Xiaomi AirDots how to insert into the ear

How to connect one and both headphones

If one of the headphones stops working, you need to perform the following commands:. Deactivate both headphones, by holding down the buttons until the red light appears Hold down the control buttons for 30-50 seconds until a white light appears. After 10-20 seconds, the headset will flash twice in red and white Next, you need to continue to hold the sensors to make them go out for a couple of seconds After resetting, you need to put the device in the charging case Subsequent opening of the case will cause two headphones to sync quickly.

How to connect both Redmi AirDots headphones to the phone

Connecting Xiaomi Redmi headphones to the phone is not difficult. The device is equipped with touch buttons, which are outside the two headphones and simplify the process of pairing:. Hold both headphones until the indicator light turns purple and red. This will indicate a successful reset Put the headset in the case and wait a couple of seconds to “find each other’s ears. If the right earpiece flashes pale purple, pairing is successful In the Bluetooth settings of the phone should be selected “Mi AirDots Basic_R”. Initially the smartphone connects to the right earpiece and then to the left.

The device is available in two colors: black and white.

  • A plastic capsule that acts as a charger;
  • The headphones themselves, which are located in a capsule;
  • interchangeable ear cushions (attachments) of different sizes;
  • documentation.

The manufacturer did not include a micro USB cable: it must be purchased separately, but not necessarily, will fit a cable from a smartphone with a corresponding jack.

Charging

The gadget can’t work if it’s not charged, so put it in a case to fill up the battery before using it. If the indicator light is red, the Redmi AirDots are charging, if white, they are ready to use.

Remove the headset from the case and wait a couple of seconds. the earpieces should sync up with each other. When the left hand signal catches the right, the synchronization is complete, as evidenced by the LED, which will start blinking white.

Autonomy

Battery life is another strong point of this model. The manufacturer claims up to 4 hours of music playback on a single charge, about the same amount we have in practice. At 50-60% volume, the headphones play for an average of three and a half hours, if listening to an audiobook or watching a video, 30-40 minutes more.

Charge level of your headphones is shown in the notification bar

The case allows you to charge the headphones 3 times, which provides a total of about 15-16 hours of playback. In general, for a budget gadget. the figure is excellent, in normal use I have never once discharged them to zero, and the case itself has to be recharged no more than once a week. It takes 70 minutes to charge the headphones, due to the magnets they are always properly placed in the case without any action on the part of the user.

Xiaomi AirDots review

TWS-headset Xiaomi AirDots was introduced back in November 2018 at a price of 199 yuan, or 1,900, at the time of release and was positioned as an inexpensive competitor primarily for Apple Airpods.

It is customary that no TWS-headset entering the market can not avoid comparisons with a product from the Apple company.

Some manufacturers make a special Accent on this, in order to both draw attention to their product, and to emphasize the advantages, the main of which is usually the price.

Whether it’s good or bad is a fifth question, but this approach achieves its goal. users begin to compare, and therefore become familiar with the device.

Today the TWS headset market is booming, and the more there is to offer the better for the consumer: choice is almost always a good thing.

But back to the AirDots. Considering that the headset from Xiaomi was introduced quite a long time ago, a lot of impressions about it have accumulated, so this material will be more about the impressions of the product than about the features.

But we’ll start, as usual, with the packaging and appearance.

Packaging and package

A traditional white box, small size, which shows the device on one side, and on the other side there is a description in the great and mighty Chinese, which, of course, know every buyer of the products of this Chinese company. it seems to think so in Xiaomi, otherwise how to explain the absence of at least English?

Yes, it is clear that this is the product version for the domestic market, but still a shame. It is good that at least the figures remained in Arabic, so that the eye catches the usual for every gadget man values, by which you can understand some of the technical specifications of the device.

  • Bluetooth version 5.0, which is great because most manufacturers can’t get past 4.2.
  • Supported Protocols: HFF/A2DP/HSP/AVRCP.
  • The battery capacity of each headphone is 40 mAh.
  • Battery capacity of the case. 300 mAh.
  • Working time when playing music in stereo mode. 4 hours.
  • When working in mono mode. 5 hours.

Case can provide additional 2,5 extra hours of headphones charge, as the result we get about 12-15 hours of playing music.

Looking ahead, I would say that the headphones do not work for 4 hours. Actual time. just over three hours. It seems that with such a low capacity of built-in batteries this uptime is achieved largely due to the current version of Bluetooth. 5.0.

Except the headset itself and the case, inside the box you will find a short flat microUSB cable for charging the case, as well as instruction-harmonic and two pairs of replaceable ear cushions small and large size (medium size ear cushion is already worn on the headset). Here’s the whole package.

Design and appearance

What I like about the products of Xiaomi and their partners is the commitment to the “minimalist” style design which the company has been practicing for many years.

