Sony Vaio How To Enable Wifi

How to turn on Wi-Fi on a laptop

The procedure for turning on Wi-Fi is pretty simple, but there are some nuances that can cause difficulties. In this article, we will help you figure out how to enable Wi-Fi on a laptop using hardware capabilities, taking into account the device manufacturer, as well as through the services of the Windows operating system.

Usually on old (sometimes you can find it on new) laptops to activate the Wi-Fi module, a switch is used, which is located on one of the faces and can be either a slider or a regular button.

To enable Wi-Fi in this case, you need to move the slider to the appropriate position or press the key and make sure that the indicator lights up (if any).

On more modern laptops, such a switch is most often absent, and the wireless connection is turned on by pressing the function keys.

Some laptop models do not have dedicated switches or buttons for activating WiFi, and the wireless module control function is not tied to function keys. In this case, wi-fi is turned on by default when the laptop is started, unless it is deactivated by airplane mode or operating system settings.
