In 2004, the Japanese company NHK showed the world a device with a 4K resolution format for the first time. Since 2012, it has been adopted by almost all TV manufacturers. The minimum screen resolution with this standard is 3840 × 2160 pixels, the aspect ratio is 16: 9. 4K provides the highest picture clarity, brighter than normal Full HD, color palette. Since the pixels on the screen in this case are much larger, and the size of each of them, respectively, is much smaller, the picture is more realistic, denser, with clear outlines of objects.
But, in addition to improving screen resolution, 4K format implies increased frame rate, depth and color coverage. According to experts, this technology has a much greater psychological effect on the viewer than 3D, and no special devices are required for viewing.
HDR aims to transform the way television content is presented. Even the design of the new TVs serves this purpose: the frame is almost completely absent, the wires and mounts are safely hidden.