AirDots in this sense is a typical product. smooth contours of the body, a minimum of protrusions and controls. Nice white color and plastic with a slight soft-touch effect.

This gives the impression of a more expensive product than it really is.

The small case that measures 62x42x26 mm and weighs 35 grams has smooth contours and a spring-loaded lid, under which the headphones are located in magnetic trays. The lid itself has no additional functionality, it is just a case cover, so when you open/close it nothing happens.

It’s a pity that the case uses a microUSB connector for charging, it would be better if it was Type-C.

Charging the headphones in the case is done through the two contacts on the bottom of the trays.

The way the headphones fit onto the contacts inside the case gives AirDots an inexpensive product. it doesn’t always happen the first time, and sometimes you have to move one or the other of the headphones to make it find contact.

there are also discontent with the convenience of removing the headphones from the case and to opening the case itself. because of the lack of any protruding parts on the case to pry the lid is not always possible on the first try.

xiaomi, airdots, insert

Exactly the same difficulties sometimes arise with removing the headphones from the case. because of the lack of recesses for your fingers it is difficult to catch the headphones, especially on the move. really inconvenient.

But they hold firmly inside and don’t fall out.

Once you put the headphones in the case and contact is found, the headphone goes into sleep mode and disconnects from the phone. When removed from the case the headphones will connect to the device, informing about it a nice female voice in the same great and mighty Chinese. Connection is delayed by a second delay on the left earpiece because it is slave and connects to the right earpiece, not the phone.

It is possible to connect the headphones individually, but in this case you get two separately connected headphones playing in mono mode. It is convenient when you need to listen to information from one phone for two, for example, during excursions on vacation when using audio guide, because in this mode, the distance at which the headphones work will be 10 meters for each ear, but when you connect them in stereo mode, only 2-3 meters from the right headphone to the left one.

The headphones themselves, measuring 23×14.5x13mm and weighing 4.2 grams each, are made in the same design as the case. soft-touch bottom and glossy translucent top. and are devoid of any mechanical controls.

In design, it’s almost a complete copy of the Mi Bluetooth Headset Mini mono headset I wrote about not too long ago.

On the front of the body there is a microphone opening at the joint of the halves, and under the skirt of the cushion there is a pressure compensation hole and it seems that there is a second microphone (but it is not certain, as I could not find information about it). There is also the serial number of the device on the bezel.

The designations of the sides are made on the inside next to the contact pads in the form of very small convex letters, which are difficult to see, and this is inconvenient, so the easiest way to navigate when taking the headphones out of the case. right to the right.

An unusual thing for me was the implementation of the sulfur filter. it is almost invisible and at first one gets the impression that it does not exist in AirDots at all.

However, if you look closer, it turns out that there is still a filter, just it is made of very thin nylon mesh and therefore almost transparent.

This is the first time I’ve encountered this, and at first I even got upset, thinking that Xiaomi decided to save money on this.

Compared to, for example, the Samsung IconX 2018 headphones from Xiaomi seem much smaller and lighter, but this impression is misleading.

If you place them side by side, you will find that the AirDots aren’t much smaller. Such a misleading impression arises precisely because of the shape of the headphones and the minimalist design, which hides the size.

The headset fits well in my fastidious ears, but in my wife’s ear, the AirDots won’t fit even with the smallest ear tips. Keep this in mind if you have a small pinna.

To fit properly, the headphones need to be inserted in the ear diagonally upward and then rotated to a horizontal position relative to the ground.

This ensures that the headphones will fit snugly and won’t fall out even if you shake your head vigorously.

The headphones do not stick out of your ears at all, and they are comfortable to wear, for example, under a hat does not interfere.

Noise isolation with included ear cushions is average. when you are outdoors you can clearly hear the ambient noise. This is both a plus and a minus, given that the headset has no sound transparency feature, which means you’ll hear what’s going on around you, and that’s good for safety. On the other hand, this is a disadvantage, as the headset will not be able to isolate you from noise, such as the subway. This is easily solved by replacing the ear cushions with foam ones. with them the noise isolation becomes excellent.

Now about the controls

All control here is accomplished by a full-surface touch-sensitive surface on the outside of the headphones, under which is a two-color LED that signals a connection by flashing white and charging or the need to charge the headphone by glowing or flashing red, respectively.

xiaomi, airdots, insert

The following commands are supported: long touch on/off, long touch pairing mode on power on, single touch playback start/stop, and double touch voice assistant call when music playback is off and on.

Unfortunately, the headset can not flip through the songs and adjust the volume. Only start/stop with a short press.

The sensitivity of the sensor is average. in order to feel the headphone touch, you must touch the sensor firmly. In fact, this is good, because it allows to avoid frequent false positives, for example, when the headphones are in the hand.

