Minuses:

  • There is no way to pay for purchases using NFC.
  • Average power processor.

Camera

On the back of the Xiaomi Redmi 8 there is a camera with two modules and an LED flash in a separate unit. The main 12 MP camera with 1.8 aperture and hybrid autofocus allows you to take not only high-quality photos, but also good portraits and landscapes. The second 2MP module is responsible for measuring the depth of the frame, providing bokeh in photos. Available modes include HDR and Panorama. Video shooting takes place in 1080p @ 30fps.

The front 8MP camera with aperture ratio of 2.0 is placed in a drop-shaped zone. It allows you to take selfies and chat in instant messengers via video. Artificial intelligence is used in the main and front cameras, which significantly improves shots.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Review

Redmi Note 8 is another Xiaomi entry-level smartphone. It is characterized by an important feature. The model changes the idea of what the display of a smartphone from this price range should be. Redmi Note 8 boasts a more than bright and contrasty display. What else suggests read in the following lines.

Cameras

In the Redmi Note 8, the company relies on a main quad-camera module as well as a front-facing camera. The main photo sensor in the rear module is Samsung GM1. It has 48MP resolution, f / 1.75 aperture and 0.8μm pixel size. There is also a 2MP depth sensor, a macro lens and an 8MP f / 2.2 wide-angle sensor with a 180-degree viewing angle.

Samsung GM1 uses a technique to combine four closely spaced pixels into one. As a result, light sensitivity and image detail are improved. The resolution is reduced to 12 MP. This technology works great and produces exciting footage. In low light conditions in the environment, GM1 does not work perfectly.

The front camera of the Redmi Note 8 is 13 megapixel. She makes great images during the day. Its level of detail and sharpness is not as good as that of the main camera.

Image quality is satisfying. You can post your selfie to social media immediately.

Specifications. Performance

Unlike Redmi Note 7, in Redmi Note 8 we see Snapdragon 665. These are 8 cores with a maximum clock frequency of 2.0 GHz. The processor is made according to the 11nm process technology. Graphics core Adreno 610. For this level of smartphones, performance is good.

Design

Let’s start with the overall dimensions. Compared to its predecessors, there are no radical changes. The Redmi Note 8 weighs almost 190 grams. Its height is 158.3 mm versus 159.21 mm, which we know from the Note 7. The width and thickness have remained practically identical.

Autonomous work

Redmi Note 8 has a 4000mAh battery. A full charge takes 2 hours and 20 minutes.

Display

The display of Redmi Note 8 is covered with protective Corning Gorilla Glass, which smoothly reaches the plastic frame. Case thickness 8.3 mm. The bezels around the display are quite thin.
The latter occupies 82% of the front panel area.

The quality of workmanship is well. There is no moisture protection, because of this it is recommended to keep this smartphone away from water. Physical buds sit tightly in place.

Redmi Note 8 is pleasantly thin. Looks a bit big for which the glass back plays a role. The color gradient is a beautiful solution. This Xiaomi model is offered on the market in several colors: Moonlight White, Space Black and Neptune Blue.

Four cameras for all occasions

Xiaomi has long spared cameras for its mid-range smartphones. So Redmi Note 9 “got” decently. The smartphone is equipped with four rear cameras at once:

  • wide-angle 48MP with f / 1.79 aperture, six-element lens,
  • 8MP ultra-wide-angle with f / 2.2 aperture, 118 ° field of view,
  • 2 MP depth sensor with f / 2.4 aperture,
  • macro camera 2 Mp, focal length up to 2 cm.

We have long been accustomed to the fact that the number of cameras and megapixels in Chinese smartphones does not necessarily mean high quality shooting. How things are with Redmi Note 9?

The smartphone shoots perfectly in good (even not ideal) natural light. The sharpness is high, the color rendition is correct, albeit not in 100% of cases.

When the lighting deteriorates, the quality of the footage drops off decently. You can take normal photos, but you can’t count on the absence of noise and high sharpness.

The 13MP front camera supports face unlock. The option works stably in daylight. It feels like unlocking is even slightly faster than using the fingerprint scanner. Another thing is that you can use the face scanner only during the day. When the lighting deteriorates, the function begins to dim significantly.

5020 mAh!

The big advantage of Redmi Note 9 over many competitors from a similar price category is the battery. The battery capacity of the smartphone is an impressive 5020 mAh.

