Samsung Galaxy Which One To Choose

Galaxy A51 and Galaxy A71: cameras

Samsung Galaxy Which One To Choose

details on the Galaxy A51 camera include a 48MP primary sensor and 12MP 5MP 5MP sensors. The main camera sensor is capable of delivering clear images in all lighting conditions. 5-megapixel macro camera allows close-up shots from 2-4 cm away. There is another sensor with ultra-wide lens and a resolution of 12 megapixels, which provides a large image capture angle, and a 5-megapixel depth sensor, indispensable for portrait photography with Bokeh. As for the main camera of the Galaxy A71, its cluster consists of sensors with a resolution of 64MP 12MP 5MP 5MP. Galaxy A71 with 64MP main camera delivers clearer images.

For selfies and chats, both smartphones got a 32MP front-facing camera f / 2.2 and supports 1080p recording at 30fps.

Galaxy A51 and Galaxy A71: chipset and battery

Most users prefer the long battery life of their phone to plugging in a power bank or getting to a power outlet. Galaxy A51 has a battery 4000 mAh capacity, Supports 15W fast charging. On the other hand, the Galaxy A71 is running on battery at 4500 mAh, which supports 25W fast charging. In fact, through an experiment carried out in the comparison process, the author found that 500mAh difference helps to extend the battery life of the device by several hours. Overall, the Galaxy A51 will have about 1 day of use while the Galaxy A71. A day and a half.

Galaxy A51 and Galaxy A71: design and screen

As you can see, both smartphones are equipped with screens, similar to the display of a flagship smartphone Samsung Galaxy Note 10 that provide a vivid and realistic visual experience, especially when watching or playing games. But if you like big screens, all the same Galaxy A71 is the best choice. In addition, both devices are equipped with advanced fingerprint sensor, which allows you to quickly and accurately unlock your smartphone.

Samsung Galaxy A51 and Galaxy A71: which smartphone to choose?

Samsung Galaxy A51 was launched in December last year at a price about USD 347. Samsung Galaxy A71, in turn, was presented at the beginning of January, and its announced price was about 421 USD. According to the manufacturer, the two smartphones mark a new step in Samsung’s strategy by bringing innovative features to users in the Galaxy A series. Each smartphone has its own strengths. And if you are wondering about the choice, we hope that this comparison will help you cope with the task, backing up your decision with real arguments.

So which smartphone to choose?

After a quick comparison, it’s easy to see that the Galaxy A71 outperforms the Galaxy A51 in many aspects such as display size, camera resolution, performance, battery capacity, and fast charging. Of course, these improvements will have a higher price tag, but they are worth it.

If you use your smartphone constantly throughout the day, then the Galaxy A51 will certainly satisfy your needs. It still has a nice design, four rear cameras, a high-quality Infinity-O Super AMOLED display, a powerful battery, and fast charging.

Which Samsung smartphone is better to choose in 2018?

Despite the rapid development of the Chinese smartphone market, the South Korean company Samsung remains at the head of the world. She managed to break out among the leaders when the collapse of the still tube Nokia was approaching. And until now Samsung does not give the king’s place even to the main competitor Apple. In many respects, the company’s success is due to the high quality of products and their abundance. Samsung smartphones are represented in any market segment and are ready to compete with major competitors. Good support, presence in most countries, user recognition all of this made the company so majestic.

However, choosing a good smartphone from Samsung is much more difficult than choosing from another company. This is not Apple with a couple of smartphones a year, Koreans show new solutions almost every month. The company has absolute flagships with a stylish design, top-end hardware and chic cameras, there are middle peasants pleasant to the eye with not the best filling, but all the necessary functions, there are state employees, the price of which is often unjustified. Today we will try to help you choose a Samsung smartphone for 2018. Let’s not delay, let’s go!

It should be understood that Samsung does not have very inexpensive smartphones. If a Chinese company sells its phone, for example, for 3000 rubles, then Samsung will require all 6000 rubles for similar characteristics. And it’s not a fact that he will be much better than a cheaper Chinese.

