Обзор Samsung Galaxy SmartTag: дизайн, начинка, автономность

Корпус “умной” метки, выполненный в форме ромба со скругленными углами, по своим размерам в плане не слишком отличается, к примеру, от бесконтактного RFID-брелока для домофонов Eltis MiFare – (39,1х39,1 мм против 37х30 мм). Правда, он заметно толще его (10,4 мм против 3 мм), ну и по весу между ними есть заметная разница (13 г против 6 г), хотя корпус SmartTag также изготовлен из поликарбоната.

Новинка для экосистемы Galaxy представлена в рознице не только в черной (что досталась нам на тест), но и серо-бежевой расцветке, хотя анонсировались также другие, более веселые окрасы этого аксессуара, в том числе мятный и розовый. Возможно, они появятся в продаже позже.

“Умную” метку сертифицировали на защиту от пыли и влаги по IP52. Таким образом, некоторое количество пыли может проникать внутрь, но это, как и падающие брызги, не нарушает работу устройства.

Корпус SmartTag состоит из двух частей – из крышки и основания.

В центре основания под надписью Galaxy SmartTag скрывается механическая кнопка, а в верхнем (относительно надписи) углу пластикового ромба расположено круглое отверстие для кольца или иного крепления, например ремешка (как уже отмечалось, в комплект с самим аксессуаром ничего не входит).

На крышке c логотипом Samsung в противоположном углу от отверстия для крепления предусмотрена небольшая щель, ведущая к динамику-“пищалке”. Его декоративную решетку можно кое как разглядеть сбоку через технологический паз, служащий для открывания крышки, под которой находится сменная батарейка.

В руководстве советуют беречь ногти и использовать в качестве “открывашки” монету, впрочем, лучше всего для этой цели подойдет пластиковый медиатор (особенно из ремонтного набора). Кстати, чтобы извлечь саму батарейку понадобится еще какой-нибудь тонкий инструмент типа скрепки.

В качестве источника питания для SmartTag остановились на 3-вольтовой “таблетке”, а точнее, одноразовом литий-диоксид марганцевом элементе CR2032. Подобные батарейки находят довольно широкое применение, в том числе в бытовой технике, поскольку отличаются небольшими размерами (диаметр 20 мм, толщина 3,2 мм) и весом (менее 3 г), стабильным напряжением (3 В), малым током саморазряда, широким диапазоном рабочих температур и т.д. В Samsung утверждают, что одной такой батарейки должно хватать примерно на 300 дней работы устройства.

В пенале для CR2032 хорошо видны контакты для подключения, а из текстового блока на донышке можно узнать модель гаджета, напряжение питания, серийный номер и т.п.

Метка SmartTag работает по протоколу Bluetooth 5.0 LE (Low Energy, с низким энергопотреблением), причем дистанция, на которой может поддерживаться связь, заявлена в диапазоне до 120 м. Это, похоже, максимальный предел для открытого пространства. Реальная же дальнобойность зависит от состояния внешней среды, окружения и т.п. В помещении с железобетонными перекрытиями дела, по понятным причинам, обстоят куда менее радужно. Но главное, конечно, что к заряду, накопленному в батарейке, протокол Bluetooth LE относится очень рачительно.

Обзор Samsung Galaxy SmartTag: как это работает

Перед использованием SmartTag на подключаемом Galaxy-смартфоне необходимо запустить приложение SmartThings, которое, скорее всего, там уже предустановлено. Заметим, что все операции с “умной” меткой, включая обновление ее софта, совершаются с помощью этой программы. Из нее же, например, можно узнать примерный уровень заряда батарейки в SmartTag.

Открыв приложение SmartThings, следует нажать механическую кнопку на корпусе “умной” метки, на что последняя должна отреагировать звуковым сигналом, при этом на экране смартфона появляется всплывающее окно с предложением добавить имеющийся SmartTag, чем и необходимо воспользоваться. Ну а напоследок останется только прикрепить этот Bluetooth-маячок к предмету, местоположение которого хотелось бы отслеживать.

Кстати, перед завершением процедуры подключения “умной” метки для нее не возбраняется подобрать подходящее имя. А вот если всплывающее окно на дисплее смартфона так и не появилось, можно попробовать подключить SmartTag вручную, последовательно тапнув в мобильном приложении по “”, “Устройство”, “Тег/трекер”. Есть еще один вариант подключения — через сканирование QR-кода, который нанесен на обратную сторону бумажной упаковки сопрягаемой метки (не путать с QR-кодом в кратком руководстве). Говорят, что к одному смартфону подключается до 200 меток, причем 10 из них могут одновременно отображаться на карте.

Для возврата SmartTag к заводским настройкам прежде всего следует извлечь батарейку. Затем, зажав механическую кнопку, надо вставить батарейку обратно, продолжая при этом удерживать кнопку. Подождав около 5 секунд до звукового сигнала, кнопку можно отпустить. Но даже после этого воспользоваться данной меткой в другом аккаунте Samsung не получится вплоть до того момента, пока она не будет отвязана от старой учетной записи. Так что присваивать чужую потерянную метку не имеет никакого смысла.

По тем или иным причинам люди чаще всего утрачивают электронные девайсы, однако не менее редко в роли потеряшек выступают и обычные личные вещи. Это подтверждается результатами исследования, показавшего, например, что у британцев на первом месте среди пропаж оказались смартфоны (40%), а вторую ступеньку делят между собой пульт от телевизора (30%) и ключи от машины или дома (30%).

А вот среди популярных мест обнаружения пропавших предметов отметились холодильник, мусорное ведро и даже лежанка домашнего питомца.