During the week of using the smartphone, I charged it exactly once every two days. The exception is the very first day when all the tests were carried out and in general the load on the smartphone was much more than usual. In the following days, in the evening, up to 60% of the charge remained with normal daily use.

According to statistics from a smartphone, the operating time with an active screen is 8-9 hours.

You won’t need to charge such a capacious battery for a long time. The smartphone supports 18W fast charging. All fast charging accessories come with your smartphone. You don’t need to buy anything.

Another feature worth mentioning is the 9W reversible charging. From Redmi Note 9 you can charge other smartphones, wearable gadgets (the same Mi Band fitness bracelet) and other devices. In fact, Redmi Note 9 acts as a full-fledged power bank, of course, in a critical case, when there is no way to charge from anything else.

You can play, but be careful

As much as Xiaomi has been criticized for using MediaTek processors in its latest smartphones, the Chinese don’t seem to care. It is the MediaTek Helio G85 processor that is responsible for the performance of Redmi Note 9. This is a fresh processor that debuted in Redmi Note 9.

The 12nm chip has two high-performance Cortex-A75 cores at 2 GHz and six energy-efficient Cortex-A55 cores at 1.8 GHz. The chip has an embedded Mali G52 MC2 video processor with a frequency of 1 GHz.

The amount of RAM Redmi Note 9. 3 or 4 GB, depending on the configuration. Built-in memory. 64 or 128 GB, respectively.

However, for people with the ability to add a thousand or two rubles to buy a Redmi Note 9 with 4 GB of RAM, of course, I would advise you to take an improved version. As you know, there is never enough “RAM”.

The performance of the Redmi Note 9 is twofold. The smartphone works smartly with ordinary everyday applications. Applications start instantly, rarely when you have to wait for them to load for more than a couple of seconds (and this is when it comes to some “heavy” applications). From the point of view of normal use, there are no complaints about the smartphone. This is a great workhorse that is a pleasure to use.

But in games it is a little different. Xiaomi is promoting the Redmi Note 9 as a low-cost gaming smartphone. This is mainly due to the presence of the MediaTek Helio G85 processor in the device, which, in turn, is positioned by MediaTek as a “gaming” one. This is due to the presence of an integrated video chip in the Helio G85 with an increased frequency (by 50 MHz) compared to the Helio G80. Agree, weak justification for the title “game”?

In fact, Redmi Note 9 cannot be called a modern gaming machine. Yes, all current titles are running on it: Call of Duty Mobile, World of Tanks Blitz, Asphalt 9 and others, but you need to set low graphics settings. Even at medium settings, where possible, noticeable fps drops begin. It becomes uncomfortable to play, and strong heating of the case adds sadness.

Interestingly, at low settings in the listed games, overheating of the case is not very distracting. The case heats up noticeably, but within an adequate range.

Benchmark tests additionally confirm the real feel. In AnTuTu, the smartphone scored 201,975 points. In Geekbench 5. 357 points in single-threaded mode and 1231 in multi-threaded. For comparison, smartphones with a Snapdragon 710 chip (Mi 9 Lite, Mi 8) gain about the same.

NFC in place

The main thing is that Redmi Note 9 has NFC. Xiaomi still doesn’t equip every new smartphone with NFC support, so we have to emphasize this most important moment for buyers.

However, taking into account the trend of recent months, in the foreseeable future Xiaomi will leave only the most budget smartphones with a price of up to 10 thousand rubles without NFC. All other NFC models will finally get.

Skillful zakos under the flagships

It has long been clear that Xiaomi does not strive to make smartphones from the same line similar to each other. Even if we are talking about models of two adjacent generations. Redmi Note 9, which has changed beyond the Redmi Note 8 beyond recognition, is a direct proof of this.

Redmi Note 9 has almost completely gone into the “flagship”. The device looks more like an expensive smartphone than a representative of the mid-budget line, to which, according to the logic of things, it should belong.

True, belonging to the flagships is noticeable only externally. As soon as you pick up your smartphone, it immediately becomes clear that this is still not a flagship. The plastic back surface of the case “screams” about it, smoothly turning to the edge.

Not to say that this is a big minus, and many people like plastic cases much more than glass ones because of their practicality. However, it is important to be aware of this. In the photo, especially on the official ones from Xiaomi itself, the body of the smartphone may well seem glass.

