Xiaomi 4 watch is waterproof or not

Xiaomi Mi Band 4 and Honor Band 4. Comparison of the best fitness bracelets

Despite the external similarity, the fitness bracelets Mi Band 4 and Honor Band 4 are completely different devices, with a different set of features and capabilities. The choice is complicated by the fact that both bracelets have almost the same price.

Detailed reviews of these trackers have already been published on our website and are available at the following links: Honor Band 4 review and Xiaomi Mi Band 4 review.

If you’re interested in more details, be sure to read these materials. In the same article, we will compare fitness trackers with each other in detail to help with choosing the best option.

Design and ergonomics. Which is more convenient to use?

Wristbands have a different design. Whereas the Mi Band 4 is a capsule that slides into the strap, the Honor Band 4 is more like a classic watch, with two parts of the strap attached to each side of the bracelet:

xiaomi, watch, waterproof

Option from Xiaomi is much more convenient for several reasons. First of all, this design is completely devoid of mechanical parts. On the Honor Band 4, it is theoretically possible to break both the strap lock and the attachment itself on the bracelet or capsule:

Xiaomi Mi Band 4 Water Test!

As for the Mi Band 4, there’s simply nothing to break. over, the strap covers the side edges of the capsule, which gives additional protection.

Another advantage of Xiaomi Mi Band 4 is the number, variety and availability of interchangeable straps from the simplest silicone to metal bracelets and straps of leather.

And the last thing you should pay attention to is the fixation of the strap. On the Honor Band 4, it sometimes clings to clothing and various objects, and does not look as aesthetically pleasing.

The design of the two devices is also slightly different. Mi Band 4 has a smoother slashing line, while Honor Band 4 looks sterner. Here’s how both bracelets look on a man’s and a woman’s wrist:

Can these bracelets swim??

If the answer is yes, in short, without the slightest fear. Both devices are water resistant to 50 meters according to the current ISO 22810:2010 standard (see ISO 22810:2010). details in our article What is ISO 22810:2010?). During the tests, the bracelet must be able to withstand the appropriate pressure even with active use.

This wording is very different from the obsolete ISO 2281 standard accepted in the watch world, where 30 meters water resistance is not even sufficient to wash your hands under the tap without any risk to your watch.

The only formal difference between the Mi Band 4 is a different marking of the GB/T 30106-2013 standard. But, in fact, this is the Chinese equivalent of the European standard ISO 22810:2010.

Wristband screens

Both bracelets have identical screen characteristics color AMOLED matrix, size 0.95 and a resolution of 120240 pixels. The screens of the two bracelets are covered by tempered glass, which, of course, will be scratched.

The displays do not occupy the entire front surface of the trackers and this is clearly visible under a certain angle or lighting:

Both screens are very bright, visibility in the sun is good. Since the bracelets do not have a light sensor, only manual brightness adjustment is supported.

You can optionally turn on Night Mode to lower the brightness at night. Interestingly, these modes work differently on the two bracelets. On the Honor Band 4, the minimum brightness in night mode depends on the selected brightness in normal mode. In other words the regular brightness is just reduced by a certain percentage.

On the Xiaomi Mi Band 4 in night mode, the brightness just drops to the minimum value, regardless of the normal mode settings.

Among other features, it is worth noting that both bracelets have an accelerometer and gyroscope, as well as an identical heart rate sensor. The Honor Band 4 connects to your smartphone via Bluetooth 4.2, while the Mi Band 4 supports Bluetooth 5.0. And in real life, it is felt. When the Honor Band 4’s connection to the phone breaks, the Xiaomi bracelet continues to work steadily. The only note is that your smartphone must also have Bluetooth 5 support.0, otherwise the connection would be via Bluetooth 4.2.

Let’s summarize the brief characteristics of the two trackers:

This is nothing compared to the modest capabilities of the Honor Band 4, where only 4 dials are available:

over, the bracelet from Xiaomi supports third-party watch faces, of which there are already about 400 pieces on AmazfitWatchfaces alone:

You can’t install new watch faces other than the four standard ones on the Honor Band 4, and it completely loses out to the Mi Band 4 in terms of customization.

Both bracelets have a number of built-in apps. The Honor Band 4 is equipped with Stopwatch, Timer and Phone Finder. On the Mi Band 4, this list is complemented by more apps such as: Music, Weather, and Alarm Clock.