There are a couple of unpleasant nuances and with the feature pairing with the devices. the leading earphone is the right, and sometimes the left falls away from the right and does not want to connect to it. In this case it is necessary to reset the connection. To do this, put the headphones in your ears and touching both headphones, hold them until a short trill of three signals, then do not let go, wait for another such trill, then put the headphones in the case, take them out and do the pairing. The connection will be restored and the pairing will be correct. Don’t take this nuance as a perceived disadvantage, because I personally experienced it while experimenting with connecting to several devices simultaneously.

After one reset with a long hold and re-pairing with the phone, the loss of the connection between the ears was not repeated.

Headset

In conversation mode the headset behaves as usual for this form-factor. the interlocutors noted some deafness of sound and sometimes small background as a muffled rumble of the street. The microphone blows in the wind as expected. However, the nice feature is that the sound of the conversation goes to both ears, not just one, as with many TWS-headsets.

It was found experimentally that in conversation mode, the microphone in the right earpiece is used, so if you put your hand in a boat-like pattern to the right ear, the quality of speech transmission increases dramatically. In this case, the people I was talking to had no idea that I was talking to them through the headset and not through the phone. In any case the conversation function in this case is 4 out of 5. If you use your palm as a sound trap, no questions asked at all.

Delay

A fairly common problem with TWS headsets is the lag in sound when watching videos and playing games. In this case, the problem did not manifest itself even once, neither with Samsung, nor with Huawei.

However, there are reports that some users have a delay. Apparently, a lot depends on the Android version and the phone manufacturer’s drivers.

About the sound quality of the headset you can find a lot of opposite opinions on the web, from “nothing at all” to “excellent”.

Taking into account the price of the headset, it was naive to expect Aptx, it is not here, but there is AAC, which is certainly not the same, but in general worthy.

My opinion. very good for the price. If we talk without looking at the price tag, it’s not bad.

As for the volume, it is not enough, there is no reserve, but it depends largely on the connected device. For example, on the Samsung S9, the volume was just enough, but on the Huawei P20 Lite, the maximum volume was difficult to adequately perceive more than a few seconds was too high.

The sound lacks some detail and clarity, I would like more attention to detail. Because of this the sound feels a little bit muddy. At the same time there is a sense of depth, the sound is not flat.

It seems that the headset uses inexpensive dynamic drivers, because of which at high volume in some songs there are metallic notes and rattling. But there is no sibilance or “popping.

On the whole, if we evaluate the sound of this headset from the point of view of listening to different styles of music, they are best suited for popular and electronic music and to a lesser extent for rock and heavy music.

Strangely enough for this price category, the headphones are quite sensitive to the sound source. So, music in lossless-format sounds much better and cleaner than that via streaming services, even such as Spotify.

To summarize, I can say that the sound quality of AirDots surprised me in a good way, because I didn’t expect it from a Bluetooth headset in this price segment.

Music is pleasant to listen to, there is no rejection. Especially after a few days of use “for every day”, when you get used to the sound of an expensive headset of a completely different class.

Conclusion and impressions

The preliminary skeptical opinion did not turn out to be true, and the sound quality of the headset was better than I expected. This is especially true when you think about the cost of AirDots. If you compare it to its peers in the price category, the QCY headsets, so beloved by the Russian consumer, sound worse, and I honestly do not understand their popularity.

If I had to choose between Xiaomi AirDots and QCY for similar money, I would not hesitate to choose AirDots.

Disappointed some roughness in the quality of the connection of the headset to the phone (falling off the left earpiece) and not the most thoughtful design of the case, which lacks the hooks, which would be easier to open the lid of the case, and recesses for the fingers inside for easier removal of the headphones from the case.

However, these insignificant shortcomings are compensated by wearing comfort, design, sound quality and cost of the headset, which all together form an overall positive impression of the product.

Review of Xiaomi AirDots affordable alternative to Apple Airpods or money down the drain?

When Apple unveiled the new iPhone 7 without a mini-jack connector and its first wireless Airpods headphones in late 2016, it was obvious one time wires were numbered.

Since then, a little more than two years have passed and the world has really changed. People have appreciated all the benefits of truly wireless headphones, and sound quality, thanks to new Bluetooth specifications and codec development, has long been a no-brainer.

Apple’s Airpods have become one of the company’s best-selling products. And if there’s demand for something, there’s also supply. Xiaomi AirDots wireless headphones are a perfect example of this. It remains to be seen whether the Chinese manufacturer has succeeded in creating a worthy alternative to Apple Airpods or this product is not worth your attention and money spent?