If you don’t really need some kind of cores, gigahertz and other incomprehensible things, and you are looking for a durable smartphone for calls and surfing the network, then something can be found in the Samsung model lines. Samsung has few fresh smartphones up to 10,000 rubles, the company rarely releases such cheap models. But there are last year’s solutions, which have fallen in price greatly, having stepped over the desired mark.

Of those that are on the official sale, the cheapest Samsung smartphone. Small 4.5-inch low-resolution AMOLED screen, simple body materials, weak hardware, very little memory (18 GB), poor cameras. The smartphone has a 2050 mAh battery, but due to the screen and weak hardware, everything is tolerable with autonomy. Apart from the price (up to 7,000 rubles), the Samsung Galaxy J1 (2016) has no merits. And even this point is controversial. The excellent Xiaomi Redmi 5 costs a little more than 7000 rubles.

A fairly new smartphone that is the successor to the J1. The characteristics are still boring, although they look a little more interesting. The smartphone has a 5-inch screen, the amount of RAM has grown to 1.5 GB, permanent memory up to 16 GB. We slightly improved the camera, increased the battery capacity, rolled the system fresher. There is even hope that the model will receive an update to the latest version of Android.

One of the options that used to cost more than 10,000 rubles. It has more or less tolerable characteristics that can provide the owner with a minimum set of capabilities. There is a good 5.2-inch Super AMOLED display, 2 GB of RAM, 16 GB permanent. The processor (SND410) is not the most interesting, but it copes with the primary tasks with dignity. Even cameras will do. True, does it make sense to give 10-ku for a government employee of 2 years of age?

A very interesting model that I managed to find on AliExpress (Yandex.Market did not find a smartphone). The specs are comparable to the Galaxy J5 (2016), but it has a 5-inch screen and a rather stylish back cover that makes you think that the smartphone is more expensive. Of the advantages, I will highlight NFC, this is one of the most affordable models with technology support.

The smartphone started on sale with a price of 12,990 rubles, but today it will not be difficult to find it for just over 9,000 rubles. The model turned out to be very interesting for its price segment, so it provided the company with good sales. It has a small 5-inch screen, good build, an acceptable processor for 2018. Very good cameras that shoot better than their closest counterparts.

If Chinese companies already consider this to be the middle segment, then for Samsung these are still inexpensive smartphones. True, here the choice is much wider, and there are enough decent models. But, again, for this money, you can swing at the flagship from the Middle Kingdom, albeit the year before last.

The most interesting Samsung smartphone up to 20,000 rubles. The design is recognizable, Samsung, of course, the body is all-metal. I am glad that the Galaxy A5 (2017) has water and dust resistance, which many Chinese flagships still cannot boast of. The smartphone has a gorgeous 5.2-inch screen, 32 GB of permanent memory, modern interfaces, including NFC and USB Type-C. The cameras of the device are also pleasantly surprising, which in terms of photo quality can be compared with some flagship counterparts.

Really standing devices from South Korea, which differ in display sizes, but are located in the same price range of 15,000-20,000 rubles. The younger J5 received a 5.2-inch display with HD resolution, the older 5.5-inch FullHD. In both cases, we get an AMOLED matrix. The smartphones received proprietary mid-range chipsets and minimal memory configuration, which is a little frustrating. But the presence of NFC is very pleasing. Smartphones boast a dedicated microSD slot, as well as very, very decent cameras.

If games are not the main thing for you, you are not a photographer or a maximalist in terms of equipping smartphones, then Galaxy J5 | J7 (2017) will be satisfied. These are a couple of the best budget Samsung phones in recent years.

Smartphones are presented in 2016, but they look decent in 2018, especially for their price. The Galaxy C5 is a 5.2-inch device with an AMOLED panel, Snapdragon 617 chipset, 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage (there is a 32 GB version), something really worthy of attention among others from Samsung. The Galaxy C7 has a 5.7-inch screen, which will appeal to phablet lovers. Its processor is from Qualcomm, but the more popular Snapdragon 625. Smartphones are not left without decent cameras and NFC.

