What Connector Does Xiaomi Redmi 7 Have

SCREEN DIAGONAL AND CASE DIMENSIONS

We have not in vain combined these two criteria into one subgroup, as they are closely interrelated. The larger the screen diagonal, the larger the smartphone size. The Redmi 7A smartphone is a fairly compact device, of which there are not so many on the market right now. Not all users are comfortable with a smartphone with a diagonal of 6 inches or more. Perhaps that is why Xiaomi did not “reinvent the wheel” and left the diagonal the same as it was in the previous device of the line with the “A” prefix. Redmi 6A. This smartphone has been (and is) very popular and breaks all sales records. So why change something? So, the diagonal of the Redmi 7A’s IPS screen is 5.45 inches, with a resolution of 1440 x 720 (HD), an aspect ratio of 18: 9 and a pixel density of 295 ppi. The older model already belongs to the category of “shovelphones”, having a diagonal of 6.26 inches. The resolution of an IPS matrix with an aspect ratio of 19: 9 is 1520 x 720. Due to the fact that the screen size is larger and the resolution is still HD, the pixel density has decreased. 269 ppi.

The installed displays have good brightness and color rendering. Viewing angles, as is typical for modern screens, are high. In a word, there are no complaints about quality.

Now let’s talk about the dimensions of smartphones, they are as follows:

  • Redmi 7A. 146.3 x 70.4 x 9.55mm;
  • Redmi 7. 158.7 x 75.6 x 8.5mm.

Visually, it looks like this:

What Connector Does Xiaomi Redmi 7 Have

As you can see, the dimensions of the Redmi 7 are significantly larger, both in height and in width. But the Redmi 7A turned out to be “thicker” (by 1 mm). The manufacturer most likely failed to fit a capacious battery (4000 mAh) in a compact body, without thickening the device.

Of the differences, it is worth noting the bezels of the screens. In the Redmi 7A, everything is “the old fashioned way”, as in the 5 and 6 lines. two wide frames on top and below the display. No hints of framelessness. But in Redmi 7, these frames are much narrower (just like the side ones) and the front camera module is hidden in a teardrop notch. There are, as fans of various cutouts, “monobrows” and other things, and those who are annoyed. Which solution is more successful is up to you.

Considering that the frame under the screen in the Redmi 7A is quite wide, the manufacturer immediately took advantage of this and placed the company’s logo there. That’s right, why should a place be lost.

Since we have talked about the differences between the front panels, we will consider the rear and side panels, so as not to return to this issue, in the future.

The only differences are that in the older model the main camera is double, there is a fingerprint scanner, and the company’s logos are placed in different places.

The side faces are absolutely identical. On the right: a volume rocker and a power button, on the left. a tray (triple) for two SIM cards and a memory card.

On the top are: an additional microphone (for noise canceling) and a 3.5 mm jack for connecting headphones. Right there, there is an infrared peephole, but only in the Redmi 7 model.

The bottom side has incorporated: a Micro USB port (for charging a smartphone), a main microphone and a multimedia speaker.

PERFORMANCE (CPU, GPU) MEMORY (RAM, ROM)

As a more expensive device, Redmi 7 received a more powerful processor and graphics accelerator. The heart of the smartphone is the eight-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 632 with Adreno 506 graphics. The younger version is content with Snapdragon 439 and Adreno 505. For those who are not told about these names and numbers, let us explain. These are quite “fresh” and efficient processors from Qualcomm. As we already explained in the review on Redmi 7A, the performance of the Snapdragon 439 CPU, in conjunction with the Adreno 505, is quite enough to comfortably play any modern 3D games at medium graphics settings. As for the Snapdragon 632, most of the games will “produce” high FPS at maximum settings. Proceeding from the fact that these smartphones are “all right” with games, it is probably not worth explaining that in other scenarios of use, these devices have no problems with lack of computing power.

For fans of “synthetics”, here are the test results in the AnTuTu program:

  • Redmi 7A. 75279;
  • Redmi 7. 102638.

As for the differences (type) in the RAM and read-only memory used in smartphones, there are none, only modifications differ in their volume. Redmi 7A is available in three variants: 2/16, 2/32, 3/32 GB. The older model can already offer a choice of four varieties: 2/16, 3/32, 3/64 and 4/64 GB. In general, everyone will be able to choose the option that suits them best, based on their needs and budget. The option of purchasing a version with 2 GB of RAM can be considered only if you use a smartphone, rather like a regular phone (mostly calls). If you want to make full use of the available functions: communication on various social networks, correspondence in instant messengers, viewing and sending mail and much more, then it is better to pay attention to modifications with 3, or better 4 GB of memory. After all, in order for the programs to function properly (messages arrived in a timely manner, and not only when you launch the application), they must be constantly running, which means they must be in RAM. If there are a lot of programs in use, then the RAM will not be enough and the smartphone will, to put it mildly, “slow down”.

But choosing the amount of permanent memory in the smartphone, you can save. You can increase the amount of memory at any time, if necessary, by purchasing a memory card. Fortunately, both smartphones allow you to install MicroSD without compromising the second SIM card.

Redmi 7A vs Redmi 7. Comparison of new products. Does it make sense to overpay for the older version?

Today we are going to compare two smartphones from Redmi. One of the seventh generation budget line is the Redmi 7A. The second one refers, rather, to the middle or mid-budget segment. Redmi 7. Let’s try to figure out if they differ so much from each other. Is it worth paying attention to the older model, given that it costs more than the “younger brother”.

The review on Redmi 7A, as well as its comparison with Redmi 6A, we have already published earlier, who are interested in following the link:

Review of Redmi 7A. Comparison with its predecessor. Redmi 6A. What to choose in 2019?

