After turning off your iPhone, while continuing to hold the Power button (side button), press and hold the Volume Down button for 5 seconds.

After 5 seconds have passed, release the power button, but continue to hold the volume down button until iTunes displays a message stating that iPhone is in recovery mode (about 10 seconds).

When using the Finder (macOS 10.15 Catalina and later software versions), you must click on the device name in the side menu.

To exit recovery mode, perform a hard (forced) reboot according to the instructions above.

Press and quickly release the volume up button.

Press and quickly release the volume down button.