The Honor Band 4 has a more convenient timer. You can time and close the app to continue using the bracelet. When you start the timer on Mi Band 4, all other functions become inaccessible, you can’t even know the current time until the countdown is over.

Otherwise, the Mi Band 4 wins again. Music control is a very handy feature, allowing you to switch tracks and adjust the volume. What’s more, it works with any app on your smartphone whether it’s Google Music, YouTube, or even MX Player. You can connect your wristband and wireless headphones to your phone at the same time, controlling your music directly from the Mi Band.

You can see the current air temperature on the Honor Band 4, but it’s only displayed on one of the dials. The Xiaomi bracelet, on the other hand, has a full-fledged application that, in addition to temperature, shows the weather conditions and a detailed four-day weather forecast.

Unlike the Mi Band 4, you can’t turn the alarm clock on or off on the Honor Band 4. You do this by using an app on your smartphone.

Always On Display (AOD mode) is not supported on either bracelet

Neither the Honor Band nor the Mi Band knows how to display the time when the display is off. The screen turns on only by a wave of the hand or by pressing a touch button. Gesture-based screen activation speed is identical on the two devices.

Which wristband is the best to use for sleep analysis??

Both bracelets are able to monitor your sleep, determining the time you fell asleep and woke up, sleep phases and the number of awakenings during the night. But they do it in very different ways.

Thanks to TruSleep technology, Honor Band 4 tracks sleep very accurately. To better understand how much the Honor Band 4 outperforms the Mi Band 4 in this regard, let’s compare their sleep reports.

Night 1. The bracelets showed about the same report, but the level of detail on the Honor Band 4 is much higher:

Night 2. Mi Band 4 completely failed the test, incorrectly determining the time of going to sleep (error 2 hours) and did not show any details. Honor’s bracelet handled the build perfectly, as always:

The Mi Fit app additionally shows a comparison of your sleep with the average values of other users, and Huawei Health (Honor Band 4 app) shows a detailed analysis of each sleep phase with recommendations for its improvement.

Honor Band 4 is also able to track daytime sleep:

And the last not insignificant difference is the presence of a smart alarm clock on the Honor Band 4. If you want, the bracelet can wake you up a little earlier than the set time if you’re in the light sleep phase.

To be fair, it’s worth noting that the Mi Band 4 can also account for daytime sleep if you connect it to a third-party app rather than Mi Fit.

What is better for training and step counting?

The bracelets count steps about the same, the error is about 300 steps per 10,000. The activity report for the day on the Mi Band 4 looks like this:

The bracelet automatically detects the type of activity and details the entire day by watch. Honor Band 4, on the other hand, shows only the total result for the day:

However, the Honor Band 4 has an interesting system of rewards for various achievements. In developing the medals the company was clearly inspired by Apple (the Activity app). Here’s what these achievements look like on the smartphone:

The bracelets do not know how to count the floors passed, because they are not equipped with sensors of atmospheric pressure.

In terms of workouts, Honor Band 4 and Xiaomi Mi Band 4 are very similar to each other. The list of available workouts is about the same and includes:

Detect and record workouts in automatic mode is not able to Mi Band 4 or Honor Band 4. So far, similar functionality is only available on bracelets from Samsung.

Also bracelets are not able to build a route of jogging or cycling, because it requires a GPS-module, which is not present here. However, when using the bracelet and phone together, Mi Band 4 and Honor Band 4 connect to your smartphone’s GPS module.

Cycling is tracked only when you start the corresponding workout manually. That said, the bracelets necessarily require a connection to your smartphone to access the GPS. Otherwise, the workout will not be triggered. However, on the Honor Band 4, you can select Bicycle Exerciser and then the bracelet will record information about heart rate, calories burned and total workout time without GPS.

Swimming

Given the excellent level of moisture protection, both fitness trackers allow you to track swimming. Report detail on the Mi Band 4 is no match for the Honor Band 4. If you swim a few laps, changing the style of swimming, the bracelet from Xiaomi will not show it:

And here’s what the same swim looks like, but with the Honor Band 4 (both trackers were worn on the same hand):

Here we see a segment breakdown, with a clear indication of swimming style, performance index (SWOLF) and pace. There is much more information.

