Open the front access door, located below the control panel.

Remove the red label which is without touching any circuit of the ink cartridge.
Now take the color in cartridge and insert it in the color side. Just push it inwards and it will lock itself and do it same for the black ink cartridge.
Close the access door. The printer will automatically recognize the new cartridges.
On the printer’s control panel, select “OK” to confirm that the new cartridges have been installed correctly.

Connecting the Printer

Now I’m going to show you how to do the Wi-Fi setup of this printer. We will connect this printer with the home or office Wi-Fi network. Now, the first step is to go on the display screen. We need to enter this printer into the setup mode.

Now, the first step is to switch on the printer and we wait for the display screen to show all the details.
For that we need to press and hold the cancel button and the wireless button for 3 seconds. One, two, three. And we release it. You will see the power button starts to flash and it will stop flashing.
And then the wireless button will start to flash after that. That means your printer has entered into the setup mode and it’s ready for the wireless connection.
Now go to your Android device or any other smartphone and then download the HP Smart app from the App Store.
Open the HP Smart app. Now we need to add the printer.
So we click on the plus button. On the top screen you will see it says searching for the printers.

Now you will see the next screen. It says no printer found.
And at the same time you get option set up a new printer. Click on that.
It will search for this printer now and you will see it Deskjet 2722 series.
Click on this connect printer to Wi-Fi.
So check if there is a correct name of the Wi-Fi network in case that is not the correct one.
Then you can click on the Change button. Now we have to enter the password in this screen here. Continue. Once you enter the password now it says turn on the Bluetooth.
So we click on Continue and we allow HP Smart to turn on the Bluetooth. So once your Bluetooth is on, you will see it is connecting. So that is starting printer setup. It says press the flashing information button on the printer.
You see that is the flashing information button. So we need to click this information button once it’s now obtaining an IP address for the printer.
Now we see it says printer connected to the Wi-Fi. So it is connected. We can click on the Continue button.

Now you will see a page you can print from other devices. You can send a link if you want. Or you can download the software for other devices from one, two, three HP.com.

And you can click Note right now. Now it says the setup is complete. So your printer is connected to the Wi-Fi network and it’s already added in your smartphone on the printed document.

Also we can see the printer is available on the screen. And it also shows the estimated level of ink left in the ink cartridges. So here we can see the welcome sheet and it gives some details regarding the printer and how to use it with HP Smart app.

Wi-Fi-direct

Power on the printer
Click on the wireless button once it will activate the Wi-Fi Direct.
Also we need to print the password of this printer so that we can use it.
So we are going to press and hold the wireless button and the information button and it will send a command for the printer to print a page.

So once the printer prints this HP network configuration page in that you have to look for the Wi-Fi Direct option. Under that you see the Wi-Fi direct password and the name so password is written on the top here.

Now go to your iPhone and open the Wi-Fi.
So go to the setting and then Wi-Fi.
Once you open the Wi-Fi, you will see the name of the printer is available here.
Here we have to enter the password as it was printed on the sheet. So it’s a universal password.
You can use 1234-⁠5678, click on Join.
So once you see the confirmation, like it is connected, we go and open the HP Smart app.

Paper jam and paper feed issues

Paper jams can happen in many areas. Clear paper jam from the input tray first. It helps to clear the paper path and make clearing jams from other locations easier. Then proceed to the next area until all paper jams are found and cleared.

Remove all the paper from the input tray, including both loose and jammed paper.
Lift and hold the input tray protection, and then use a flashlight to check for any jammed paper or unknown objects in the paper path. Remove any jammed paper or unknown objects you find.
To avoid tearing any whole sheets of paper, pull the paper with both hands gently.
Press the Cancel button, the printer will clearing the error status

Try to uninstall the cartridge
Check if the protective plastic tape has been removed from cartridge
Reinstall cartridge to printer
If the problem still occur, try to clean the cartridge contacts
If the problem still not resolved, replace the cartridges

How to clean cartridge contact

The cleaning procedure should take only a few minutes. Make sure that the cartridges are reinstalled to the printer as fast as possible. It is not recommended to leave the cartridges outside the printer longer than 30 minutes. If cartridges are left unprotected outside the printer, the nozzles might dry out and clog up.

Turn on the printer
Open the cartridge access door and wait for the print carriage to move to the center of the printer
Remove the cartridge show in the error message
Clean the cartridge contacts and printer contact
Hold the cartridge by its sides with the bottom pointing up and locate the electrical contacts on the cartridge. The electrical contacts are the small gold colored dots on the cartridge.

On the inside of the printer, locate the contacts for the cartridge. The printer contacts are the set of gold-colored bumps positioned to meet the contacts on the cartridge.
Use a dry swab or lint free cloth to wipe the contacts
Reinstall the cartridge
Close the cartridge access door
Check if the error message has cleared. I error still occur, turn off the printer and then turn on again
If one cartridge is causing problems, you can remove it and use the single cartridge mode to operate the printer with only one cartridge

Turn on the printer
Put some paper on the input tray

The carriage inside the printer has stalled. Open the cartridge access door and make sure the carriage is not obstructed. Move the carriage to the right, close the cartridge access door, then press resume button to continue

Error E4, the letter E and the number 4 are blinking. At the same time, the Resume light is blinking.

Error E5, the letter E and the number 5 are blinking. At the same time, all lights on the control panel are blinking.

The scanner is not working, turn off the printer and then turn on again. If the problem still occure contact HP. The printer still prints even if the scanner is not working.

Error E6, the letter E and the number 6 are blinking. The printer is in an error state, turn off the printer, unplug the power cord. Wait for 5 minutes, and then plug the power cord back in. then turn on the printer. If the problem persists, contact HP Service center.
