Photos taken with Honor 9x

Specifications

Honor 9X is the first in the brand to receive a new chipset developed by the Chinese company. The Kirin 810 replaces the popular 710, which was the heart of many Huawei-Honor smartphones in 2018-2019. The new processor is made using a 7nm process technology, with 8 cores (2 Cortex-A76 cores with a frequency of 2.27 GHz and 6 Cortex-A55 cores with a frequency of 1.88 GHz) and a Mali-G52 MP6 GPU. In the AnTuTu benchmark, the new chipset is gaining more than 237 thousand “parrots”.

There are three memory configurations to choose from. 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of constant, 6/64 GB and maximum 6/128 GB. By the way, unlike the company’s flagships, they retained support for microSD memory cards.

The model is doing very well with wireless interfaces. it has dual band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, LTE and all kinds of navigation protocols. By the way, about Wi-Fi: the manufacturer talks about the use of certain technologies that can ensure reliable signal reception from an access point even through several reinforced concrete walls. At the presentation of the Chinese version, it was not said about the presence of a contactless payment chip in the phone, but the international deliveries of Honor 9X will most likely receive NFC, because this has already happened with Huawei / Honor. And further. there is a 3.5 mm audio jack, beloved by many users.

The novelty has quite modest photo capabilities by today’s standards, but they are at the level of the main competitors from Redmi and Realme. The main module has two sensors. the main 48 megapixel with an aperture of f / 1.8 (possibly a Sony IMX586) and the secondary 2 megapixel for creating bokeh shots. There are also software “chips” here: artificial intelligence for scene recognition, maximum ISO up to 102400 bright pictures even in the dark (the manufacturer modestly kept silent about the noise level with such a sensitivity). Special AIS Handheld Super Night View 2.0 mode, when detecting the absence of smartphone shaking, sets shutter speeds up to 30 seconds to get better photos in low light.

And a few words about the front camera. Here it is hiding in a pull-out module and has a resolution of 16 megapixels. There is also a face unlock function, but in a smartphone with a retractable front camera, this is still a pleasure.

What could the Honor 9X be

Although Honor 9X is considered a mid-range model, judging by the information leaks, the smartphone will follow the trends of 2019 in almost everything. So, 9X will receive a 6.39-inch IPS-screen without cutouts and with thin bezels. The 9X Pro version will have a slightly larger display (6.59 inches) with similar specs. Unfortunately for the fans, this generation decided to ditch the 7-inch version of the Max.

Framelessness in the smartphone was achieved thanks to a fashionable retractable 16 megapixel front camera. The main difference between the 9X version and the 9X Pro. main photomodule. If the first model has two sensors in the module (48 and 2 Mp), then the extended version also gets a wide-angle 8 Mp.

The “heart” of both versions will be the latest chipset developed by Huawei Kirin 810. This processor replaced the popular 710 and has every chance of surpassing it in all respects. The pre-top-level chipset operates at a frequency of up to 2.27 GHz, is made using a 7-nm process technology and has a graphics subsystem in the form of GPU Mali-G52 MP6. Huawei promises that smartphones with this processor have high everyday and gaming performance.

Depending on the configuration, the Honor 9X will have 6-8 GB of RAM and 64-128 GB of storage. Honor 9X Pro will be presented with only 8 GB of RAM and 64/128/256 GB of ROM to choose from.

According to rumors, the manufacturer will not save on wired and wireless communications in new products. The Honor 9X will feature NFC, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth version 5, as well as Type-C ports and 3.5mm audio jack.

Technical part

First, let’s remember what is inside the smartphone and what it is built on.

The Honor 9X is built on the basis of the Huawei chipset. this is the HiSilicon Kirin 810, created using a 7nm process technology. These 7 nanometers already say a lot, for example, that heat generation will be at a sufficiently low level, and, accordingly, energy efficiency will be higher. The Kirin 810 processor is eight-core, two fat Cortex-A76 cores are clocked at 2.27 GHz and six energy-efficient Cortex-A55s are clocked at 1.88 GHz maximum. The Mali-G52 is installed as a video core. Mali is a video processor from the creators of Cortex cores, if anyone doesn’t know. And Adreno, in turn, belongs to Qualcomm, which bought this division from AMD. Well that’s another topic of conversation. So you shouldn’t be afraid of Mali.

This chipset, HiSilicon Kirin 810, is popularly a processor that is more powerful than the Snapdragon 730 (like the Helio G90T), and more powerful than the Helio G90T itself, which is created using a 12nm process technology.