The heart rate during the swim is not recorded by either bracelet.

Working with notifications

Notification handling is better organized on the Mi Band 4 bracelet. To be sure, let’s briefly list the main differences:

Both bracelets recorded a maximum heart rate of 145 beats per minute. The average is slightly different, as the Mi Band 4 graph clearly shows the loss of signal near the end of the workout (the bracelets were worn on one hand, which could cause problems).

Honor Band 4 has one very useful feature the bracelet can report when the upper heart rate threshold is exceeded during workouts. You set the maximum value, the app calculates the heart rate zone based on it, and now as soon as your heart rate reaches this mark, the bracelet will vibrate and the workout will be blocked until your heart rate recovers.

Only heart rate information will be displayed on the full screen.

Unfortunately, the Mi Band 4 doesn’t have that feature. Here there is a slightly similar functionality, but working on a completely different principle. The bracelet can also notify of an elevated heart rate, but only at rest. That is, if for the past 10 minutes there has been no activity, but the heart rate has risen sharply Mi Band 4 will give the appropriate warning.

By the way, the Honor Band 4 also has this feature.

Xiaomi Mi Band 4 or Honor Band 4? Or draw conclusions

As you can see, each bracelet has its own advantages and disadvantages. It is impossible to call one bracelet unequivocally better than the other, and you need to choose based on what is more important to you.

Why choose Xiaomi Mi Band 4?

There are a number of reasons why a bracelet from Xiaomi would be the best choice:

  • reliable and durable design
  • Support for an unlimited number of watch faces, as well as the availability of a huge number of third-party straps and bracelets. Thanks to this, Mi Band 4 will not get bored soon.
  • Ability to control music and smartphone volume. Especially convenient when connecting wireless headphones.
  • Wider range thanks to Bluetooth 5.0 BLE
  • Best battery life
  • Ability to connect the bracelet not only to the branded Mi Fit app, but also to many other third-party apps

Why choose Honor Band 4?

This wristband has its strengths and will be chosen for the following reasons:

FeaturesXiaomi Mi Band 4Honor Band 4
Display type Color AMOLED Color AMOLED
Screen size 0, 95 inch 0.95 inch
Screen resolution 240120 pixels 240120 pixels
Sensor Type Touchscreen Touchscreen

Bluetooth Bluetooth 5.0 Bluetooth 4.2 BLE
Accelerometer 6-axis 6-axis
Dimensions 46.9 × 17.9 × 12 mm 43×17,2×11,5 (body)
Weight 22 grams 23 grams

With the release of the Mi Band 4 Xiaomi continued the idea of the line. This is still the same oval capsule, inserted into the silicone wristband. To the delight of Xiaomi Mi Band 3 owners who decide to upgrade to the new version, the manufacturer did not change the size of the capsule, so the straps and bracelets from Mi Band 3 can be used with the new tracker. So there are plenty of options for customizing the bracelet even after it is launched. On the same Aliexpress can pick up a metal bracelet or strap for every taste.

For the Honor Band 4 you can also choose alternative bracelets or straps, but their choice is not so wide. The clasp of the standard Mi Band 4 and Honor Band 4 straps is different. The Honor Band 4 has the more robust classic clasp, the Mi Band 4 has the traditional “tooth” of the line.

The capsule itself on the Honor Band 4 is more compact and also has a slightly curved shape, so it seems more comfortable on the hand, but this is purely a subjective opinion.

The screen

One of the major innovations of Xiaomi Mi Band 4 is a color screen instead of a monochrome screen. Compared to its predecessor, it is 39.9% larger. So Mi Band 4 or, Mi Smart Band 4 outside of the Chinese market got a 0.95-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 240120 pixels. The Honor Band 4 has exactly the same screen and both bracelets use tempered glass to protect the screen from shocks and scratches. There is no difference in brightness at first glance.

What the Mi Band 4 wins over its competitor is the number of dials. At the moment, the Honor bracelet has only 4 of them, and the Mi Band 4 has as many as 50, and over time their number may increase even more.

Functionality

Both fitness trackers are equipped with the same set of sensors, including an optical heart rate sensor and a 6-axis accelerometer, so their functionality is very similar. Both can automatically detect basic activities, including swimming (both are waterproof up to 50 meters), assess sleep quality, measure heart rate, count steps, calories and distance.