The devices are quite good considering the price / quality ratio, but not as common as other Samsung smartphones. Galaxy C5 now will cost about 16,000-17,000 rubles, for AlieXpress, in the minimum configuration a little more than 13,000 rubles. The cost of the Galaxy C7 is 17,990 rubles, on AliExpress 15,000 rubles.

These smartphones are almost never found in our market, although their characteristics are quite acceptable. For example, the Galaxy J7 boasts a fairly nimble Helio P25 Lite processor, 4GB of RAM and a dual camera. C8 is about the same. The smartphones are solidly assembled, the cases are made of metal, they got 5.5-inch AMOLED screens. Galaxy A9 will be larger than 6 inches. It doesn’t have the freshest, but still powerful Snapdragon 652 chipset, 13MP camera from Samsung, and NFC support is announced.

The models are interesting, but they will have to be purchased abroad. I am glad that the price does not bite. Galaxy C8 can be taken for 15,000 rubles, two other smartphones 17,000 rubles.

Freshly baked full-screen smartphones of the company, which are positioned as affordable solutions, but are not. Smartphones seem to have good decent cameras, especially the front camera, which is represented by two sensors, they are water resistant, cool AMOLED displays, NFC and other modern chips. However, the hardware of smartphones drives you into depression. The processor is clearly not worthy to be installed in such expensive devices, and memory, as in the Chinese budget. Priced Galaxy A8 | A8 Plus outperforms last year’s flagships.

How do I feel to buy Samsung Galaxy A8 | A8 Plus isn’t worth it yet. The youngest of the couple now costs 35,000 rubles in retail, the older one is 38,000 rubles. Even for the gray version, you will have to pay at least 30,000 rubles, which, as for me, is too expensive.

Flagships of past years can be a very worthy option if you don’t have much money, but you still want something unusual. Even old top-level solutions often have more productive stuffing, more interesting cameras, and you can’t blame them for the lack of fresh OS versions. The Samsung Galaxy S6 turned 3 years old in 2018, which can be considered a respectful age for a smartphone. And still he is of genuine interest.

Galaxy S6, and in particular the Edge version, have a recognizable and very stylish design. Really high quality materials are used. Aluminum and glass. The smartphone supports wireless charging technology. A high-quality AMOLED screen is installed, which will be the envy of many competitors for the same money. Yes, the processor is no longer fresh, but it still copes with the overwhelming number of demanding games with a bang. The camera and the manufacturer’s support are pleasantly pleasing. Most likely Galaxy S6 will be updated to Android 8.0.

Only now it is becoming more difficult to find it in official retail, and at a price it is not much cheaper than the more modern Galaxy S7 (over 20,000 rubles), so we recommend that you take a closer look at the restored options, the cost of which starts from 10,000 rubles. Quite not bad isn’t it?

Galaxy S7 right now looks like the most balanced solution from Samsung for a reasonable price. It is still a stylish smartphone with a great screen and the same cameras that will set even much fresher flagships hot. The well-built aluminum and glass body protects the smartphone from water and dust according to the IP68 standard, and also allows you to charge the battery wirelessly. The Exynos 8890 processor (analogue of Snapdragon 820) still copes with any tasks without any problems, showing about 130,000 parrots in AnTuTu.

The Galaxy S7 will definitely receive an update to Android 8.0, and perhaps the manufacturer will release an unannounced version of Android P on it, the smartphone is now offered at a price of 29,990 rubles. There are also remanufactured options that will cost almost half the price.

In 2018, the Korean company will add new products to all its lines of smartphones, including the middle one. Particular attention will be drawn to the Galaxy A models, with the A3 and A5 joining the ranks. Considering Samsung’s pricing policy, smartphones will cost no less than 20,000 rubles at the start of sales, although they are unlikely to be radically different from last year’s models. In addition, the Galaxy J7 (2018) solution, as well as the Galaxy C models and some other new items will cost more than 20,000 rubles.

Samsung’s flagship segment is, in my opinion, the most interesting. The company’s top solutions cost the same as the alternatives from key competitors, and often even cheaper. At the same time, Samsung budget smartphones tend to be unreasonably expensive.

