Besides, it has Dolby Atmos for superior audio quality and supports regional languages such as Hindi, Telugu, and Marathi.

In Jan 2021, Samsung unveiled the new affordable smartphone – Galaxy M02s. The sub-12k-priced mobile is ideal for daily usage, has a large battery, and offers a good multi-media experience.

Let’s have a look at what new comes in Galaxy M02s

Powering the phone is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 chipset. It is an Octa-core processor with a clock speed of 1.8 GHz and an Adeno 506 GPU. It is not the fastest processor for high-end gaming, but you can do casual gaming.

The phone is available in two variants, with expandable storage:

• 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage at Rs 8,999. – (not available now)
• 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage at Rs 11,899.

The Galaxy M12 offers a 6.5-inch PLS IPS waterdrop notch display with an HD(1600720)pixels resolution, including a 20:9 aspect ratio, a 270ppi pixel density, and a 90Hz refresh rate.

Camera details – It has a Quad rear camera setup, including a 48MP(f/2.0) primary camera, an 8MP(f/2.2) ultrawide lens, a 2MP(f/2.4) macro lens, and a 2MP(f/2.4) depth sensor. Additionally, it comes with an 8MP(f/2.2) selfie camera.

Connectivity options – Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 5.0, hotspot, GPS, USB Type-C 2.0, and a dual SIM 4G support.

The phone weighs 221 grams(heavyweight), has a thickness of 9.7mm, and even has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.

Lastly, it packs a massive 6000 mAH battery with 15Watts fast charging support.

Overall, considering the large battery, it is a bit bulky, and the HD display is just about okay. However, the price is competitive, and some buyers may like the extra-long battery back of the M12.

Samsung Galaxy M21 (2021) – Price Rs. 12,999 (4/64 GB)(Recommended)

The Samsung Galaxy M21 comes with 4 GB Ram and 64 GB of internal storage for Rs. 12,999.

It has a 6.4-inch Super AMOLED FHD (24001080 pixels) display with a u-notch design. It has a 60 Hz refresh rate and comes with the Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection.

“It is one of the cheapest Samsung phones to offer an FHD Super AMOLED display.”

Powering the mobile is an Octa-Core processor (Exynos 9611) and comes with 4GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage.

The smartphone runs on the latest Android 11 OS and the Samsung One UI 3.1. Additionally, it comes with a massive 6000 mAH battery that can easily last all day. Also, it has 15 Watts fast charging support and comes with a fast charger in the box. The Dual SIM smartphone has 4G VOLTE support but lacks 5G.

The phone’s starting price is Rs 14999 for the 4 GB Ram and 64 GB storage versions. The Samsung Galaxy M32 is the successor to the Galaxy M31, launched in February 2020.

Let’s have a look at the specs of the Galaxy M32:

Starting with its display, it features a 6.4-inch super AMOLED infinity-U display, FHD(24001080)pixels resolution, and a 90Hz refresh rate and 800nits brightness.

The Galaxy M32 is powered by a MediaTek Helio G80 octa-core processor fabricated on a 12nm chipset and clocked at 2.0 GHz and also comes with an ARM Mali-G52 GPU for gaming.

It runs on its Samsung One UI 3.1 based on Android 11.

Overall, the Samsung M32 is a balanced phone for the price, and people looking for a good mid-ranger will not be disappointed by this new Samsung phone.

The Samsung Galaxy M32 5G is available for purchase online in the following variants:

A 6 GB Ram variant was launched, but it is usually unavailable. Also, there are discounts available up to Rs. 4000 on purchase from Amazon.

The Samsung M32 now comes with 5G support, unlike the predecessor with 4G support only. Also, the phone comes with 12 (5G) bands support, probably more than most other smartphones in this price range.

The MediaTek Dimensity 720 Octa-core processor powering the phone with a clock speed of 2 GHz.

Aforementioned, it has got 8GB RAM and 128GB storage support, and you can even expand the storage to 1 TB using the Micro-SD card slot. It comes with Dual SIM support with a Hybrid (SIM or MicroSD) secondary slot.

The phone operates on the Android 11 and Samsung One UI 3.1 and will soon get the Android 12 update.

Further, the Galaxy M32 (5G) comes with a (6.5-inch) TFT panel– infinity V-cut display, HD resolution with 720 x 1600 pixels. The resolution is just HD; Samsung should have used FHD in this price range. However, it has Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection.

The Galaxy M32 (5G) comes with a Quad-Camera setup, including a 48 MP (f/1.8) aperture primary sensor, 8 MP Ultra-Wide Camera, 5 Mp Depth sensor, and a 2 MP Macro Camera. Frankly, two good cameras are enough others are just marketing gimmicks, not much use.

You can click decent selfies with the 13 MP front camera’s F/2.2 aperture.

Lastly, we have a 5000 mAH capacity battery that is sufficient to last all day and comes with 15 Watts fast charging support.

Verdict – Samsung M32 (5G) comes with a decent processor, the latest OS, and 5G support. But the display is only HD which is a bummer.

Samsung Galaxy M52 5G – Price Rs. 24,999 (Special Discount)

In Sept 2021, Samsung launched the Galaxy M52 5G, a premium mid-range offering by the South Korean tech giant.

Samsung A Series

The A Series is the bread and butter product line of Samsung’s mobile device offerings. As a midrange product line, the A Series does not offer the latest and greatest in performance or features. Unlike the Google Pixel 4 Series, there is no radar system for hand gesture detection. Unlike the LG V60, there is no second display. Unlike the Galaxy Z Fold2, there is no fold out screen. What the A Series does give you are features that you actually need: huge batteries, good quality cameras, good amount of RAM (2GB to 6GB), and plenty of storage (16GB up to 128GB).

At the same time, the phones from the A Series will not break the bank. With phone models selling from 100 to 650, the A Series targets the midrange market sweet spot by offering good performance at a good price.

This midrange market positioning of the A Series has been extremely successful. In 2019, the top 3 best selling Samsung phones were all from the A Series: A10, A50, and A20. These three A Series models combined for almost 75 million units sold in 2019. The same three A Series phones were also the top 3 best selling Android phones in 2019.

When it comes to support, Samsung is not known for providing long term support updates to their phones. But recently, Samsung has made an announcement that it will provide 3 generations of Android updates to a few higher end models in the A Series: A51, A51 5G, A71, A71 5G, and A90 5G. Unfortunately, the lower end models in the A Series – A01, A10e, A11, A20, A21, A50 – will not be getting that extended support from Samsung.

What People Say About Samsung A Series

Reviewers generally consider the Samsung A Series a line of competent midrange phones. The phones in this series offer good value for a good price. They are not exceptional, but they are good for their prices. Performance is either adequate or a bit lacking. One common complaint is poor photo quality under low-light conditions.

One of the most popular model in the A Series is the Galaxy A51. The video below is a good review of A51. It covers the specs and features of this model and has a particularly good discussion on the trade-offs that were made by its designers.

As a line of budget phones made for the Indian market, phones in the M Series sell for substantially lower than other Samsung phones. The cheapest model in this line, the Galaxy M01 Core (5.3 inches screen, 1 GB RAM, 16 GB storage, 3,000mAh battery) retails for 5,500 India Rupee, or less than 75. The most expensive model, the Galaxy M51 (6.7 inch display, 8 GB RAM, 128 GB, 7,000mAh battery) sells for 27,000 Indian Rupee, or less than 370.

As you can see here, even though the M Series is being positioned as a budget product line targeting a market segment below that of the midrange A Series, some higher end models in the M Series do overlap with certain models in the A Series.