Mi Band 4 came into our hands only a few days ago, so we have not yet had time to fully compare all the data obtained with the bracelets. Heart rate both measure with a difference of 1. 2 beats, but, unlike the Honor Band 4, the sensor bracelet Xiaomi finds the heart rate of any inanimate object, which, however, the accuracy of measurements have no effect. The difference between the number of steps and calories consumed is insignificant.

Both bracelets support call and message notifications, app notifications, weather information, alarms and timers, smartphone search, activity reminders, etc.д. Mi Band 4 still has problems with message display (spaces between letters), but usually this flaw is fixed with one of the next updates.

Xiaomi has added a music player control function to its new fitness bracelet, something its opponent doesn’t have. Also Mi Band 4, unlike Honor Band 4, has a warning function about the heart rate out of the set range.

Communications

The Honor Band 4 uses Bluetooth 4 to pair with your smartphone.2, and its opponent Bluetooth 5.0. On paper, Bluetooth 5.0 has a wider range, provides faster data transfer and it’s also more energy efficient.

Both Honor and Xiaomi have versions of fitness bracelets with an NFC module for contactless payments. For now, they will only be useful for users from China, so there is no point in dwelling on them. By the way, from the standard version of the Mi Band 4 version with NFC is also different in the presence of a speaker to “communicate” with the voice assistant (Chinese), as well as to control the equipment from the “smart home”.

Autonomy

Xiaomi bracelets have always been known for excellent battery life, and the new version is no exception. Together with the screen increased battery capacity to 135 mAh, so the battery life is up to 20 days. The Honor Band 4 battery capacity of 100 mAh provides up to 14 days of battery life. On the other hand, if both devices turn the screen to maximum, notifications and constant heart rate monitoring, then both will have to charge about once every 4-7 days, that is, the difference is not so big.

Xiaomi Mi Band 4 or Honor Band 4: which is better?

Definitely answer the question of which of these two bracelets is better, it is very difficult. They have almost the same set of features and functions, and yet cost the same. So far, the Xiaomi Mi Band 4 slightly beats the Honor Band 4 thanks to the music player control function and Bluetooth 5 support.0. On the other hand, the Honor Band 4 was introduced almost a year ago, so we can say that Xiaomi “invented” the Honor Band 4 and added a few new features. Well, let’s wait to see how Huawei responds by releasing the Honor Band 5.

If we talk about the price, in the Chinese market Mi Band 4 was priced at 25 dollars for the regular version and at 33 dollars for a version with NFC. At launch, the Honor Band 4 was priced at 29. Now both devices will cost about 30 at any Chinese online store.

Below you will find links to sellers from Aliexpress with a large number of orders and positive reviews.

Xiaomi Mi Band 4

And now it’s been a year since the release of version 3 of the people’s fitness bracelet. Xiaomi is not going to stop there and releases the Mi Smart Band 4. The bracelet has undergone significant improvements in both appearance and functionality.

I got the simplest version without NFC module for review. Let’s take a closer look at it.

Appearance and Package

The bracelet’s box has grown noticeably, measuring 170 mm x 76 mm x 23 mm, and weighing 64 grams.

Judging by the trend, Xiaomi decided to abandon minimalism, although in the box only the bracelet itself, charging and instructions:

The package is quite standard, but in the box a lot of empty space (which can fit an additional strap). The design of the bracelet has undergone small changes compared to version 3:

There is a small edge on the front side, which recesses the main screen a little deeper. This is most likely done to reduce the possibility of scratching the bracelet. The borders of the active part of the screen are clearly visible in strong light:

The screen is dirty, fingerprints remain from any touch. The front side is completely flat, without deepening under the button. Note the presence of NFC module can be determined by the designation on the button, the version without NFC it is round, and in the extended version. semicircle.

In addition to measuring your heart rate, the bracelet knows how to automatically lock when you take it off your arm. This feature is useful when using the bracelet to make payments, for us it is of little use.

On the side, as usual, there is the product code XMSH07HM:

The strap is compatible with the third version of the watch, a definite plus that ensures interchangeability. No special changes here, the capsule sits firmly, on the hand is comfortable.