A chic pair of flagship smartphones, which differ only in the display sizes of 5.8 and 6.2 inches, respectively. Samsung was able to surprise us last spring with one of the first full-screen smartphones. LG showed the G6 a little earlier, but it did not reach the full-fledged flagship of 2017. In addition to the new design, the camera was updated, of course, the hardware, the operating system, new software chips appeared. Smartphones instantly became the most desired gadgets, and in 2018 they did not lose their attractiveness.

At the time of writing the article on choosing a Samsung smartphone for 2018, there are only a few days left before the presentation of the Galaxy S9, so we expect the price of the current flagship to drop. Now the Galaxy S8 will cost 46,990 rubles, and the older model 49,990 rubles. In addition, the advantages of smartphones include the still current Snapdragon 835 processor (in our market, models with an analog from Samsung), water resistance, wireless charging, NFC, headphone jack, recognizable and stylish design.

After the failure with the Note 7, the South Korean company needed to impress the audience with a novelty, winning back the trust of users. It didn’t work out straight to create something mind-blowing, but in the Galaxy Note8, the manufacturer took into account all of its earlier mistakes. The phablet has become more solid and much more sophisticated than its predecessors. A dual camera appeared, which brought Samsung smartphones to a new level of shooting, the screen became even larger and juicier, the hardware was updated.

The smartphone is made, which never surprises, from high-quality materials, boasts a whole bunch of useful modern functions, such as wireless charging and NFC. However, the smartphone is not cheap, and not everyone will like its rather big dimensions. The official retail price of the Samsung Galaxy Note8 is RUB 69,990. On AliExpress in a new state, you can find options for 55,000 rubles.

Already at the end of February, Samsung is launching a couple of new Galaxy S9 and S9 flagships. They do not promise us fundamental changes: they will slightly reduce the frames, improve the cameras and install a new stone. While the official price is unknown, but a number of rumors suggest that the new flagships will cost even cheaper than last year’s at the start of sales. If so, then get your money ready, gentlemen! Plus, it could force the company to seriously reduce the cost of last year’s smartphones. In general, we are waiting for March.

Galaxy Note9 will be presented closer to autumn, and so far almost nothing is known about it. Probably, the company will keep the already familiar form factor, but make the framework minimal. Most likely, in the Galaxy Note9, Samsung is implementing an in-screen fingerprint scanner and other innovative technologies. It’s too long to wait for the next phablet to appear on sale, so there is a reason to take a closer look at last year’s flagships or the fresh Galaxy S9.

That’s basically it. We have told you about the most interesting Samsung smartphones in 2018, you just have to decide on a budget and choose a model. To put it simply, then:

How the Internet works on smartphones with dual SIM cards

If the smartphone has one SIM card, then the Internet works through it. If the smartphone has two SIM cards, then you need to choose through which Internet connection will work. The choice of a SIM card for calls and SMS does not affect the Internet and is configured separately.

Galaxy A40

The smallest representative of the series will appeal to those who are tired of shovels and want to use the phone with one hand. The Galaxy A40 is just right because it has a screen size of only 5.9 inches, and its body is thin and light (7.9 mm, 140 g).

The manufacturer focused on the front camera, it received a module with a resolution of 25 megapixels. This sensor produces high-quality images not only during the day, but also at night, the amount of noise is minimal, so it’s not a shame to post a photo on social networks. In addition, the background in the picture can be blurred to make the frame more expressive. Gamers will appreciate the performance of the smartphone: a capacious 3100 mAh battery allows you to run games all day. The cost of the device is 17,990 rubles.

Galaxy A10

Galaxy A10 is the most affordable smartphone in the series. It is perfect for those who want to have access to all new technologies, but are not eager to run gluttonous games at maximum speed. The gadget is equipped with a 6.2-inch screen with a tiny teardrop notch when watchings, it does not interfere.

The main camera has a resolution of 13 megapixels, and the front camera creates self-images and supports face recognition, a quick and safe way to unlock the device. The 3400 mAh battery is enough to keep you out of the plug all day. Well, the price is more than pleasant: they ask for only 9,990 rubles.

