Apple has revealed whether or not the iPhone SE and iPhone 6 will update to iOS 13

As time passes, new models of mobile devices enter the market. Not long ago, it was reported online that the iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone SE and a number of iPad tablets released before 2016 would not be updated to the iOS 13 platform, which will be unveiled as early as early June at WWDC 2019.

Today, May 29, 2019, Apple finally revealed whether these smartphones will update to the new operating system, or, as previously reported, still not. Of course, “Apple” corporation did not say anything directly, but it clearly made it clear that the iPhone SE, iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus will receive a new operating system in the form of iOS 13, and this year. This conclusion was reached very simply. thanks to the iPod Touch 7th generation player announced less than a day ago.

As it became known, it will be supported for at least two years, and because it is built on the Apple A10 Fusion processor, which was used in the iPhone 7, released in 2016. This means that smartphones such as the iPhone SE, iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus will also be updated to the new OS. This is primarily due to the fact that the 7th generation iPod Touch has a 4-inch screen. source who originally reported on Apple’s plans not to release a new OS for older phones, spoke of the company’s intention not to release new software for such a small screen diagonal.

The fact that the new portable touchscreen player will be updated to iOS 13 and iOS 14 in 2020 means that Apple will not abandon the iPhone SE update, but for the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus the new operating system, the final build of which will be available in September, may be the last, because these phones will not be updated to a newer OS next year. So, all users of products of “Apple” corporation, which was released many months ago, now you can not even worry about whether their gadget will update or not, because it absolutely will happen.

Earlier it was reported that the smartphones of Apple, Samsung, Xiaomi and other companies will soon rise in price by 25%.

Which iPhones will be updated to iOS 15 in 2021?

This was to be expected, t.к. the Cupertinians are promising support for new devices for 4-5 years. And the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus were released in September 2015., iPhone SE March 2016.

What this means? These devices will not receive iOS 15 (which will be released in 2021) and all subsequent current system updates. Of course, the latest supported iOS 14 firmware will continue to be updated (constant updates for another 1-2 years, then less frequently and up to 5 years).

List of supported devices for iOS 15:

  • iPhone 12, mini, Pro, Pro Max.

Will apps work on outdated iOS? Most apps from the App Store will work. The only nuance, if the developers tune the application for the latest version of iOS, older smartphones may drop out of the program, freezes, the phone will slow down or reboot itself. But it happens quite rarely.

% of apps do not support iPhone 4s on iOS 6

Apps on iOS 6 are complicated. Most of the standard apps work fine. Weather and Stocks run but do not show information because Yahoo APIs are outdated.

Also keep in mind that iOS 6 does not have Apple apps and services that came out after 2012: Apple Music, FaceTime, Wallet, Health, Home, Apple TV, Apple Arcade and iCloud Drive.

Safari, due to the lack of support for new web standards and weak iron, takes a long time to open sites and does not always display them correctly. A simple example: the home page of iPhones. It takes 3 seconds to open YouTube on iPhone 12 and 17 seconds on iPhone 4s with iOS 6.

iphone

iPhone 4s gives you much less screen real estate than iPhone 12. You’ll have to get used to it.

There is no problem with simple tasks such as making calls, checking email, calendar and notes. Apps open and run quickly, the difference with iPhone 12 is minimal.

Most apps from the App Store do not support iOS 6.

Instagram, WhatsApp, YouTube. VK, Sberbank, Alfa Bank, Yandex Go, Uber, Citimobile, 2GIS, Yandex.Maps, Google Maps, and Shazam don’t work on iOS 6.

If you’re lucky, you may be able to download an older version of an app or game. I had this happen with Telegram. Snapseed, Subway Surf, Temple Run 2 and Doodle Jump.

However, you’re unlikely to find an up-to-date version of any app that will be compatible with iOS 6.

Unfortunately, because of this, it is not possible to use your smartphone fully.

iOS 11 update.3 on iPhone 6: What you need to know?

Updating iOS 11.3 for iPhone 6 is a big update that can help or hurt the performance of your smartphone.

The company’s latest software update is much bigger than its predecessor (iOS 11.2.6), it provides a combination of new features, improvements, bug fixes, tweaks, and security patches.

If you’re using iOS 11.2.6 on your iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus, you get the smallest iOS 11 change log.3 and download size.

If you haven’t yet updated from iOS 10 or are using an older version of iOS 11, your version of iOS 11.3 will be much more, because it will add changes from the iOS updates you missed.

Updating iOS 11.3 on the iPhone 6 during this review has proved quite good, but we have already encountered some minor problems with Apple’s latest update.

iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus users are complaining about a host of issues, including unusual battery consumption, Bluetooth issues, and a variety of, and therefore annoying, app issues. We haven’t encountered any yet, but we’ve noticed lags in the interface and occasional slack.

Our guide to updating iOS 11.3 for iPhone 6 covers the first problems and provides some possible fixes for anyone in need. It also highlights iOS 11 changes.3 and provides a look at Apple’s plans for iOS 11 and the iPhone 6 in 2018.

iPhones That You Should Upgrade this year!

The iPhone 6 model we used holds a good charge with iOS 11.3 on board. We did not notice any abnormal battery consumption during our review on the new software.

Connectivity features (Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and Mobile Data) remained on point. We easily connected the smartphone to Bluetooth devices (headsets and speakers), connected to different routers via Wi-Fi.

App performance remains unchanged. We had no problems with the usual apps like Slack, Asana, Spotify, Chrome and Gmail.

Random reboots have been an issue with our iPhone 6, but with the new update we haven’t noted them yet.

Unfortunately, interface lag is still an issue with the latest update. Animations are sometimes intermittent, and we’ve also noticed keyboard delays when sending messages. This problem came with iOS 11.2.6 and not solved by iOS 11.3.

We also noticed a slowdown when trying to pull the Control Center from the bottom of the screen, the same thing happens when trying to pull the Notification Center from the top of the screen.