But things are a little sadder with charging. The thing is that its format has changed and is not compatible with previous versions. Now it is a full-size capsule:

The cable length is 12 centimeters. And I do not understand why they can not make charging with a magnetic connection so you can not take the bracelet out of the strap.

Bracelet looks a little bulky on the hand, but it is not felt when you wear it.

Features of the Mi Smart Band 4 bracelet

Since I have a Chinese version of the bracelet, the specifications on the box are also in Chinese:

The manufacturer Xiaomi Mi
Model HMSH07HM
Degree of protection 5 atm (immersion up to 50 meters)
Screen AMOLED 0.95 inches, 120 x 240 px
Power 135mAh Li-ion battery
Communication modules Bluetooth 5.0 BLE
Additional Features Gyroscope, Accelerometer, Pulseometer
Dimensions (case) 17.9 x 46.9 x 12.7 mm
Weight 22 gr. (with strap)

Some points worth looking at in more detail.

Mi Band 4 screen

The first color screen in the Mi Band lineup, and with AMOLED technology, too (it doesn’t have a separate backlight, each pixel is illuminated separately).

The screen has a diagonal of 0.95 inch, 120×240 px resolution. Color depth is 24 bits and brightness is 400 Nits. All this is overlaid with a capacitive touch screen and tempered 2.5D glass AF coating. At rest, the screen is off, sometimes you have to twist your hand unnecessarily to turn it on. The screen fits about 100 Cyrillic characters, so you can read an incoming message without any problems.

If you do not like these obscure parameters, personal impressions: the screen is quite clear. Brightness is enough, but in sunny weather you have to turn it to maximum, here the bracelet is clearly losing to Amazfit Bip, with its transflective screen technology.

The sensor is sensitive, even the navigation buttons media player responds without question.

Mi Band 4 protection

And protection increased, the level of 5 ATM allows you to swim in the pool without worrying about the bracelet. But I would not steamed in the bath, there is a chance to kill the battery.

The screen is protected by tempered glass, no scratches appeared in 2 weeks of wear, this may be due to the changed shape of the screen. And then time will tell, but watching the videos on YouTube, I can be sure that the scratches will appear for sure.

Data transfer protocol

A Bluetooth that has been updated, now using version 5.0 BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy). It is characterized by higher data transfer rates (up to 1.4Mbps), range, and lower power consumption.

If your phone does not support this version of Bluetooth, do not be sad. The bracelet will still connect, but without new features. My old Redmi Note 3 Pro only supports Bluetooth 4.1, but even on it I noticed a significant increase in range, compared to the Amazfit Bip. If the Bip sometimes loses connection even within the apartment, for the Mi Band already need to go down a floor and a half.

Battery

The version without NFC consumes about 5% per day, which means it should last about 20 days on a single charge. Takes from 1 to a full charge.5 to 2 hours. The performance is quite good for a color screen, the main role played by the increased battery of 135 mAh and AMOLED screen. I wish there was a normal magnetic charging.

Xiaomi Mi Smart Band 4 menu

Let’s see what we can see on the bracelet itself:

Status

It shows the number of steps and kilometers walked, calories burned, and number of notifications.

Pulse

This item displays the current status of your heart rate.

Training

This one has a choice of 6 workout modes: Outdoor Running, Treadmill, Biking, Walking, Exercise and Swimming. During the workout itself, the screen will display: Time, distance, speed, and heart rate:

All information does not fit on the screen at once, you have to scroll.

Weather

Weather display for today as well as for the next 5 days.

Notifications

In this menu item you can view the last notifications you received. Depending on the type, the message subject will be displayed, or its

Optional

In the advanced settings you can activate the Do Not Disturb mode, enable or disable preset alarms, use a timer or stopwatch. Activate the silent mode on your phone, or start the phone search function. You can also change the theme of the main display, or set the brightness in the settings. And here the player control feature deserves a special mention.

Music

Finally, in the bracelet added the function of controlling music! I really missed this feature, now you can switch tracks, stop or start playback and change the volume on the watch. Despite the fact that the buttons are very small, there are no problems with operation. But there is one minus, the playback control is not available in training mode, it turns out you either train or listen to music.

But this is not all the functions, the rest can be seen in the Mi Fit app, but first you need to connect the bracelet.