Xiaomi AirDors review. Package and appearance

The package with the headphones, besides the AirDots themselves, includes a USB charging cable, a case with built-in battery and a set of additional ear cushions:

Charging case, as well as the headphones themselves, in design and construction more like the Samsung Galaxy Buds (in the photo below on the right):

Of the controls, only the touch panel, which also has LED indicators that turn on when you connect to the device or during charging (more about the charging itself we will talk later):

The case is made of matte plastic and the top cover is translucent, allowing you to see the headphones’ charge indicator even if it’s closed:

AirDots can be used as a headset (the headphones work as a pair or alone) thanks to the built-in microphones, one on each earpiece:

By appearance and quality of materials there are no special claims, except for maybe a translucent cover case. Frosted or glossy plastic would have looked more premium.

Everything is well assembled, the lid of the case does not flip and a magnet is used to lock it closed. The same magnets are used to attach the headphones themselves inside the case.

Xiaomi AirDots do not feel cheap Chinese handicraft. However, if you compare with competitors (Samsung Galaxy Buds or Honor FlyPods), then the headphones from Xiaomi look less premium. Maybe it’s because of the design it’s too simple.

The case is quite compact and fits into the s of jeans without any problems:

AirDots fit perfectly in your ears. They are not bulky (each earphone is 2.3 x 1.45 x 1.3 cm, weight 4.2 grams), do not draw too much attention to themselves:

All attempts to make the AirDots fall out of my ears were unsuccessful. Even while jogging or exercising vigorously, they still stayed in place.

The package, as mentioned above, comes with 3 pairs of interchangeable ear cushions small, medium and large. But even with the smallest ear cushions, the headphones probably won’t fit a child under 14 because of their shape (they just won’t fit in the ears).

Xiaomi AirDots review. Sound quality

These headphones have many flaws and sound quality is fortunately not one of them. They sound better than the more expensive Samsung Galaxy Buds or corded Apple EarPods. But first things first.

For the sound in the headphones are responsible for dynamic radiators size 7.2 mm, and Realtek RTL8763BFR chip with low power consumption, 24-bit DAC and support for two codecs AAC and SBC.

On the Internet you can read a lot of reports about allegedly hidden aptX codec support. In fact, AirDots do not support aptX, much less aptX HD and LDAC codecs. For this reason it makes no sense to listen to music with a bitrate over 320 kbps with these headphones, this is the limit for AAC or SBC.

Before we talk about the sound itself there are 3 important points to make:

  • Due to the unique structure of the auditory canal and physiological characteristics, each person perceives sound differently. there is no objective assessment of sound quality.
  • A critical influence on sound quality is the placement of the headphones in your ears.
  • All headphones come with extra ear cushions for a reason. The amount of bass (bass) is directly related to the right size ear cushions.

For these reasons there are so many opposite reviews on the Internet about the sound quality in Xiaomi AirDots (as, indeed, any other headphones). You should keep this in mind.

So, sound. AirDots sound really good (and not just for its price range). If there is a lot of bass in the song, you do not just hear it, you feel it in your body (as much as possible, of course, for headphones). Complex compositions with many instruments at maximum volume unfortunately turn into mush, although the bass does not drown out the middle and high frequencies. The high frequencies sometimes have some sibilance, but overall they sound clear and bright. You can listen to both classical and heavy music with the headphones.

I’d like to say a few more words about codecs. If you listen to streaming music (Google Music, Apple Music) or mp3 files, then having even more advanced codecs (like aptX HD or LDAC) makes no practical sense. The bottleneck is the music itself, not the headphones or the codec.

For example, when listening to songs in the application Google Music with Samsung Galaxy S10 smartphone, there is practically no difference in sound quality between Xiaomi AirDots and Sony MDR-EX1000 wired interchannel (which once cost 500-700) (except for more pronounced bass of AirDots).

Sound volume is very high. Connecting headphones to the Samsung Galaxy S10, listening to music even at 70% volume becomes uncomfortable. But even at maximum volume, the sound quality is not degraded. Unfortunately, it is not possible to see a graph of the AFC, but it feels like there is no dip in any range.

As for the microphone, the voice quality is mediocre. During a call, your voice will sound like a speakerphone, and when talking outside, the person you’re talking to will hear all the surrounding sounds, since there is no second microphone for noise cancellation. The audibility of the caller, though, is excellent.

Xiaomi AirDots review. Functionality and convenience

Here we come to the weakest point of the headphones from Xiaomi. Comfortably, it’s a far cry from the Samsung Galaxy Buds or Apple Airpods.

All controls are done with a touchpad placed on each of the headphones. The following functions are supported:

  • One-touch touch. Allows you to pause or resume playing music. During an incoming call answers the phone.
  • Double-tapping. Calls the voice assistant (Google Assistant or Siri on iPhone).
  • A long press. Rejects incoming call.