Galaxy A30

The smartphone is rare as it combines flagship features with a budget price tag. Galaxy A30 has been equipped with all the new technologies, but this has practically no effect on the price tag. When compared with the younger version (A20), the gadget has been updated even externally, the fiberglass body looks more solid. The front panel is equipped with a 6.4-inch frameless display with FHD resolution and a sAMOLED matrix, so you can not find fault with the picture quality.

The dual camera uses artificial intelligence for scene recognition. Simply put, the AI automatically adjusts the saturation, white balance, and brightness settings. There is also a defect detection function: it will tell you if the person in the frame blinked at the wrong time or the photo turned out to be blurry. You can buy the device for 15,990 rubles.

Seven different Samsung Galaxy A: which one to choose?

What is required of a modern smartphone? Big screen, good camera and solid data protection. Well, and a powerful battery, so that the device does not run out at least until the end of the working day. All Samsung Galaxy A models fit this description. We find out what is the dignity of each.

Galaxy A70

The Galaxy A70 offers the maximum of possibilities. The 6.7-inch FHD borderless display with thin bezels and a tiny waterdrop notch is perfect for watching new YouTubes. For Tanks and PUBG, all the conditions are also: inside there is a powerful Snapdragon 675 processor and 6 GB of RAM, games do not slow down even at maximum graphics settings. But such power also requires a large amount of energy, which is provided by a battery of increased capacity. In just 45 minutes, its charge is replenished to 60%.

The triple camera delivers crisp and detailed shots thanks to the 32MP main sensor and advanced AI. The manufacturer also thought about safety. It is provided by an in-screen fingerprint scanner and face recognition. The price of the device is 29,990 rubles.

Samsung Galaxy S20 vs Galaxy Note10. Design and hardware features

Galaxy S20 Galaxy Note10
Dimensions 151.7 x 69.1 x 7.9 mm 151 x 71.8 x 7.9 mm
Weight 163 g 168 g

Although both devices are almost the same size, they feel completely different.

Galaxy S20 a little ýbecause of the different aspect ratio of the screen, but the main thing is the shape of the case. Before the release of the new product, the angular design of the Galaxy Note10 seemed quite comfortable. But the Galaxy S20 is much more comfortable in the hand and it feels good during operation.

In addition to the angles, the overall design of the case is also different, respectively, and the sensations from the devices are different. Galaxy Note10 looks more futuristic and interesting due to symmetry. The back cover and screen have the same curvature at the edges. On the Galaxy S20, the display is almost flat, which is also reflected in the look of the smartphone:

In total, we have an interesting picture in terms of design. On the one hand, the Galaxy Note10 looks more interesting and unusual, but from a practical point of view, the Galaxy S20 is more comfortable in everyday use.

The control elements are also different. All buttons on the Galaxy Note10 are located on the left side, and on the Galaxy S20 on the right, which is also more convenient for right-handers.

The rest of the connectors and outputs are identical, except for one small difference. The earpiece has a very narrow opening above the screen of the Galaxy S20, while on the Galaxy Note10 it is not visible at all. Because of this, in the previous flagship, an additional audio output is located on the upper end (near the SIM slot):

For this reason, the sound of the speaker during a telephone conversation is better heard by everyone around it on the Galaxy Note10.

The moisture protection of the devices is identical (IP68), the body materials are the same. It uses Gorilla Glass 6 on the front and back, and an aluminum frame on the sides. Screens have a protective film, as the glass is easy to scratch.

The set of sensors and various modules on two smartphones is also identical and includes:

  • Bluetooth 5.0
  • NFC
  • Dual-frequency GPS, which works with the accuracy of ordinary GPS-modules (that is, with an error of 3-5 meters)
  • Sub-screen proximity and lighting sensors
  • Ultrasonic fingerprint scanner. They work about the same, but it feels like you can use your finger with less force on the Galaxy S20.

