Enable hardware virtualization VT-X / AMD-V in BIOS or UEFI
Virtualization and containering applications, such as VirtualBox and Docker, require the inclusion of hardware virtualization. This applies to VT-X on Intel and AMD-V on AMD motherboards. On the AMD AMD-V motherboards is included by default. However, on the Intel motherboards, you can manually enable VT-X from BIOS / UEFI. In addition, there are some motherboards that are blocked and will not allow you to turn on VT-X / AMD-V, in which case you are not lucky. Without unnecessary words, let’s look at how to enable the hardware virtualization of Intel VT-X in the BIOS or built-in UEFI software so that Docker can be launched by virtual machines or containers.
Turn on hardware virtualization
If the virtualization of equipment is not included in your UEFI or BIOS, you can see one or more of the following errors:

Step 1a. Download the BIOS settings on a computer excellent from UEFI

How to enter BIOS?
To access BIOS, you need to press the key during the boot process. Visit the website of the technical characteristics of the product (ARK.Intel.com). Enter the processor number in the search field located on the right. On the processor product page and in the Advanced Technologies section, check whether Intel virtualization technology is supported.
How to find out if virtualization is included?
Click the right mouse button on the taskbar and select the task manager from the context menu. In the window of the task manager, go to the “performance” tab. Check the information about the CPU, which are displayed by default when opening the “performance” tab. In the section “Information about the processor” on the right side of the screen, check the “Virtualization” section.
Include virtualization in BIOS. Virtualization allows one processor to launch different operating systems at the same time, and this is a necessary condition for the effective work of BlueStacks. After you entered the BIOS settings on your PC, virtualization steps will depend on your processor.
How to find out support for the processor of virtualization technology
The user can use two ways: to independently find out the equipment specification to learn by the processor’s brand about the support for the processor of certain technologies on the official Intel website or on the websites of sellers of computer equipment.
By the type of processor, you need to find supported technologies, among them “Intel (VT-X) virtualization technology”.

- Run the executable application file on PC (the application installation is not required).
- In the window of the Securable program, a processor brand and three indicators are displayed:

The “Hardware Virtualization” parameter displays one of the three values: “Yes” (yes), “No” (no), “Locked OFF” (blocked, disabled). With the first two values, everything is clear, and the Locked OFF parameter indicates that there is support for hardware virtualization, but it is disabled.