If you need to turn up the music or switch tracks, you have to take out your smartphone. It is impossible to understand the logic behind this decision. Is calling the voice assistant more important for stereo headphones than switching tracks??

In addition, there is no app for AirDots, which means it is impossible to configure controls or update the device’s firmware in the future, nor is it convenient to monitor the battery charge of the case and the headphones themselves. To see the percentage of charge, you need to open the Bluetooth settings each time:

It is true that on some smartphones the percentage of charge will be displayed directly in the notification bar next to the battery of the smartphone.

The fact that you will hear the voice guidance in Chinese every time you turn on / off or connect to a smartphone does not add to the solidity of the headphones. For example, the same Samsung Galaxy Buds in such cases just give a brief beep.

There is another problem associated with the principle of Xiaomi AirDots. The right earphone is the main one here, it connects to the smartphone. When you take out the left earphone, it connects to the right. As a result, it often happens that when you take the headphones out of the case and turn on the music, only the right earpiece starts to play, and after a couple of seconds it joins the left.

over, sometimes while listening to music, the left earpiece can periodically turn off for 1-2 seconds. But this happens quite rarely.

As for the range of the Bluetooth-signal, the manufacturer declares the sound transmission up to 10 meters. In reality, outdoors AirDots can easily keep in touch and at a farther distance (provided that between the headphones and smartphone there is no obstacle, including trees).

There is no active noise cancelling. But because of its design (remember, these are in-channel headphones) Xiaomi AirDots have good sound insulation. The noise of the street is not heard even at 50% volume.

When watching videos on YouTube no problems occur, but during the games there may be a delay in sound. For example, in the game PUBG you will be killed before you hear the sound of the shot. And this is a common problem for Bluetooth headphones such as the AirDots from Xiaomi or Galaxy Buds from Samsung. So if you plan to use them for gaming pay attention to this.

Review of Xiaomi AirDots. Autonomy

The battery capacity of headphones 40 mAh, battery capacity in the case 300 mAh. The duration of the device directly depends on the volume. When listening to music at 70% volume, the headphones last about 3 hours and 40 minutes.

To charge it, you need to put the AirDots in the case. Charging time is about 1 hour. The case itself is connected by cable to the USB port of your computer or any power adapter for 5 volts, and while charging the indicator on the case is lit.

Xiaomi. Air Dots. Are they that bad? [Xiaomify]

It is impossible to know the percentage of charge of the case itself. Once it is fully charged, the indicator simply stops glowing red.

Charging time of the case is about 2 and a half hours and the capacity is enough to fully charge the headphones 4 times, getting a total of about 16 hours of listening to music.

When the charge is 10%, the smartphone receives a notification. The headphone indicators do not indicate low charge and do not light up at all when listening to music.

Xiaomi AirDots review. Answers to questions

At the end of the review we would like to answer the frequently asked questions regarding the AirDots headphones:

Where you can see the percentage of charge of the headphones and the case?

It’s impossible to find out even the approximate level of the case charge, it either charges the headphones or doesn’t give any sign of life. The only light is on only during charging.

The charge of the headphones themselves is displayed in the Bluetooth settings or in the bar next to the battery on the smartphone (on some devices).

Can AirDots take showers??

No. The headphones do not have any dust or moisture protection at all, so it is not recommended to use them even in the rain.

Is it possible to use the headphones one by one?

Yes, each earphone can work individually as a headset or for listening to music. If you take the right earphone out of the case, it will automatically connect to the device. If you then take out the left one, it will join the right one and both headphones will continue to work as a pair.

If you take the left earphone out of the case first, then the right earphone will not connect to the left earphone and the two will not play simultaneously. This is because the main (master) earphone is only on the right, and the left is the slave.

How to put AirDots in pairing mode?

When you take the headphones out of the case, they automatically go into pairing mode and are available to connect on any device. Pressing the touchpad for a couple of seconds, they are disconnected. With a long press (2 seconds) you can switch the headphones back on again, activating the pairing mode. But you can’t connect them that easily.

How to connect AirDots to your smartphone or computer?

To connect the headphones to any device, do the following:

  • Search for Bluetooth devices on your smartphone or computer
  • Take the right earphone out of the case, the light on the earphone will blink white
  • Once you see Mi AirDots BASIC_R in the list of Bluetooth devices, select that device and connect the headphone.
  • Take the left earphone out of the case and it automatically connects to the right one

Do AirDots work with the iPhone?

Yes, AirDots work seamlessly with any smartphone, including the iPhone. The connection principle is the same. It is necessary to go to the settings of Bluetooth and follow the procedure described above.

How to connect AirdDots to multiple devices?