Connecting the Mi Band 4 in the Mi Fit app

Before using, the Mi Band must be connected to the phone. To do this we use the application Mi Fit (which can be downloaded for both Android and iPhone). Download the app, authorize (or register an account). If you’re having trouble authenticating, try connecting through a proxy, more info here. Go to the profile tab, click on “Add device” and select the type “Bracelet”. The phone will search for available devices and will send a connection request to the Mi Band (on the bracelet itself you need to confirm the pairing).

Once connected, the bracelet will definitely want to update, in general, this operation took me about more than 12 minutes.

Since I have a Chinese version of the bracelet, at first the display was in hieroglyphs. But in the process of updating switched to English:

And starting with the Mi Fit 4 version.0.5, there is a fully russified bracelet firmware. So I do not see much point in taking the global version (the only difference will be in the box).

When the update passed, the bracelet should be displayed in the app:

Now let’s take a closer look at the functionality of the bracelet.

The functions of the Xiaomi Mi Band 4 bracelet in the app Mi Fit

In the app we can already more fully customize the bracelet. For example, change the watch face. To do this, in the profile tab, go to the bracelet settings and there will be an item called “Dial Setup”:

The number of dials is increasing every day, I think anyone can find something of their own. Now you can add a little personality to your bracelet, and that’s nice.

Next feature, Bluetooth phone unlocking.

After activating this feature, you don’t need to enter a PIN or a pattern key on your phone when unlocking the screen. If you have a fingerprint scanner, the feature is of little use.

You can set the notification of an incoming call.

You can even change the type of vibration by setting your own sequence. When you receive a call, it will look like this on the bracelet screen:

And notifications from apps will look like this:

You can set up a list of apps from which you want to receive notifications.

You can also set an alarm, or add an event. Set up a notification of the need to stretch or achieve a goal. No smart alarm function in the bracelet.

Similar to the phone search from a bracelet, you can turn on the bracelet search by making it vibrate.

You can set the frequency of heart rate measurement:

This setting has a major impact on how fast your battery will run down. In the morning the bracelet will tell you the quality of sleep last night:

But the bracelet still does not learn how to detect daytime sleep, however, it is a shame.

The app saves data on all workouts and can be found under My Workouts:

Each type of workout records its own data. Let me say right off the bat that I simulated the activity. This is swimming:

Regarding step counting, I tried counting steps and compared the bracelet readings, per thousand steps it loses 80 to 120 steps. Hopefully, will calibrate in the next firmware.

Yes, the bracelet has no GPS, location data is taken from the phone.

Mi Band 4 buy

Given the popularity of this device, it will be sold absolutely everywhere. For example in Chinese Aliexpress, or Russian FoxPox. When buying pay attention to the version, a global with NFC supports payment from some cards, you can order it here.

There is also a special series Avengers Alliance, for fans of the movie Avengers. Features a box and a different color of strap (black, blue or red with the Avengers logo on the clasp) and the ability to install unique dials.

Personal opinion about the bracelet

What’s the bottom line? The bracelet is clearly a national bestseller. Not a bad price and really advanced functionality, I was willing to take it just for the ability to control the music player. Of course, while there are some inaccuracies in the measurements, which should be corrected in a fresh update.

I intentionally did not consider Alipay, because there is only talk about the arrival of this system in Russia. And payment by QR codes (as in China) we do not have and in the near future are not expected. Same story with the NFC version, it’s not designed as a means of payment, you can’t pay for a purchase with the bracelet! In China, they pay for the fare. But if you play a trick, then the bracelet can replace your access card, or discount card.

What upset me personally. Lack of ability to control the Xiaomi smart home through the bracelet. Yes, there is no way to add it to the Mi Home app, and I doubt that such a feature will appear.

If you want to give a gift, the Mi Band 4 is great for this role. As I did with it, my girlfriend was happy with it:

If you are still having second thoughts about which version of the bracelet to buy, then first look at the 5 version of the bracelet.

The main disadvantage of Xiaomi Mi Band 4, which all buyers are horrified

Currently on sale you can find a lot of different electronic devices of wearable type, including sports bracelets and smartwatches. As their appearance improves, functionality expands, and price tags decrease, more and more people are interested in buying this kind of electronics, and it certainly has its consequences. Expressed in the fact that sales of all kinds of portable gadgets is growing rapidly, that is buying them more and more often. The most advanced on the market sports bracelet among all available for sale is the Xiaomi Mi Band 4, which was created and released last year 2019. It has been on the market for more than six months, and during this period of time, many people have managed to buy it for themselves.

