What Is The Buffer Zone In Honor Phone

What Huawei representatives say about the buffer zone?

Fortunately, Huawei is always trying to pay attention to the communication with its consumers. And for this it is absolutely not necessary to visit the company’s representative offices without fail. There are official forums of this brand on the Web, on the pages of which the manufacturer’s representatives answer the questions asked.

Not surprisingly, one of the owners of such a mobile phone once asked what is this buffer zone? And I got an answer. What information did you find out:

  • The buffer zone in a Huawei phone is a small area of the screen specially marked at the bottom;
  • Used to display a variety of messages that inform a person about something. Most often found in game applications created for the Android OS;
  • Operator notifications are sent to the same place when any request is sent.

That is, according to the information received. This part of the screen is used to convey certain information to the owner of the mobile phone.

Solving possible problems

It is important to note that the functionality of some programs that a person can use on a smartphone from this manufacturer directly depends on the ability to access the buffer zone. Some people, constantly experimenting with the settings of their own gadget, may prohibit such use. And then they begin to wonder why the software they need does not start or does not function correctly, in a limited mode.

The situation can be corrected as follows:

  • Go to the icon marked as “Phone Manager”. Or, if the gadget menu is completely English, go to “PhoneManager”;
  • Click on the icon and get into a new menu. Find “Tools” (Setting). Naturally, go over again;
  • A new window where you can use the icon labeled “Buffer Zone Management”. In English, the name will be as follows. Dropzone Management.

The last transition will lead to the appearance on the screen of a list of all applications that are currently installed on the phone, with access to SIMilar functionality.

It remains to carefully review the list and move the slider to the active position, if the required program does not want to function normally without a buffer zone.

By the way, in the same place, you can, on the contrary, deactivate this feature if it is not important for a particular program, interferes with the user or does not display the required information correctly.

There is another method to get to the buffer zone settings. If you do not want to act in the above described way, then you can try an alternative. In this case, you should know one interesting nuance. The fact is that mobile phones have a duplicate function. It is called “Overlay on top of other windows.” If it is not activated in this or that application, then the buffer section will not be displayed either. You can get to this parameter in this way:

  • In the problem program, find the item responsible for the settings and use it. To find the software you need, you can go to “applications and notifications”, in which. To “applications”. And find what you need in the list;
  • In the program settings, detect “Overlay on top of other windows”. Click on it;
  • Another window will open, where, depending on the situation, you can move the slider to an active or inactive state.

If this function for a specific program is turned off, then the buffer zone will not function either.

How it looks in reality?

So what does this mean with SIMple examples? As mentioned above, this zone is most often used in a variety of gaming software. It looks like this:

  • A person installs some kind of game on the phone;
  • Launches and starts to pass;
  • Some messages can already be integrated into the program, or it creates them as the game character develops, or when certain goals are achieved;
  • In the first case, it may be an advertisement for some other product from a game developer. Or a call to purchase a more recent, full version of the currently used application;
  • Secondly, at the bottom of the screen, information is displayed that the user has moved to the next level, earned a hundred coins or received some unique in-game item.

Such information is often the most informative. Therefore. It is useful for humans.

The second use case for this functionality in Android OS:

  • The owner of the mobile phone decided to check the status of his account in terms of the availability of funds on it;
  • To do this, most people type a special command on the phone to get the required answer;
  • The operator receives the request, processes it and sends a response;
  • And he appears exactly in this place. That is, the user does not need to close other applications, go to the folder with received SMS-kami in order to read the received.

But what to do if the information that should be obtained in this way is displayed incorrectly?

The buffer zone in a Huawei phone: what it means

Many owners of smartphones produced under the Huawei brand are faced with such a concept as a “buffer zone in the phone”.

Naturally, they have a number of questions to which users are looking for answers:

  • What is it all about?
  • What is it for?
  • How to use it?

In our article, we will try to provide complete information regarding this very interesting function. She is one of the differences between a smartphone from this manufacturer.