In addition, I honestly admit that after more expensive smartphones, the cheapness of the plastic case of the new Redmi Note is felt.

Xiaomi would not be Xiaomi if it had not been marked with some kind of “trick”. There is it in Redmi Note 9. The body of the smartphone has a special “nano-coating”. It is invisible (convenient, right?) And serves to protect the case from minor scratches and splashes.

Nano-development is highly appreciated by Xiaomi. After almost a week with the smartphone, I had it thoroughly examined. I really didn’t find any mini scratches. And this is provided that I was wearing a smartphone without a case, which, by the way, comes with the device. The smartphone also fell under the fine spring rain. Drops rolled down the invisible nano-coating without problems and consequences.

It is important to know! The nano-coating protects only the back cover from drops and moisture. The smartphone does not have full water protection.

Almost the entire front surface of the case was occupied by the display. It has slim side and top bezels that are only 3.9mm thick. At the same time, the bottom bezel is noticeably thicker. “Chin” still remains in much more expensive smartphones, so its presence in the budget Redmi Note 9 is not a big surprise.

The front camera is built into a hole in the screen. an important design point. First of all, because thanks to this, the top frame is as thin as the side ones. There was no need to leave a platform for placing the front camera on the frame.

But the main thing is that the front camera located in the screen clearly distinguishes Redmi Note 9 against the background of its predecessors. In fact, the smartphone uses a technology that only recently reached the flagships of Xiaomi. And now it is used in the “state employee”.

The differences between Redmi Note 9 and last year’s Redmi Note 8 in terms of design do not end there. “Walk like that”, decided in Xiaomi and made radical changes throughout the body.

On the back of the smartphone in the middle there is a square block with four cameras. There is a fingerprint scanner underneath at a comfortable distance. The previous model did not have anything like it. the difference is like between smartphones from different lines.

Xiaomi clearly knows for whom it makes inexpensive smartphones from the Redmi Note line. Therefore, the set of connectors is expected: a tray for two SIM cards and a separate slot for a microSD card, an IR sensor, a 3.5 mm jack and a USB-C port for charging. In general, a complete set.

The fingerprint scanner has a fairly large area. Due to this, hitting it is easy. you don’t even need to aim. But best of all, thanks to this, the finger does not fall on the block with cameras. I never had to get them dirty, including in the first days of using the smartphone.

Redmi Note 9 is moderately compact against the background of modern smartphones.

Dimensions: 162.3 x 77.2 x 8.9 mm
Weight: 199g

There is one speaker on the bottom edge of the smartphone body. There is no stereo sound here. The speaker is loud, the sound is clear, without rattling, but also without frills.

The screen in Redmi Note 9 is impressive. Huge 6.53-inch LCD display with high-quality IPS-matrix with a resolution of 1080 × 2340 pixels (Full HD). The screen is covered with high-quality protective glass Corning Gorilla Glass 5. There is a good oleophobic coating, which we are already used to in mid-budget Xiaomi smartphones.

The maximum screen brightness is 450 cd / m², which is normal. The brightness is enough to comfortably distinguish the image on the screen on a sunny day outside. The screen contrast is 1500: 1, the coverage of the NTSC color space is 84%. The picture is of high quality, the colors are transmitted correctly, the display is neither yellow nor blue.

A few words about the hole for the front camera. Does it get in the way? For me personally, not a drop. For several days of daily use of the smartphone from the hole for the front camera, there was no negative.

It is small and located in the very corner of the screen. In this regard, the content was not closed, even in third-party applications from Google Play. Not to mention standard applications that are optimized for the “hole”.

Review of Xiaomi Redmi Note 9. Well, they learned

Top again? Almost.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 is the main budget smartphone of 2020, which Xiaomi quickly launched around the world, including Russia. The company did not hesitate with the global release of the model, realizing that, like the previous smartphones of the line, it would become a hit.

Did Xiaomi manage to make a hit out of Redmi Note 9 that would be worth buying? I walked around for a whole week with a new smartphone and found out everything in practice.

Who should buy Redmi Note 9?

With the Redmi Note 9, Xiaomi has definitely made a proven model that will appeal to most. Nevertheless, in order to keep the smartphone inexpensive, several concessions had to be made. The plastic case is seemingly of high quality and nano-coated, but tactilely cheap. There is no water protection. The MediaTek processor is powerful but far from gaming. No stereo speakers either.