When you take the headphones out of the case, they will automatically connect to the device you last used them with. To connect them to something else, do the following

  • Place the headphones in the case
  • Turn off Bluetooth on the device they were working with the last time (or turn off the device itself)
  • Now repeat the procedure described above (in the answer to the question about how to connect AirDots to your smartphone)

What to do if the AirDots do not connect to the device or the left earphone does not work (does not connect to the right earphone)?

In this case, you can reset all the settings of the headphones to the factory settings (do the so-called Hard Reset):

  • Place the headphones in the case and make sure both headphones are charged
  • Take out the headphones and turn them off by pressing the touch pads for 5 seconds (until the indicators light up red). Releasing the buttons.
  • Press both headphones again for 20 seconds, after 10 seconds the indicators light up white, do not let go of the touch buttons for another 10 seconds until the indicators start flashing.
  • Putting the headphones in the case.

Now to connect to the device you need to follow the procedure described in the answer to the question of how to connect AirDots to any device.

Xiaomi AirDots definitely can not be called a perfect product. This has advantages and disadvantages. On the one hand an attractive price, good build and quality sound, on the other hand ill-conceived controls, poor functionality and occasional inconveniences, such as disconnection of the left earpiece while listening.

Despite a number of shortcomings, these headphones are still noteworthy and can compete with the Samsung Galaxy Buds and Apple Airpods. They win at the expense of better sound (in both quality and volume).

The AirDots are pretty white and have no wires, so if you are not bothered by the fact that you have to control your music from your smartphone and you are not afraid of occasional problems, such as one of the headphones turning off, you can safely buy this product.

Review: Wireless bluetooth headphones Xiaomi AirDots. Tell apple “I’m sorry for so much money” and buy Airdots

Wireless Bluetooth headphones AirDots.I once wanted wireless headphones Airpods. It’s something about iPhones. These are nice white, like the original, but without wires. And here they cost 15 thousand. I immediately changed my mind to take it.

But. There is a fancy Xiaomi store now. According to my observations, more and more people are buying phones and robot vacuum cleaners there (Now they sell everything, including toothbrushes and pastes with men’s socks). And there I found some Air Dots. It is like Airpods only AirDots.

The consultant said that the difference from the apple 1%. This of course I do not know, but they certainly interested me that’s for sure. And after a couple of weeks I was ripe for a purchase.

They cost much less than apple headphones. And with the gift money I made myself a great present.

In front of me the guys charged them up and let me play and take a closer look. I wanted them even more and they brought me a new package that no one had unpacked before.

I got them as you can see for 5490. Since I was given money for headphones, I bought them without hesitation. But if at heart you’re a toad like me then, you can order them on Aliexpress for 3500. But keep in mind that there is a store, checks, warranties, and what comes to you from China is unclear (I personally think that the normal everything will come and in another situation would have written them directly from China)

After I’ve been using them for a month, I’ll tell you what’s what. And it makes sense all Xiaomi is a Chinese brand and in the instructions you will not find a single Russian word. The adviser said that in case of any questionable situation to turn to YouTube.

The instructions in Chinese I opened only when writing this review. It would be better to use youtube.

Here it is a cherished box. It was decided to take photos against a green background. And on the white all merges. On top of the logo “mi” from Xiaomi.

As we can see the headphones to put it mildly different from Apple’s Airpods. In the box are held on a magnet. During charging, the indicator light turns red.

There are some numbers I think on battery capacity. It turns out there is a battery in the headphones and in the box from which they recharge.

Also present indicator and white. This left earpiece I used, and it has a white light when using it.

The box is tiny. Easily fits in the palm of my hand. Or in your But if you carry it in a purse or wherever, it tends to get dirty quickly. That’s why I sometimes rub it.

The size of the headphones is small. The shape is very strange. But it is real to figure out.

If you look closely, the headphones have the letters R L (left, right). The two metal dots are what they cling to the box and get power. They cling magnetically and fit into the right shape.

About plugging in. Switching on Bluetooth and looking for a name that makes sense. Depending on the earphone, it will ask you to connect to the left or right one. I usually use one earphone. I take the right one and connect. No passwords needed of course.

If we want to connect to both at once, we take the right one first, then connect, then the left one and it will connect automatically. This is the sequence. If you start with the left one, nothing happens. If you pull both at once, also a failure.

I haven’t looked in the bluetooth section for a long time now, as it automatically connects in one second.

You take the headphone, he mutters something to you in Chinese (probably something like “ready to use” and go)

This is what the headset looks like in my ear. I call it a hearing aid myself. I think the apple ones would have been nicer, but what can I do. I can’t see under my hair. The headset itself is touch-sensitive. With a tap on the earpiece, you can turn the music on or off. And if you start tapping nervously, because one touch works after three seconds, then Siri will show up and start worrying. But she can be negotiated. I just usually say, “No,” and she disappears hurt.