  • Olga. Personally, I knew for a long time that there is a so-called buffer zone in my telephone, but I did not see any advantages from its presence. As they say. Another useless functionality that could be replaced with something else. But then one day a friend advised me to install a program on my smartphone. It is called MNPHelper. This software allows you to display additional information about an incoming call just at the bottom of the screen. Very convenient, considering that my professional activity is directly related to numerous telephone conversations.
  • Peter. I cannot answer for sure whether such an opportunity is needed at all. For example, I just recently switched from a push-button mobile to a smartphone and somehow got used to reading all messages through a folder. And in my new one I do the same. Even if they are initially displayed at the bottom of the screen.
  • Fedor. For me, my gadget is a working tool. Without it, literally nowhere. I constantly use for communication, a bunch of applications are always open, where I do something. And it is very convenient when, while communicating in the chat, there is no need to always switch to it in order to see if the interlocutor answered me and what exactly. Thanks to the work of the buffer zone, all the answers come to me exactly in it. Convenient and comfortable. I really like this solution from Huawei.
  • Ignat. I understand very little in modern technology. And then the son presented a touchscreen mobile phone for his birthday. Naturally, I asked him to download me various programs. Fulfilled the request. Everything worked great at first. But then some of them stopped making me happy. Again he asked for help from his son. I came. It turned out that I was too clever with the settings. For example, everywhere I turned off the buffer zone, which was SIMply necessary for some of the applications I use. And they worked great after the SIMplest activation. In general, the son advised not to climb into the settings without him at all. There is nothing for me to do there, they say.
  • Anton. I like to play various mobile games. And this function seems to be quite useful. Allows you to find out, for example, whether I have completed the task or not, what achievements have I achieved, and so on. Importantly, all this does not distract from direct immersion in the game. Well, if there is entertainment oversaturated with advertising, then I just go into the settings and turn off the ability to use this area of the screen. It’s SIMple!

As you can see, most of the people assessed this potential positively, some. Neutrally. There is very little negative attitude, so we can say that the buffer zone in Huawei phones is a very good solution.

What is Buffer Zone in Android Phone?

To begin with, the buffer zone is a special place on the screen where installed applications can display their own notifications. For example, it can be advertising or information about passing the next level in the game. On Huawei and Honor smartphones, this term usually refers to the bottom of the display, although on other phones the situation can be significantly different.

If you have recorded video from the device screen at least once, then you have definitely noticed that the program requires you to grant permission to overlay on top of other windows. Why is this necessary? Often in order for the display to have a quick control button (it is used to start, pause or end the shooting). So this can also mean that the application has accessed the buffer zone.

What is a buffer zone in Android?

Setting up a modern phone can initially be difficult to figure out, especially if the device uses a unique firmware that you haven’t encountered before. Developers can add new options and capabilities to the standard operating system to improve phone performance. But novice users often ask questions, one of which sounds like this: what is a buffer zone in Android? As a rule, owners of Honor and Huawei devices are mainly interested in this. Let’s figure it out with the decoding of this concept!

How to set up a buffer zone on Android?

Setting the buffer zone means disabling access for certain programs to overlay on top of other windows. If you choose the correct option, a particular application will not be able to display notifications on the device display if it is not currently running. For example, on a Huawei smartphone, to open the desired section, just follow these steps:

  • On the desktop, find the “Phone Manager” application and launch it.
  • Go to the section “Buffer zone”.
  • A list of programs that have access to the buffer zone opens. To disable this feature, SIMply move the slider to the left next to a specific application.
  • Save changes by collapsing settings.

Thanks to such actions, you can get rid of additional blocks on the desktop that are added by installed applications. But you can also prevent overlapping on top of other windows, which will further restrict you from notifications and some icons. However, keep in mind that many utilities SIMply need permission to work. So here’s a step-by-step guide:

  • Opening the smartphone settings.
  • We go to the “Applications” or “Installed programs” tab.
  • We find a utility that needs to be prohibited from overlaying over other windows.
  • On the page with the application, click on the item “Permissions”.
  • Uncheck the option “Pop-up windows” or “Display on top of other windows”. We remind you that the procedure depends on the smartphone model and the installed firmware.

Now the selected program will not be able to show pop-up windows on the phone screen. And if you need to return to the previous settings, follow the steps from the instructions in a slightly different order, putting a tick in the same place.

So, we took a closer look at what a buffer zone is in Android and what it is used for. If you want, you can customize it, granting or denying access to certain programs to the screen. Still have questions? Then we ask you to write them in the comments.!