The rest of the smartphone is wonderful. It shoots well, works smartly and, what is important, for a very long time. If the listed disadvantages of Redmi Note 9 are not critical for you, then you can safely buy it. For several years, he will delight you with his stable work.

Multimedia capabilities

The smartphone’s voice quality is good. You and your interlocutor hear each other perfectly. Let me remind you that Redmi Note 7 still has a standard minijack for headphones, so you don’t need to buy special adapters or adapters. The sound in the headphones is standard, typical for all devices in this price segment. There is only one external speaker, it is located to the right of the Type-C port. It has an average volume, in my opinion, it sounds a little quieter than its closest competitors.

Smartphone Review Redmi Note 7

Screen

Characteristics Value
Screen diagonal 6.3 inch
Display resolution 2340 x 1080 dots
PPI value 409
Matrix type IPS
Protective covering Gorilla Glass 5
Oleophobic coating there is
Automatic brightness control there is
Multi-touch support Present, up to ten simultaneous touches

From the differences between the display and the previous generation, the transition to a drop-shaped notch immediately catches the eye, as a result, the total screen area has grown slightly. However, the screen itself has also become better: they raised the maximum brightness, viewing angles, and improved color rendering. In general, the impressions of the display are only positive.

In bright sunlight, the image fades, but at night it is quite comfortable to use the minimum brightness. In the settings, you can enable a separate reading mode and adjust the screen color. Both modes have very fine detailed settings with an adjustment slider, so those who like to customize the display will be happy.

Design, dimensions, controls

Usually, there is not much to say about the design of Redmi Note, smartphones of this line used to look like most other faceless devices. Redmi Note 7 tried to work on the design to make the device look more interesting: for example, the back cover was made of glass, added a beautiful gradient, finally got rid of the terrible vertical camera styled for iPhones, and, in general, they did well. Yes, you won’t surprise anyone with a glass case, but at least it looks more original than another plastic back cover.

In addition, in addition to the boring black, there will be blue and red versions on sale. The latter looks amazing at all, at the presentation we separately noticed that this is just a bright case, and not a color focused on girls.

On the right side there is a power button and a volume rocker, on the left there is a tray for two nanoSIM cards and a memory card.

Below you can see the Type-C port, a conversational microphone and an external speaker, on top. a mini-jack for headphones and an infrared port.

Pay attention to how neatly the earpiece was positioned; it looks like a thin, barely noticeable slot and takes up almost no space on the case. The front camera is inscribed in the display, as Xiaomi noted at the presentation, the bang season is over.

The dimensions of the smartphone are 160 x 76 x 8.1 mm, and the weight is 186 grams. I was pleasantly surprised by how the device lies in my hand, after all, you expect more thickness and heaviness from a smartphone with a 4000 mAh battery. There are no complaints about the assembly, there are no creaks, gaps and backlash.

Communication capabilities

Interfaces Availability
Wi-Fi Yes, b / g / n / ac, dual band
Bluetooth Yes, 5.0, A2DP
GPS Cold start takes about 3 seconds
Mobile data 2G: 850/900/1800/1900 3G: 850/900/1700/1900/2100 4G: b3 / b7 / b20 / b38 Dual SIM, one radio
USB On-The-Go there is
NFC No
Infrared port there is
FM radio Yes, only works with headphones

Let’s start with the good things: the smartphone supports dual-band Wi-Fi and ac standard, retained support for IrDA, and an application for emulating remotes is already preinstalled. GPS is also fast and the Bluetooth version is 5.0. But this model does not have NFC, although some competitors have it for the same price.

Positioning

The motto of the Redmi line (and now a separate brand) is simple. high technology should be accessible. Redmi smartphones, as a rule, cost up to 20 thousand rubles and have the characteristics of devices for a higher price. Redmi focuses on an advanced audience who knows how to compare different models and then, after a long search, choose the best.

If we talk about Redmi Note, then these devices have always had three important qualities for which customers loved them: a capacious battery, a good screen and an affordable price. These advantages are also true for the Note 7, Xiaomi also tried to add a good camera and interesting design to them.

Software features

The smartphone runs on Android 9.0 and MIUI 10.2. We talked about MIUI 10 in a separate article, if you haven’t read it yet, I recommend using the link below.