This tracker, as many probably know well, is one of the most technically advanced in the market, and its software capabilities are delighting buyers. This fitness tracker boasts a small 0.95-inch OLED screen with a resolution of 240 by 120 pixels, and it is supplemented by battery capacity of 135 mAh, through which the electronic gadget works on a single charge as much as 20 days, but of course with economical use. At an average normal load, the bracelet can run without recharging for about two weeks, and maybe even less. For connection to smartphones based on operating systems Android and iOS is responsible module Bluetooth 5.0, which has support for a range of 50 meters.

Thanks to the availability of protection standard IP68 with this tracker can dive to a depth of 50 meters, doing it without unnecessary difficulties and restrictions. Again, not so long ago, nothing of this kind was available to users, but now such protection is the norm for sports bracelets. Thanks to this “feature” users can easily use Xiaomi Mi Band 4 even in the pool, not to mention taking a bath or shower with it. A special sensor reads your heart rate, and it can even be read 24/7 at intervals of a few minutes. After that, the owner of the tracker has the opportunity through the Mi Fit app for smartphones to see exactly how his heart worked during certain periods of time, which can sometimes be extremely convenient and useful.

Needless to say, that nothing in the world is amazing and perfect, so even such a stunning sports bracelet, like Xiaomi Mi Band 4, has one terrible drawback, which overshadows for many people all the benefits. In China, a special version of this tracker is sold, a full-fledged, and it has an integrated NFC chip. Due to this, users can easily and simply by using it to pay for purchases in stores and services in institutions, doing it with the payment system Mi Pay. Alas, people living outside of the Celestial Empire were deprived of such an opportunity. For some reason, the company-manufacturer of the bracelet has decided to make such a function was not available to residents of Russia, Europe, USA and other states. As a result, many are horrified that they did so, considering it the main disadvantage of this gadget.

Earlier it was reported that Xiaomi released a Smart Watch Mitu Watch 4 Pro with two cameras for hidden shooting.

Synchronization and setup

For neophytes, let’s look at how to connect the Mi Band 4 to the phone. The first synchronization is very simple, the main thing is to do it not through the settings of Bluetooth, but with the appropriate application. The algorithm is as follows:

  • Download the application Mi Fit (links for Android / iOS)
  • Run Mi Fit and choose the login method: you can create an account in the application itself, or sign in through e-mail, which is easier and faster.
  • Next, connect the Mi Band 4: go to the “Profile” tab, click “Add device” and select the “Wristband” will start searching for a gadget, which requires you to confirm the connection request by tapping the checkbox.

That’s all. our smart bracelet is ready to use. To configure the Mi Band 4 find it in the “Devices” tab and understand the available features. Everything is intuitive and well russified, so that even people who use such gadgets for the first time should not have any problems.

Mi Band 4 connects to a smartphone via Bluetooth 5.0. No complaints directly to the quality of synchronization, the connection in an open space is maintained within 30 meters. The presence of the bracelet allows you to use a convenient feature Smart Lock, in which the phone does not lock to the password / fingerprint, if the bracelet is connected and is in close proximity to it.

Review: Xiaomi Mi Band 4 fitness bracelet. The kids really like it.

I will tell you about the Xiaomi Mi Band 4 fitness bracelet that I bought for my children.

I bought it on the Internet where it was suggested to buy either the Chinese version, ie in Chinese, or a global, multilingual. I want to tell you right away that this is some kind of trickery. The Chinese version costs 1300, supposedly because it is only in Chinese. And the global version, that is, there is the Russian language 2100.

The first bracelet I bought a global, then after a better study, the second child decided to buy all the same Chinese. Nothing wrong, made an update, now everything is in Russian. So you can not spend extra money and buy cheaper.

The bracelet has a lot of different interesting functions: status, heart rate, workout, weather, notifications, and others. The status of the watch counts steps and the distance you walked per day, how many calories you burned. Of course it shows the date and time. Before you use the bracelet it must be synchronized with your smartphone.

The bracelet keeps the charge for about a month, it has a special charger in which it charges for an hour and a half. Color display.