The communication module works identically. With the same SIM card installed alternately on both smartphones, they produce identical received signal strength. However, the Galaxy S20 adds support for eSIM (virtual embedded SIM) for the first time:

The sound is slightly different. Despite the similar stereo speakers from AKG, the Samsung Galaxy S20 sounds worse than the previous flagship. Slightly louder, but noticeably less bass.

Well, the main difference between the Galaxy Note10 and any other device is the support for the proprietary S-Pen. If you need a pen, it makes no sense to compare these two devices. And for those who do not know what can be done with it, I suggest reading the following materials:

Galaxy S20 and Galaxy Note10 cameras compare

The cameras in the Galaxy S20 have changed a lot. This was covered in detail in our Galaxy S20 review. The main camera now shows a slight increase in quality when shooting objects close up:

In particular, the background blur quality is noticeably better on the Galaxy S20:

In any case, you need to wait for a few updates so that the photo processing algorithms are brought to mind, since now it is still a fairly fresh device.

For the first time in a long time, the company has abandoned the variable aperture and instead of f / 1.5-2.4 on the Galaxy Note10 uses a fixed f / 1.8. In some scenarios, the novelty wins due to this, in some it loses. Particularly in low light, the Galaxy Note10’s lens captures more light.

The telephoto lens is missing on the Galaxy S20. Instead, it uses a regular wide-angle camera with a resolution of 64 megapixels (the same as the main camera on the Redmi Note 8 Pro) and the zoom is done by cropping the photo. In terms of detail, there is not much difference with the 2x telephoto lens of the Galaxy Note10, but in low light the S20 even benefits from a faster lens.

The wide-angle camera has also changed. With the same matrix size, the number of pixels decreased, and the size of an individual pixel, respectively, increased from 1 μm to 1.4 μm. This improved the performance of the camera in low light. But in good light, the Galaxy Note10’s ultra-wide-angle camera takes better pictures. Photos look less processed, without such aggressive sharpening and with better dynamic range. Compare the zoomed section shot with two cameras:

You can better understand the difference by looking at the originals:

By and large, at the moment there is no huge difference between the pictures taken with the Galaxy S20 and Galaxy Note10. The matrix itself is capable of producing a better result, but the algorithms need further refinement. And, most likely, such improvements will be made.

Galaxy S20 vs Galaxy Note10. Compare autonomy and performance

Galaxy S20 Galaxy Note10
CPU Exynos 990 (7 nm) Exynos 9825 (7 nm)
Memory 8/128 GB (UFS 3.0) 8/256 GB (UFS 3.0)
Memory cards there is Not
Battery 4000 mAh 3500 mAh

In terms of performance and autonomy, both devices are approximately on the same level. Of course, in synthetic tests, the Galaxy S20 wins last year’s flagship by a large margin, but in fact there is no particular difference in their work.

In games, both smartphones noticeably heat up. Heat is also felt when the camera is operating or during navigation. The proprietary Exynos processor plays a noticeable role in this, since the version on the Snapdragon processor (supplied officially in the USA and several other countries) does not heat up so much and generally works better.

Again, in the tests, both smartphones show a slight drop in performance under maximum load (the so-called throttling). This is how the overheating protection works.

Interestingly, the Galaxy Note10 already had a very fast UFS 3.0 memory. Massively, this type of memory began to be installed on flagships only in 2020. Accordingly, this even more neutralizes the difference in performance between the two devices. True, in the Galaxy Note10 this memory is 2 times more (128 against 256 GB), but the Galaxy S20 supports memory cards.

In terms of battery life, unfortunately, the Samsung Galaxy S20 doesn’t show much improvement. The Galaxy Note10 has a problem with that. If the novelty works with a 120 Hz screen refresh rate, both smartphones will work, depending on the usage scenario, for about a day with 5 hours of screen operation. Disabling 120Hz, Galaxy S20 gives a little over 6 hours of screen time.

The charging time over the wire is about the same, since the chargers for smartphones are identical, with a capacity of 25 watts. If using wireless charging, the Galaxy S20 supports 15 watts versus 12 watts on the Galaxy Note10.

Samsung Galaxy S20 vs Galaxy Note10 comparison. Which smartphone to choose?