In general, I like MIUI, it is a sophisticated and functional shell. However, certain settings are required before using it. For example, pop-up and lock screen notifications are disabled by default for instant messengers. Therefore, after installing the same Telegram, do not forget to enable them in the application settings. MIUI 10 also checks each application after installation with its own antivirus and shows an additional notification. This is also disabled in the settings.

Camera

Characteristics Value
Main camera 48 5 megapixels, f / 1.8, 1.6 μm, electronic stabilization
Front-camera 13 megapixels, background blur

Before describing the capabilities of the camera, let me quote a piece from the article from the presentation of Redmi Note 7:

In fact, we have two modes in which we need to shoot on Redmi Note 7. In one we shoot in low light in order to get a brighter picture at 12 megapixels. The second one is used for clear images with high detail in a resolution of 48 megapixels.

In practice, night and evening shots using AI seemed to me to be very overexposed. However, you can evaluate them yourself.

But in low light, the device coped well.

At the presentation, there was a lot of talk about good detail with high resolution, but finding the camera’s shooting mode in 48-megapixel mode was not so easy. It was hidden in the Pro mode settings. In general, during the day, the footage is really good.

Here are three examples of AI-enabled daytime photography.

And an example of a selfie on the front camera.

I was surprised to see that the video camera writes only in FHD, but from 60 fps. Overall, the picture is not bad considering the price of the smartphone. Below are two examples of videos, in the afternoon and in the evening.

The camera interface is standard, familiar to MIUI. Switching between modes is done using horizontal gestures, the settings call is in the upper right corner.

Memory, chipset, performance

Characteristics Value
Chipset Qualcomm Snapdragon 660
CPU Octa-core, 2.2 GHz
Video accelerator Adreno 512
The amount of RAM 3 or 4 GB
Internal storage capacity 32, 64 or 128 GB
Memory card slot Yes, hybrid

It’s nice that at a price of 14 thousand in Redmi Note 7 they did not save on the chipset and installed SD660, not SD632, as larger manufacturers did in more expensive models. However, to be honest, I did not feel much difference in performance, except for the numbers in the benchmarks. The device is smart, the interface works smoothly, scrolling in applications is also free of jams. Most games you can run at maximum settings.

The case heats up only during games and running benchmarks, the rest of the time it is either slightly warm or cool.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro design and materials

Visually, Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro is a typical modern smartphone with a large display. The screen occupies almost the entire front panel, there is only a teardrop-shaped cutout for the front camera, above which is the earpiece mesh and a small LED indicator. The gaps around the perimeter of the screen are small, but not a record.

The frame is made of glossy plastic, which looks pretty good, but it gets scratched very quickly. All buttons and connectors are placed as usual. On the right side are the standard power and volume buttons. On the left is a tray for SIM cards and MicroSD. Speaker, microphone, Type-C and 3.5 mm headphone jack are on the bottom. Above. an additional microphone and IR transmitter for electronics control.

The back is made of 5th generation Gorilla glass (just like the screen protector). The back panel has curves on the sides, the smartphone fits comfortably in the hand. What is important given the impressive weight of 200 g. It is produced in four colors: white, blue, green and black. “Classic” black looks nice.

The camera is placed vertically in the middle on a kind of dais. The fourth module is slightly on the side, next to the flash. They decided to place the fingerprint scanner together with the main cameras, from the same round shape. It looks aesthetically pleasing, but not very convenient. It is not easy to find it, and the finger regularly gets into the camera.

Interface and software

Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro runs on the current Android 9 Pie OS with MIUI 11 shell, version. 11.0.1.0. MIUI 10 was installed out of the box. There are no cardinal changes compared to the 10th version. Mostly they relate to the appearance and animations and all sorts of little things such as an updated look for sound settings and various sliders. A separate application menu is expected to appear in MIUI 11 later, with future updates. The shell works traditionally very quickly and is quite convenient.

There are already familiar navigation options with buttons or gestures, and various additional little things are also provided. For example, the reduced screen mode and additional screen gestures for more convenient smartphone control.

Even in the previous version of MIUI, an add-on for games appeared. Now almost all smartphone manufacturers have their own version, although they are all similar in functionality. There is memory cleaning before starting the game, disabling pop-up notifications, screenshots, video capture, and so on.

Traditionally, a very impressive number of proprietary applications are preinstalled.

