Why Xiaomi Mi Band 3 Does Not Turn On
Having ordered a new fitness bracelet via the Internet (without checking it when buying), you may find that the device is turned off and does not show any signs of life. What could be the problem and how to enable Xiaomi Mi Band 3?
The fact is that in this device there is no power button and, therefore, in the off state, it can be in only two cases: the battery is dead or the tracker is not working properly.
Low battery
The first thing to check is whether the bracelet is charging. To do this, you need to connect the cable from the kit to the Mi Band 3 and insert it into the laptop’s USB port or charge from any smartphone. If the charge indicator immediately appears on the screen. everything is fine, after an hour and a half, the fitness tracker will be fully charged and ready for use.
In the event that this does not happen, the bracelet has problems that need to be diagnosed and try to solve.
Diagnosis of problems. Issue # 1: deep discharge
During a long transportation from China, the bracelet may become so discharged that the power controller simply refuses to charge the device immediately, and therefore, when charging for a long time, no action can occur (charging indicator blinks).
Leave the bracelet on charge for a long time (for example, at night) and after the time has passed, check the result.
If Mi Band 3 has not begun to show signs of life, you can try putting it in the freezer for a while. By analogy with the Xiaomi Mi Band 2, the freezing time can vary from five minutes to two hours. After that, put the gadget on charge again.
Problem number 2: non-working display
As it turned out, some Xiaomi Mi Band 3 have problems with the display. Even if the smartphone is charged, you still will not see its charge level. There are several ways to check for this problem:
Method number 1. connecting the bracelet to the smartphone. To do this, you need to register in the Mi-account and through the Mi Fit application try to tie the bracelet to the smartphone.
While searching for a device, Xiaomi Mi Band 3 will vibrate and require you to click on its touch screen. If everything goes right, you will connect the bracelet to your mobile device, but you will get, in fact, an analog of Xiaomi Mi Band 1S Pulse in the case of Mi Band 3.
In some cases, the problem is the brightness of the screen, which is certainly a marriage. It is so low that the information on the display can be seen only in complete darkness, and even then, only after the eye adapts to similar lighting conditions.
Method number 2. Wait until the battery is fully charged. To do this, put the bracelet on charge by connecting it, for example, to a laptop. When the charge level reaches 100%, the bracelet will vibrate 2 times announcing that it can be disconnected from the charger.
Problem number 3: break the bracelet
If the above tips did not bring the desired result, most likely, Xiaomi Mi Band 3 is broken and needs to be replaced.
In the event that the device was purchased on Aliexpress, open a dispute and attach photos ands with a breakdown to the message on the refund. The seller may try to persuade you to accept its conditions, namely, to reimburse the cost of repairs in your city, but due to the features of the device, it is unlikely that anyone will undertake to repair it, and if you fail, you will no longer be able to apply for a refund, so how internal interference with the gadget will lead to the deprivation of any guarantees.