Configuring and managing the buffer zone

Some mobile software developers abuse their audience, which is why they overdo it with the amount of advertising. Then it is useful to know how to enable the buffer zone for a specific program in the device, or, on the contrary, disable.

What is a buffer zone in a Huawei (Honor) smartphone: management and configuration

What is Buffer Zone in Huawei Phone? Many owners of Android smartphones are interested in this issue. Sometimes, after launching certain programs, a warning window pops up, where the application asks for access to the “Buffer zone”. If the user refuses, then the software may not start or will function with errors. Consider what this function is and why it is needed?

Phone manager

First of all, you need to go to the “Application Manager”. This is the fastest way to configure the function in question:

  • Find the section in the appendix. Buffer zone. There is also data on the state of memory, by pressing the “Optimization” button, it will be cleared.
  • In the next window, you will see a list of installed software on the phone, which needs access to the notification system.
  • Find the program you want to disable.
  • On the contrary, move the slider.

After the actions taken, the disabled application will not be able to use the buffer zone and display information.

The problem with the buffer zone is inconvenience. If we take into account that the presented line is and appears at the bottom of the screen, then sometimes such notifications can interfere with the use of a certain program. For example, when viewing Google maps, the alert may overlap additional navigation buttons.

Settings menu

The second way to customize the buffer area is to use options. Procedure:

  • Go to settings and select the “Apps and notifications” tab.
  • Select the partition with installed programs.
  • Find the one you need in the list and select “Options”.

What is the buffer zone in Huawei and Honor smartphones: management and configuration

What is the buffer zone in Huawei and Honor smartphones? A SIMilar question arises for every user who is faced with the requirement of applications to allow the use of the aforementioned zone. In such situations, the first step is to understand what permission the program needs. The security of sensitive data may be compromised, so access should not be approved?

Fortunately, everything is not so difficult and dangerous. In reality, the access granted to the application will allow the subscriber to use all the functions of the program. The security of the smartphone will not be affected. But the convenience of using the phone may decrease, so owners of Android devices need to know how to manage the buffer zone and control access of third-party services to it.

Phone manager

It is important to emphasize that there are 2 main ways to manage the buffer zone. The first is to use the phone manager. To set up the service you will need:

  • Open desktop and find the mentioned application.
  • Go to the section “buffer zone”.
  • After that, the user will see a list of programs and applications installed in the system.
  • There is a slider next to each application that allows you to turn access to the buffer zone on and off.

For the convenience of smartphone owners, at the top is the exact number of programs that have received permission to use the option. As a result, a person will know whether he should look for programs that need to be disconnected (connected), or whether the service has been configured.

What is the buffer zone in Honor and Huawei phone?

The buffer zone in Huawei and Honor phones is a special intermediate area of the smartphone, located “on top of the applications being used.” In SIMple terms, the mentioned area refers to the layer of the screen that is always in the foreground. As a result of its use by certain programs, some of their functionality will remain visible even when other services are enabled. Such a solution will help Honor owners retain access to the necessary functions, regardless of how the gadget is used at the moment. But it should be borne in mind that there are not only advantages, but also disadvantages in using the buffer zone: some of the open programs and information located on the screen will be closed by the icon in the foreground.

Configuring and managing the buffer zone

Setting up the buffer area is extremely SIMple and contains only 2 main functions:

  • Allow services to access the screen;
  • Restrict programs access to the zone.

The absence of other functions is explained very SIMply: the mentioned area is transparent, that is, invisible to users, is used only by programs and RAM from Honor and Huawei. That is, it is impossible to perform other actions, regardless of the wishes of the subscriber. In addition, the area is exclusively auxiliary in nature and does not have an independent purpose, which would expand the existing functionality.

Settings menu

You can also control the zone through the application settings menu. To do this, just open the list of programs installed on Android and select the one you need from the loaded list. After that, it remains to find in the list of available actions the item “overlay over windows” and decide whether to allow such an option. The exchange of the used variant for another occurs by the standard method, by clicking on the function and changing the solution to “yes” or “no”. Nothing extra is required to manage the service.

What is Buffer Zone in Honor Phone

Sometimes, when launching programs installed on a smartphone, you may see a message that for the application to work correctly, you must allow the use of the “Buffer zone”, and otherwise the program either does not start at all or works with some restrictions. What is Honor’s buffer zone and for what purposes is it used by applications?