Xiaomi Redmi Note is an extremely popular line of low-cost smartphones. Redmi Note 7 has become one of the sales leaders this year in Ukraine. But the competition in this segment is very high and we have to surprise with something. Recently, the new Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro went on sale, in which the company has installed a main camera with four modules, a new “gaming” processor and NFC for contactless payment, which has long been awaited in the affordable Redmi line. Sounds interesting. And we’ll see how everything is in practice.

Display

The Redmi Note 8 Pro has a large 6.53-inch display with a drop notch for the front camera. IPS-matrix with FullHD resolution (2340х1080), aspect ratio 19.5: 9 and pixel density is used

395 ppi. The screen has good viewing angles and pleasant natural color reproduction. The stock of brightness is sufficient for comfortable use in any conditions, including in the sun.

The set of settings is standard: scale, font size, color tone adjustment, dark mode and two options for hiding the top cutout.

In natural mode, the maximum brightness is 396.062 cd / m², and the static contrast is 731: 1. At the same time, the color rendering is quite natural, the color error ΔE does not exceed 8, which is very good. The color gamut is almost the same as sRGB:

In bright mode, the brightness and contrast indicators remain practically unchanged: 398.973 cd / m² and 733: 1, respectively. But in terms of color rendering, the screen perceptibly goes into cold shades:

Camera Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro camera consists of four modules. The main one is 64 megapixels with f / 1.9 aperture, 26 mm, 1 / 1.7 ″, 0.8 µm with phase detection autofocus. In standard mode, it works similarly to Sony Quad Bayer sensors: four pixels of the same color are combined into one, resulting in images of 16 megapixels. Additionally, there is an 8 MP f / 2.2 ultra-wide-angle camera, a separate 2 MP, f / 2.4 macro camera and a two-megapixel depth sensor. Despite the updated version of MIUI, the camera application is familiar and practically does not differ from previous versions.

The camera is quite good considering the class of the smartphone. During the day, the photos are detailed, with natural color reproduction and good dynamic range. Night photography is more difficult for a smartphone, but you can take a decent photo. There is a night shooting mode.

Also, the camera can take wide-angle photos, there is 2x zoom and portrait mode with background blur. The latter did not work on our test unit. On a wide-angle camera, decent photos can only be taken during the day:

The macro camera also does not do miracles, the detail is so-so.

Unlocking

As we wrote above, the smartphone’s fingerprint scanner is located on the back, under the cameras. It works quickly and accurately. Although it would be strange to expect something different: “classic” scanners have long been working well even in budget smartphones. Face recognition is also formally present, but it does not work very well.

Platform and performance

Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro has received a fresh MediaTek Helio G90T processor, which is positioned by the company as a gaming one. It is made using a 12-nm process technology, includes two ARM Cortex-A76 cores at 2.05 GHz and six Cortex-A55 cores at 2.0 GHz. Responsible for the graphics accelerator Mali-G76 MC4. The processor was equipped with liquid cooling for stable operation. In fact, the performance in the benchmarks is just a little higher than that of the Snapdragon 730 in the middle price segment. In general, it is more than enough for fast operation of applications and the shell. Games also run confidently, including demanding ones. But only for not too long gaming sessions.

The processor turned out to be very “hot”. In a stress test, it overheats and throttles up to 78%, while the body next to the camera heats up very noticeably. Demanding games also warm up the smartphone well. Liquid cooling doesn’t help much.

Wireless interfaces include dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11a / b / g / n / ac, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC (with Google Pay support), FM tuner and IR transmitter for electronics control. Navigation module: GPS (A-GPS), GLONASS, BeiDou and Galileo. Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro comes with 6 GB of RAM and 64/128 GB of internal storage. The tray is hybrid, instead of a second SIM card, you can install a microSD up to 256 GB:

Smartphone review Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro. Autonomy

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro has a 4500 mAh battery. There were fears that the large IPS-screen and the new MediaTek processor would not have the best effect on battery life. But in fact, everything is very good: in the usual “everyday” mode (if you do not force it with a large number of games), the smartphone works on a single charge for 2 days. There are various power saving and Digital Wellbeing modes for monitoring smartphone usage time.

Supports fast 18 W (Quick Charge 3), the corresponding power supply is included. In half an hour, the smartphone charges up to 40%. Fully charged. just under 2 hours.