Communicating periodically on technical forums, I observe the same picture. When the new flagship X is released, there is always a certain audience that does not see enough reasons to change their smartphone to a new product, deciding to wait another year before the announcement of the next device. And that’s ok.

But time passes, a new model is announced, let’s call it the flagship Y, and it is not this novelty that becomes attractive, but the previous smartphone, which was not interesting before. That is, it is now not your smartphone with another novelty that is compared, but the flagship X and the flagship Y.

And since these people again do not see much difference, a decision is made to buy last year’s smartphone. And everyone is happy. I do not exclude the fact that manufacturers, when releasing expensive new products, mainly rely on an increase in sales of last year’s flagships at reduced prices.

Today we will look at just such a situation and compare in detail the two models: the Samsung Galaxy S20 and the previous flagship Samsung Galaxy Note10. The choice fell on these models precisely because of the identical sizes. Accordingly, this comparison review will be of interest primarily to those who are looking for a compact flagship from Samsung.

It was possible, of course, to compare Galaxy Note10 and Galaxy S20 (or even Ultra), but the goal was to choose a compact smartphone.

Galaxy S20 vs Galaxy Note10. Compare screens

Galaxy S20 Galaxy Note10
The size 6.2″ (20: 9) 6.3″ (19: 9)
Resolution 1440 x 3200 (563 ppi) 1080 x 2280 (401 ppi)
Modes HDR10, 120 Hz HDR10

Smartphone screens differ quite a bit. In fact, this is one of the key differences.

First of all, the display resolution of the Galaxy S20 (by the way, the highest among the entire line) is noticeably higher than that of the Galaxy Note10. Accordingly, the pixel density of the Galaxy S20 is 563 versus 401 ppi. The difference in detail is visible, as they say, with the naked eye. This is especially true for high contrast borders (e.G. Text).

The color rendition is also slightly different, in particular, the white color has become even closer to the ideal value with a temperature of 6500 K. The number of displayed colors has practically remained unchanged.

Both smartphones support HDR (HDR10 standard), but the Galaxy S20 display is capable of delivering slightly higher peak brightness when playing HDR content.

But the main feature of the novelty was, of course, the new 120 Hz screen refresh rate. A lot was said about this in the Galaxy S20 review, so I won’t repeat myself here. In short, the difference between 60Hz on the Galaxy Note10 and 120Hz on the Galaxy S20 is very visible. All animations are smoother and sharper at the same time.

On the other hand, the autonomy of the smartphone when working at 120 Hz drops by an average of 20%, and the screen resolution is also reduced to FullHD. Also, 120Hz does not work in games and when watching content.

The bezels around the screen are visually the same. The difference, if there is, is only on paper. But the diameter of the cutout in the screen for the selfie camera has been noticeably reduced. On the Galaxy S20, it looks neater and more discreet:

Reading text on the Galaxy S20’s screen is made more enjoyable by a display with minimal curvature at the edges.

In terms of viewing, there is approximately parity here. Widescreen movies look slightly better on the Galaxy S20’s 20: 9 display, while TV shows and YouTubes are preferable to watching on the Galaxy Note10 due to the 19: 9 aspect ratio (the screen is slightly wider).

Software differences between Galaxy S20 and Galaxy Note10

Both smartphones run Android 10, but last year’s flagship has One UI 2, and the new One UI 2.1.

In terms of functions, the difference is not so big, but it is there. The Galaxy S20 introduces Live Caption mode, which can convert any audio from your smartphone to subtitles. Redrawn and reworked some settings sections, for example display settings:

The Bixby widgets on the left of the home screen have been replaced with Samsung Daily. This is a collection of flashcards and breaking news that you can read right on your smartphone desktop:

There were also changes in the camera interface, a new Multi-shot mode was added, which in a short time creates several photos ands with various effects. Instagram mode disappeared somewhere.

The Galaxy S20 introduces the Quick Measure tool to measure distance and size between real objects:

The same tool was on the older Galaxy Note10, but is still missing on the Galaxy Note10.