In view of the fact that there are already full-fledged reviews for both devices, we will not dwell on all the elements and characteristics of the devices, but will note only those that differ. At the end of the review, a summary table will be published, with the characteristics of both smartphones.

Let’s move on to the first, and perhaps the most significant difference.

CAMERAS

AUTONOMY

The junior model will be more “long-playing”; tests are not even needed to understand this. The battery capacities of smartphones are equal, but the screen size is smaller for the Redmi 7A. In addition, a processor is used that is made using a smaller process technology.

Communication and sound

The Xiaomi Redmi 7 has a good quality multimedia speaker. This speaker is loud enough, and it also doesn’t pop at maximum volume. The sound of music in the headphones is quite pleasant. The device has got a decent earpiece, which very clearly conveys the voice of the interlocutor. Thanks to the Qualcomm X15 LTE modem, you can take advantage of data transfer rates up to 800 Mbps. Built-in FM radio as well as Bluetooth 4.2.

Appearance and ergonomics

The body of Xiaomi Redmi 7 is made of tempered glass, it received rounded sides of the back cover, which improves ergonomics. There is a moderately large frameless screen in front, a scanty indent can be seen only from below, although it merges with the side frames. In the upper area of the display there is a compact teardrop-shaped notch for the front camera, above it is the earpiece. All navigation buttons are virtual. The display is covered with a high-quality 2.5D protective glass.

On the back there is a vertical unit with a dual chamber, covered with black glass material. This element is present in the upper left corner. An LED flash can be seen directly below it. Closer to the center is a round fingerprint scanner, which instantly recognizes touches, and it does so almost without errors. The bottom edge has got a connector for connecting to a computer or power adapter, a microphone, a multimedia speaker grill and a headphone hole. The upper end is equipped with an additional microphone.

It is quite convenient to use the gadget. over, the case itself is quite slippery, so it is best to use a cover. All elements are at hand. You can’t find fault with the quality of materials and assembly. Available colors: black, blue and red. Dimensions: height. 158.7 mm, width. 75.6 mm, thickness. 8.5 mm, weight. 180 g.

Information about the dimensions of the photocell used in the device. Typically, cameras with a larger sensor and lower pixel density offer higher image quality despite lower resolution.

Pixels are usually measured in microns. Larger pixels are capable of capturing more light and therefore provide better low-light performance and wider dynamic range than smaller pixels. On the other hand, smaller pixels allow for higher resolution while maintaining the same sensor size.

The crop factor is the ratio between the size of a full-frame sensor (36 x 24 mm, equivalent to a frame of standard 35 mm film) and the size of the device’s photo sensor. The number shown is the ratio of the diagonals of a full-frame sensor (43.3 mm) to a device-specific photo sensor.

Aperture (also known as aperture, aperture, or f-number) is a measure of the size of the lens aperture, which determines the amount of light entering the sensor. The lower the f-number, the larger the aperture and the more light reaches the sensor. Usually, the f-number is indicated, which corresponds to the maximum possible aperture of the aperture.

The focal length indicates the distance in millimeters from the sensor to the optical center of the lens. Equivalent focal length (35mm) is the focal length of a mobile device camera, equated to the focal length of a 35mm full-frame sensor, which will achieve the same angle of view. It is calculated by multiplying the real focal length of the mobile device camera by the crop factor of its sensor. Crop factor can be defined as the ratio between the diagonals of a 35mm full-size sensor and a mobile device sensor.

Resolution is one of the main characteristics of cameras. It represents the number of horizontal and vertical pixels in the image. For convenience, smartphone manufacturers often quote resolutions in megapixels, indicating the approximate number of pixels in millions.

Redmi Note 7 presented. so this is what smartphone received a 48 MP camera!

Yes! The veil of secrecy has been torn away! The secret that intrigued us since last year has been revealed! And how disclosed! Solemn and cool!

A new smartphone Redmi Note 7 was presented in China, which amazed users with its reasonable price and cool technical parameters.

The main one was, of course, the presence of a super-cool 48 MP camera in the smartphone.

But more about everything.

To begin with, the leadership of the ecosystem made a decision to spin off Redmi into a separate company (like, for example, Pocophone).

Therefore, Redmi Note 7 became, in fact, the first model of the newly formed company.

And, of course, the designers decided to surprise the world with their new smartphone, giving it the most powerful dual 48 (Samsung GM1 sensor) 5 MP camera.

What can this “baby”?

According to the assurance of the designers, a lot!

For example, it has a special night mode, similar to the one in the Mi Mix 3.

And best of all, thanks to its high resolution, the camera can take close-up photos with almost no loss in quality.

Check out the photos of the main camera of Redmi Note 7 with and without zoom!

Great surprise from smartphone designers, isn’t it?

The second interesting thing about the gadget lies in the design of its body.

Namely, the engineers introduced a special new system of “sealed corners” in the new smartphone, which made the body denser, which means it gave additional protection against dust penetration.

As for the rest of the technical characteristics, they are so cool that you can’t even believe that the user will receive them for an incredibly reasonable price.!

So, Redmi Note 7 got:

  • 6.3-inch screen with a resolution of 2340×1080 pixels.
  • Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protective glass.
  • Main USB Type-C and 3.5mm audio port.
  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 Processor with Adreno 512 Graphics.
  • 3-4-6 / 32-64 GB of RAM / flash memory depending on modification.
  • Support for microSD memory cards up to 256 GB.
  • Wi-Fi: 802.11a / b / g / n / ac and Bluetooth: 5.0
  • 13MP front camera with AI mode support.
  • 4000mAh battery with Quick Charge 4.0 support.
  • Infrared port.

Not bad for a “budget” smartphone!

As you can see, the MIOT ecosystem kicked off the new 2019 year.

Even January is not over yet, and cool new items come out one after another.

Which, however, is not surprising!