If you do not go into the intricacies of the Android operating system, then the buffer zone is a special invisible layer located on top of other applications, on which additional elements from various programs (menus, information windows, ads, interface extensions) can be displayed and in some cases interfere with normal operation other applications (for example, overlapping some navigation buttons or text in applications located below).

An example of using the buffer zone is the control panel from the Record Videos application, which is designed to take screenshots and capture video from the screen of a mobile device.

This panel is the basis for controlling the program, but if you wish, you can work without it (this does not happen with all applications and for some programs, working with the buffer zone is really critical).

To disable the control panel not through the menu of the program itself, but using the smartphone settings, you must perform a number of specific actions.

Method. Through the “Phone Manager”

Among the installed programs, we are looking for the “Phone Manager” application and by launching it, click on the “Buffer zone” item.

The control menu will open, where for each of the applications installed in the smartphone you can enable or disable the permission to open the buffer zone.

We are looking for the required application among the list of available programs and, depending on the task at hand, we activate or deactivate the switch. In our case, if you block access to the buffer zone, the control panel from the Record Videos program will disappear from the screen of the mobile device.

Method. Through the settings menu

Another option to perform the same action is through the access settings menu of a specific application.

To do this, open the “Applications and notifications” section in the smartphone settings and click on the “Applications” item.

Having found the desired program, go to its settings and click on the item “Overlay on top of other windows”.

All that remains is to deactivate the switch next to the item “Overlay on top of other windows”.

Thus, “Buffer zone” and “Overlay on top of other windows” are interchangeable menu items and when one is disabled, the other is automatically disabled (and vice versa).

What is Buffer Zone in Honor Phone

The buffer zone in Huawei Honor is the lower part of the smartphone screen, on which various banner ads and notifications appear when launching some applications. They are often inconvenient, but you can turn them off if necessary.

  • Enter the application “Phone Manager”;
  • Click on the “Buffer zone” item;
  • If it is absent, click on the settings icon in the upper right corner of the screen;
  • Select the “Buffer zone management” option;

If the described procedure is performed correctly, the words “Allowed” or “Blocked” will appear under the selected game or program. Depending on the option selected, applications will be granted or denied access to sending notifications and displaying advertising banners.

The buffer zone in Huawei Honor is an ambiguous function, since in the active state it does not remove banners completely, but makes them unclickable. The information that appears as advertising is hidden. It is replaced by a white footnote, which nevertheless complicates the operation of the smartphone.

Some applications that do not have permission for the buffer zone may not start even if they are compatible with the model of the smartphone used. This is due to the fact that not only ads are displayed on it, but also important notifications, on which the performance of programs depends.

The “Buffer Zone” item can be found in the “Phone Manager” application of Huawei or Honor smartphones. What it is? This is a special functionality that allows or prevents applications from showing messages in the buffer zone (located at the bottom of the display). These are non-clickable messages that are of an informational nature, for example, there are applications that allow you to see the mobile operator of an incoming subscriber. This information is displayed in the buffer zone. It could even be in-app ads, but it won’t be clickable. It’s good that the user chooses which applications can use the buffer zone.

Find the Phone Companion app on the desktop and open it.

Go to the section “Buffer zone”.

You see a list of applications that can manage the buffer zone. As you can see, they have permission to do this.

If you want to prevent any applications from opening the buffer zone, just use the switch opposite the required application. Or disable everything at once.

In this case, 0 applications will be able to open the buffer zone, that is, display messages in the buffer zone.

  • Memory cleaner. Allows you to delete unnecessary files (system and application cache), as well as files of a certain type (images, video, audio, etc.).
  • Traffic statistics. Shows a report on the use of mobile Internet by various applications and games. It also allows you to set a traffic limit and restrictions on Internet access for various applications.
  • Blocked. Allows you to create black and white lists of phone numbers to block calls, and also displays statistics for all blocked numbers.
  • Battery. Opens detailed statistics on battery usage, you can also enable various power saving modes.
  • Buffer zone. Here you can select applications that will be allowed to display toast notifications. For example, when you receive a new message via Messenger, it appears as a pop-up circle. If you exclude Messenger from the buffer zone, such circles will not appear.
  • Virus Scan. Built-in antivirus from Avast that periodically scans applications and files for viruses