Again, the Galaxy Note10 has a number of unique S-Pen features that you can read about in detail using the links provided earlier.

By and large, the difference in terms of software is small and clearly not worth it to change one smartphone to another or give preference to a certain smartphone just because of the presence of some software unique chips.

Galaxy S10 body colors (all models) which is better to choose?

This world will never be the same No, well, indeed, in 2019 Samsung even freaked out and released not only three different models (in fact, four do not forget about the Galaxy S10 5G) in its flagship Galaxy line, but also quite strongly differentiated them by body colors.

In simple terms: different colors are now available for different versions of the S10.

In our opinion, this did not make it easier for anyone, the user may simply get confused in the variety of colors and models.

But, as they say, the deed is done there is no turning back. We’ll have to figure out what body colors the Galaxy S10 is and, most importantly, which one to choose from all this? Drove!

All Samsung Galaxy S10e colors

The most inexpensive, but at the same time, the funniest smartphone in the Galaxy S10 lineup.

What is the fun? The fact that here the maximum variety of body colors awaits us.

So, the Galaxy S10e is sold in the following colors:

  1. Mother of pearl (white).
  2. Citrus (yellow).
  3. Onyx (black).
  4. Aquamarine (green).

Right off the bat, Citrus color is exclusive to the Galaxy S10e.

We don’t take such colors from his older brothers and stand out! 🙂

What color to choose Galaxy S10?

Everyone has different tastes, so you can’t say for sure buy a green Galaxy S10 and you will be happy with everything.

That is why, we will only share our opinion on the color choice of the Galaxy S10.

So, why take something?

  • Onyx (black) an all time classic. Good to everyone, except for two things. First, I’m a little fed up. Secondly, fingerprints are clearly visible, which you constantly have to wipe (well, or buy a cover).
  • Mother-of-pearl (white) classic for all seasons # 2. In fact, there is even nothing to add here white (yes, albeit a little iridescent), it is white.
  • Aquamarine (green) is for those who want a Galaxy S10 or S10 but are fed up with the standard white and black colors. Just in case, we warn you, be sure to look at this color of the case live. There is a suspicion that not everyone will like it.
  • Citrus (yellow) is the most fun and crazy color. We will repeat that it is available only for the younger model Galaxy S10e (which seems to be considered a youth option). And it is precisely because of this youth that, probably, the color can take off. And maybe not, after all, one yellowness does not take young people, you need more colors!

It should be admitted that this year we turned our attention only to black.

But in the case of the Galaxy S10, it turns out to be either completely fun (yellow), or something is missing (green). Therefore, our choice is just black.

By the way, about the ceramic Galaxy S10. If you choose ceramics, then know at some distance it is practically indistinguishable from ordinary.

You won’t be able to stand out 🙂

Galaxy S10 and S10 body colors

Everything is very simple and probably even boring somewhere. The middle and older Galaxy S10 were awarded the following colors:

  1. Mother of pearl (white).
  2. Onyx (black).
  3. Aquamarine (green).

Is it trite? Maybe yes. The only ray of light in the dark kingdom has a greenish tint and bears the proud name of aquamarine.

But! We all know (and who does not know, be sure to read this article) that the Galaxy S10 can be in two versions of the case:

  1. Usual.
  2. Ceramic.

And, it would seem, the most expensive smartphone in the Galaxy S10 lineup (ceramic S10) should certainly have some exclusive body colors.

In the case of the Galaxy S10, things turn out quite dreary. There are only two colors:

  1. White ceramics.
  2. Black ceramic.

Samsung, can we have at least some color variety? Thank you for the yellow and green colors, of course. But we would definitely not give up on the blue, red, gold, or even the crimson Galaxy S10! You can (the example of the Galaxy S9 confirms this)!

However, perhaps Samsung will be able to do it a little later. In the meantime, in the meantime, we will work and choose from what we have.

Bonus

In America, by the way, the Galaxy S10 exists in slightly different colors.

There is no yellow, but there is:

  1. Flamingo (pink).
  2. Prism (blue).

This allows us to hope that such colors will soon appear in our country. It would be great!
