The reasons why USB ports do not work on a laptop can be in the software or in the hardware. Sometimes all ports do not function at once, and sometimes only one or two. BIOS configuration check

- Immediately after starting the download, often press Del, F2 or another function key provided for entering the BIOS on your device.

Repeat the described steps for each of the USB hubs registered in the device manager.
Problems with the driver on the system board
Sometimes problems with a broken USB connector can be caused by an outdated motherboard chipset driver. The problem is solved by downloading it from a reliable source and subsequent installation. For this:
- Find out the model of your motherboard and chipset. If the laptop documentation is not saved, install a diagnostic utility, for example, AIDA64. When you have a chipset from Intel (in most cases this is the case), you can get all the necessary information at http://www.intel.com/support/en/siu.htm by downloading Intel’s proprietary utility for identifying equipment there.
- The necessary driver can also be found on the website of the motherboard manufacturer. However, even here it may not be the freshest. Guaranteed the latest version can only be found on the manufacturer’s website of the chipset itself.

To do this, you can, for example, boot the system from any Live CD. If the ports worked as expected in this disk OS, then the problem is definitely in Windows. you can safely reinstall it. If the devices didn’t work when booting from the Live CD, then the problem should be looked for in the hardware already; it may need to be repaired.