There are interesting features if you sit or lie down for a long time come a notice of inactivity. The bracelet counts how many hours you slept, the quality of sleep, all this can be viewed on your smartphone.

The bracelet can swim, dive into the depths and he will not be anything.

You can do different backgrounds on the watch, change straps. The bracelet shows you when you call or send messages.

It is very handy when your smartphone is around and you don’t have to carry it around all the time, for example in the apartment or when working out.

Review: The Xiaomi Mi Band 4 fitness bracelet. Stylish, versatile and comfortable. Worth a closer look.

I bought it on Aliexpress and it fits in the bag! I bought the global version of the Xiaomi Mi Band in Aliexpress and today my review is about the smart bracelet Xiaomi Mi Band 4.

Fitness bracelet was sold in a box, included a charging cable and instructions.

The model is small-sized, stylish, concise design, lightweight and comfortable. The colors of the straps are varied, everyone can choose for their taste.

I bought it on Aliexpress, the global version. Usually the price ranges from 33 to 40 dollars, but I ordered an additional metal bracelet, so it came out 43 dollars.

I liked the metal bracelet (you could also choose the gold and red gold), but I always feel it on the hand, more rough and heavy.

As a result, the silicone has become the favorite, it is soft, does not chafe the hand. I read in the reviews that in the summer with it sweats a hand, I’ll find out if this is true or not probably next season.

Closes on the button, does not fly off, definitely will not lose.

I also have a fitness bracelet Huawei Honor Band 4, it has a completely different strap and find it less comfortable.

The quality of the glass is excellent, shockproof, no scratches appear, although I dropped a couple of times and not always treated the watch carefully. The bracelet has no power button. With a charged battery, the bracelet always works. The bracelet cannot work without pairing with the phone. Downloaded from Play Market Mi Fit app (for Android). No instruction needed, everything is intuitive, figured it out in a couple of minutes.

Time and date appears automatically after pairing with the phone. To charge, you need to remove the capsule from the strap, a little pull the strap, and then press the bottom of the capsule, it is easy to get.

To charge the capsule, it is enough 1 amp. Charges about 1-1.5 hours.

The screen is bright, I now have the lowest brightness, enough for me. In two weeks, an average of 45% of the charge is consumed. But it all depends on your activity.

Large selection of watch faces, set from the phone, some of them are made in Asian style, cartoon. I prefer the classic screensaver. There are only 3 designs in the bracelet itself.

Functions are quite a lot, shows time, date, monitors heart rate, counts steps. The main display not only tracks distance, but also spent calories (spent while walking, not the total amount.)

The bracelet notifies of calls, SMS and messages from social networks, all can be connected through the phone. When I work at the computer, I get messages with passwords, no need to open them from the phone, the bracelet perfectly visible numbers.

I always see who is calling, sometimes I reject calls directly from the tracker. There are activity reminders, alarm clock, stopwatch, timer.

Alarm clock for every day, weekdays, for one time, you need to set from your phone. When the time is right, they vibrate once, wake me up instantly and are not annoying.

Nice phone finder function, it sounds a melody like an incoming call. You can also find the Smart wristband from your phone, it vibrates.Liked the sleep tracking feature. Now I know how long my sleep, the phase of rapid sleep, slow sleep and awakening.Several workout modes. Running, biking, swimming pool, etc.

I periodically turn on exercise and it helps me know how many calories I’ve spent, walked kilometers, for example, when I’m cleaning the house. If you have no activity, the bracelet will remind you of it.

Set a goal. 10,000 steps per day, unfortunately with a sedentary job it is hard to meet this plan, but on the weekends I walk 2-3 times more.

I can see the weather forecast for the current day and for several days to come.

You can listen to music from the bracelet, but I do not have it on my smartphone, so it does not play. The watch is water resistant, up to 50 meters deep. I read that the manufacturers do not recommend them to dive, swim in salt water, as well as in hot water. Although there are those who do not follow these recommendations, but they work fine. I don’t take any chances yet, I always take it off when I wash.My conclusion. I liked the bracelet very much, I have not parted with it for a month, I recommend buying it.

The novelty got a new more massive charger in the form of a docking station. Unfortunately, to charge the Mi Band 4, you will have to remove the capsule from the bracelet. The capsule of the fitness tracker in the charger is inserted with a click.