Such a little nice thing turned out to come with the headphones. Interchangeable vacuums, different sizes.

I have a little irritation in my ear for a long time listening because of this vacuum. It itches and sweats. That’s why I use the headphones one at a time. And for safety’s sake, it’s better. With two at once it is unclear what is going on outside.

Oh, yeah. I completely forgot about charging. In a month of using them I have charged them 4 times from the computer. At the same time on a charge they were no more than an hour, while I went to lunch break. But I only listened to one earphone at a time and I have to charge it once a week. If I listened to both at once the result would be appropriate.

To summarize. Advantages:-No wires, you can swivel your head 360 degrees. No that nautical knot confusion when listening.-The battery charge has never caught me unawares. The screen always shows you when the earpiece starts to run out of power.-Do not flip out when active. I think they would be good for working out. Personally, nothing has ever fallen out of my ear. (But it’s better not to risk it). Price. The cost from Xiaomi is three times less than from Apple. The pleasure is the sameFits any device. I personally tested the iPhone and meizu.-You are fashionable and modern and happy.

Minor drawbacks:-If you listen to it for a long time, your ear itches and sweats. Don’t have to do anything like alternate earbuds.-People from the outside are trying to communicate with you and you don’t notice it. They think you are deaf or hard of hearing, not implying that there is an earpiece in your ear. Although if you’re an introvert, this point rises to the pros.-Appearance Apple would be to me prettierProbably the sound in Apple is better than in these AirDots, because they are vacuum. But I’m not a nerd, for me and there is a great sound.-No info in Russian. YouTube to the rescue.-Remember Aliexpress. There you will order them for 3500, not 5500 as in the official store.-Over time, I think the battery will run out faster, because nothing is everlasting. And then what to do but to buy new ones I do not know. But I think they should last a year in good condition.

I am completely satisfied with this purchase and do not know how I lived without them. Do not regret buying it. I have no regrets about the AirDots and not the pods.

Iphones are hated more and more, Xiaomi is becoming a good competitor in the market.

Review: Xiaomi Redmi AirDots Bluetooth Wireless Headphones. Good combination of price and quality

Hello everyone! How many of my subscribers are music lovers who can’t imagine their life without music? Personally, I am always and everywhere with headphones, can not without favorite tracks! The wired headphones from my iPhone 6 are high quality and bassy, but it’s awfully annoying to have wires that are always tangled, getting in the way everywhere. Buy Apple Airpods stingy so I opted for Xiaomi Redmi AirDots. cheap and cheap. By the way, there are different wireless Airpods replica headphones on sale for 200-300. with a terrible connection to the smartphone, disgusting sound and weak battery, that’s them do not even look. Waste money. So, our average version (not the cool Apple, and not a shitty nome). Xiaomi Redmi AirDots was purchased on Alike for 1100. The seller shipped my order quickly and I received it at my post office 3 weeks later. The headphones came to me in a simple and small box with the logo Mi.

The box does not shine with information in Russian. Although on the back side of the box among Chinese hieroglyphs you can see the technical specifications of our wireless headphones.

The package of airdots standard, has all the necessary minimum, which will be used: no unnecessary waste, USB-cords, etc. See for yourself:

In the bag waiting for us two pairs of spare “vacuum” earplugs. the more so in this model they are not quite standard, a little smaller in size.

The instruction booklet Redmi airdots will be useful only for the Chinese. The package contains not a single word in English, about Russian I’ll say nothing.

But in the manual a lot of pictures, schematically shows how the headphones work, how to put them on, turn on, etc. But it is easier to understand in practice! They are simpler than they seem at first sight.

And now the most interesting! Wireless headphones Xiaomi are in a special case-charger. Mega-comfortable thing, made of a very unfortunate cheap frosted plastic. My headphones are 2 months, the case with me everywhere, a few times fell on the pavement. So the condition is not so presentable. Because of the frosted plastic surface all scratches are visible!(

The case opens easily and closes tightly. The accidental opening (for example in the purse with a bunch of stuff we carry with us) is almost unreal.

At the back of there is a jack for a classic micro-USB cable. I repeat, the included charger cord is not, but it’s no big deal, I’m sure every home has at least one such wire!

On the bottom of our case there is some information in Chinese, too, in my case it is almost unreadable because of wear and tear.

SIM-SIM, open up! Isn’t it beautiful?? When I saw it for the first time, I honestly got an aesthetic pleasure. What technology has come to! The right and left earbuds are in individual storage/charging holes. It’s unrealistic to swap them, just like putting the left earphone in the right ear.

During charging and always when they are “on station” the red lights on the airdot light up.

The earphone pads have charger contacts through which the Redmi airdots receive current.