С помощью SmartTag компания Samsung расширила возможности своего сервиса SmartThings Find, которым предлагается воспользоваться на устройствах Galaxy под управлением Android 8 или более поздней версии. Данный сервис, стартовавший в октябре прошлого года, помогает быстро и легко отслеживать местоположение и находить совместимые устройства Galaxy, в том числе смартфоны, планшеты, носимые девайсы и наушники, даже когда они отключены от сети. В процессе обнаружения всех этих гаджетов и девайсов используется протокол Bluetooth LE.

Вообще говоря, найти “без вести пропавшего” удается благодаря указанным на карте его последним координатам, локаторному поиску по Bluetooth (трекингу) и возможности активировать на разыскиваемом устройстве звуковой сигнал (“позвонить”). Если открыть SmartThings Find и выбрать девайс, который надо найти, его последнее зарегистрированное местоположение будет указано на карте. Туда можно проложить маршрут, если координаты искателя и искомого заметно не совпадают. Напомним, что ключевая “фишка” SmartThings Find заключается в автономном розыске устройства при отсутствии у него доступа в интернет (а соответственно и возможности передать свои координаты), когда находящийся поблизости “чужой” смартфон или планшет Galaxy, может помочь в поисках, уведомив сервис о примерном местонахождении. Заметим, что по данным Samsung, во всем мире насчитывается 630 миллионов пользователей SmartThings.

Достаточно приблизившись к точке с искомыми координатами, можно воспользоваться функцией “Поиск поблизости” (локаторный Bluetooth-поиск) или включить на потеряшке звуковой сигнал. Такие же действия стоит рекомендуются, если утерянное устройство находится в том же помещении, что и искатель. Еще раз подчеркнем, что распространение работы сервиса на Smart-метки позволило автономно искать не только Galaxy-девайсы, но и “неумные” предметы, если к ним прикрепляется SmartTag.

Сам алгоритм автономного розыска выглядит примерно следующим образом. Если теряется какой-либо предмет, то прикрепленный к нему SmartTag начинает автоматически передавать сигнал по протоколу Bluetooth LE с координатами своего предполагаемого местонахождения. При этом после отключения “умной” метки от зарегистрированного мобильного устройства (искателя) зашифрованный частный идентификатор координат местоположения будет меняться каждую четверть часа, заботясь о том, чтобы информация о нахождении потеряшки была недоступна другим лицам. Если находящееся поблизости любое Galaxy-устройство с включенным SmartThings Find, выступающее в качестве помощника, обнаружит передаваемый сигнал, то оно уточнит координаты SmartTag в облаке SmartThings Cloud относительно своего местоположения. Уже оттуда сигнал поступит на Galaxy-девайс, с которым у “умной” метки потеряна связь, то есть, искателю потерявшегося предмета. Еще раз отметим, что все устройства, участвующие в автономном поиске, общаются друг с другом посредством Bluetooth LE. Оффлайн-данные о местоположении потерянной метки, которые другие Galaxy-девайсы отправили на сервис также можно закодировать (это шифрование включается в настройках SmartThings Find).

Такие инструменты сервиса, как “Поиск поблизости” и “Включить сигнал”, помогают ускорить и упростить решение задачи поиска на завершающем этапе.

Кстати, с помощью SmartTag легко найти сопряженный с ним Galaxy-смартфон, например, перед выходом из дома. Для этого следует предварительно включить опцию поиска устройства через метку в настройках программы SmartThings. В этом случае после двойного нажатия кнопки на SmartTag активируется громкий звуковой сигнал на смартфоне, причем такой отклик будет даже в том случае, если разыскиваемый девайс переключили в беззвучный режим. Акустические возможности “умной” метки ограничены двумя уровнями громкости (низкий и высокий), причем по неофициальной информации максимальный уровень достигает 89 дБ, а также десятком различных мелодий-тонов (две Basic, пять Classic и три Simple).

Поиск в автономном режиме

Среди особенностей SmartTag есть и самая интересная: даже если вы потеряли метку, то её можно найти с помощью другого смартфона Galaxy. Да-да, даже если кто-то вам незнакомый пройдёт рядом, и у этого человека в кармане будет Samsung Galaxy, то вы получите данные потерянной метки — никакой личной информации, естественно, не передаётся, всё анонимно.

Мы с коллегами решили поставить эксперимент. Я оставил метку в офисе, рядом положили смартфон Samsung Galaxy S21 с другой учётной записью, были установлены SmartThings и SmartThings Find. Свой аппарат я забрал и поехал домой. То есть я как бы забыл метку.

Дома произошло чудо: зашёл в SmartThings Find и там увидел местоположение метки — с припиской, мол, для поиска использовался другой смартфон Galaxy. Классно? Не то слово. Да, здесь не написано конкретно — ищи метку под столом в офисе таком-то. Но вы же всегда примерно можете понять, где были и оставили нужную вещь.

Особенности и вердикт

К одному смартфону Samsung Galaxy можно привязать 200 меток — наверное, мало у кого возникнет необходимость в таком количестве, но после эксплуатации мне захотелось купить ещё несколько штук. Повешу на ключи от машины, на ключи от дома родителей, спрячу в часто используемый чемодан. Решение изящное, и я не нашёл, к чему придраться.

Подключение к смартфону элементарное, связь в обе стороны надёжная (хотя заявленных 120 метров достичь в реальности практически невозможно). Мне удалось легко и быстро найти в офисе ключи и, используя метку, обнаружить «потерянный» смартфон. Особо добавить и нечего — как повесил Samsung Galaxy SmartTag на ключи, так и использую. Приятная вещица просто работает и дарит мне позитивные вибрации.