My headphones are black (I really wanted white or any light-colored, but could not find them). I like that they are miniature, they do not look like a headset. A white light comes on in the earphone, which is connected to a smartphone.

Round pins on the headphones themselves. I pay attention to the anatomical shape of Xiaomi wireless headphones. Each earphone fits perfectly in the right ear (left/right), like a fit.

It’s easy to get them out of the case (especially if you don’t have long nails). Well even I manage it most of the time the first time. ๐Ÿ™‚

In the center of the headphone pads are located. Very comfortable, pleasant to the touch. When pressed, they make a slight “click”. It was interesting to take a picture of the headphones “on the base” with different indicators. The left earpiece appears to have been used a bit more.

You have to be careful with the case, it’s really flimsy. Every now and then the lid falls off when you open it. The connection between the base and its cover is extremely unreliable.

But no matter how many disadvantages the headphone case (not to be confused with the headphones), I still love this device for its size. Lightweight, small and cute even with lots of scratches, I always have it handy.

I charge the base as a precaution. Never yet had the headphones run out of power because the case itself also ran out of power. As you understand it serves as a mobile power bank for our airdots. Went with the case for at least a week without recharging, the headphones did not complain! Not bad, what do you think? Pretty sure the Apple Airpods wouldn’t last a few days without power.

While the case is actively charging, the red light also comes on when charging is over. it fades out.

Redmi airdots work by Bluetooth connection with the smartphone. Connecting them to your phone (in my case a sixth iPhone) is easy. Turn on Bluetooth, then in the found devices appears first the right (main), then the left earpiece. The phone finds them as Redmi AirDots_L and Redmi AirDots_R. Press the right earbud button, put on both earbuds, which will signal the connection first one by one, then synchronously. You can enjoy your favorite music!

The first Connect with smartphone is the most complicated (with button presses). Subsequently, the headphones themselves understand when they are put on/off in the case. Smart! If you want to disconnect the headphones for a while without taking them out of your ear, you can simply press one of the headphone buttons. They will go silent immediately. Turn it back on in the same way with the built-in button. The sound quality of the airdots is far from perfect! I personally miss the depth of sound, the bass. Again, compared to the standard headphones from the iPhone. I adjusted the equalizer on the phone and set the default there “bass”, the situation slightly improved. The Redmi wireless headphones never fall off, never mess up during playback. Bluetooth is “visible” in the whole apartment, but I usually keep my smartphone with me. I shut my eyes to the sound (not for composers :), the headphones work more than confidently, with good conscience! They fit comfortably in my ear as if they were plugged in. And not too conspicuous. I cover my ears most of the time with my hair and in winter under a hat. Camouflage of the headphones is successful! And no wires. The only disadvantage is that you have to get used to the vacuum plugs, which have a special feel inside the ear, plus they completely block out the sounds from the outside.

What can I say as a result? I am 100% satisfied with the purchase! The product fully justifies its price. For 1100 it is difficult to find wireless ears of better quality. Xiaomi, as always, well done! Now to briefly summarize the pros and cons of the Xiaomi Redmi AirDots.PLUSES: price; appearance. tiny, ergonomic, stylish; comfortable in the ear; stable connection with the smartphone (does not fall off); excellent charge capacity; easy to use; when you adjust the EQ they give out a normal sound.

MINUSES:- Flimsy carrying case (scratches, the lid is almost hanging on by a thread). The sound is much worse than wired ones.

Resetting Xiaomi headphones (Redmi AirDots, Earbuds, True Wireless Earphones)

In this article I will show how to reset Xiaomi headphones to factory settings and synchronize the headphones with each other. Many people refer to this process as “overloading” or “resetting the headphones”. You can also. The manual will fit all models: Mi True Wireless Earbuds Basic 2, Air 2, Redmi AirDots, True Wireless Earphones, Air 2 SE, Air 2 Pro, AirDots Pro, etc. ะด. I am talking about all wireless headphones of TWS format from Xiaomi.

Why reset? When headphones do not work or do not work as expected. For example the headphones stop connecting to the phone or other device, the phone does not see the headphones, only one earphone connects and works, i.e. the right and left earphones work separately. Resetting can also solve the problem with audio interruption and when the headphones themselves disconnect from the phone. If your Xiaomi headphones do not work as they should. do a factory reset. In fact, this is the only solution you can apply yourself. For the rest. go to the service center.

Depending on the model, the resetting is done differently. Even on different versions of the same model, the resetting process can be different. I will show you several options in the instructions. If one does not work. apply the other. It will work! After resetting Xiaomi headphones synchronize with each other automatically. You need to wait 10 seconds and you can connect them. Sync, this is when one earphone connects to the other to work in stereo mode.