Thus, a smaller process technology is always better for games, since it heats up less, which means there will be less throttling. In simple terms, when the processor heats up to a certain threshold temperature, the controller starts dropping its clock frequencies to cool the chipset, which leads to drawdowns in games. That is why they installed improved cooling in Note 8 Pro, which seems to cope with its duties, but sometimes it is not enough.

Honor 9X. tests and benchmarks

Honor 9X heavy gaming benchmarks and synthetic benchmarks Honor 9X vs. Note 8 Pro.

I recently tested Redmi Note 8 Pro with might and main, I think this smartphone does not need any introduction, it works on the latest Helio G90T chipset. And at the same time I also tested its performance in an article about the Note 8 Pro chipset, but now I want to get better acquainted with its main competitor. Honor 9X. Do not confuse it with the Pro version of Honor, they are already asking for other money for it and it is already a competitor to more expensive phones.

I ran the Note 8 Pro through stress tests, benchmarks and games, and in fact, the mid-budget smartphone performed rather poorly, which I consider worthy for a device with a price of 200. And all this I want to do in the Honor 9X, which also cool gadget, but on an even more powerful new processor, and I want to understand in more detail what this chip from Huawei is capable of. I reviewed the Honor 9X, if you are interested in detailed information about the device, I advise you to read.

Synthetic tests

Classic benchmarks first, then games. After all, benchmarks are our everything, aren’t they?

3DMARK: Sling Shot Extreme. 2242 points on OpenGL ES3.1 and 2481 points with Vulkan, which in the comparison table puts the device higher than the Redmi K20 (Snapdragon 730).

The Antutu test was done in a clever way, running the first test, then the stress test, then the general test again.

For an illustrative example, I will immediately give the results also for Redmi Note 8 Pro:

How to Manage Camera Pro Mode HUAWEI Honor 9X – Camera Settings

Antutu results Honor 9X and Note 8 Pro.

  • Total points. 286.425;
  • CPU. 92.544;
  • GPU. 82.466;
  • Memory. 63.248.

First, we see that the gap from Redmi is not that big, 10.000 points is nothing. Secondly, we see that the performance of the CPU (computational cores of the processor, not the chipset as a whole) is even worse than in Helio G90T. Both video cards are Mali, but the difference is again insignificant. Honor is better in memory by as much as 10.000 points, most likely because it has an internal memory of the UFS 2.1 format.

The stress test lasts 15 minutes, I ran 3 such tests, which means a total of 45 minutes of stress test on the Honor 9X. This test clearly demonstrates throttling (frequency drop), temperature and battery discharge rate.

All three runs showed the same results, and they are such that the processor worked stably, there were no drawdowns, the Cortex-A76 and Cortex-A55 cores worked at their maximum frequencies. At the same time, the battery charge dropped by 5% in each test, and the phone warmed up to 38 degrees as a result:

Honor 9X stress test.

And after all this, the final re-test in Antutu showed all the same results, there are no changes.

HiSilicon Kirin 810 proved to be a very stable chipset, I am completely satisfied with all synthetic tests.

GameBench.

Tests in Games

I will test Honor 9X in PUBG, WoT Blitz, Shadowgun Legends and Call of Duty Mobile games. During testing, the GameBench program will be used, for example, to display FPS numbers in the game.

First, I launched PUBG and using the GFX Tool, I screwed the graphics settings:

  • FullHD 1080 × 1920;
  • HDR;
  • 60 FPS;
  • Anti-aliasing 4x;
  • High quality for shadows, rendering, shadow distance, draw distance, texture and effect quality;
  • 64-bit color format.

PUBG.

I’ll say right away that PUBG is the smoothest and most stable game I’ve tested in this roundup. No problem, stable 58. 61 FPS throughout the game for 30 minutes. There were no drawdowns at all, the FPS counter never dropped below 58. Even when shooting in dynamic scenes with many players. In 30 minutes, the discharge was 10%, while the phone warmed up to 40 degrees. This is given the decent graphics settings at 60 FPS.

He allowed the phone to cool down to 33 degrees and launched Shadowgun Legends. this is one of the most difficult games for smartphones, it makes the flagship chipsets “fuck up”, even the Snapdragon 855 starts to jump in FPS after some time of the game. I set the settings as follows:

  • Graphics: ultra;
  • Fps limit: 60;

Shadowgun legends.

It must be admitted that this heavy game runs better than on the Note 8 Pro. Where Redmi starts to lag, in the 9X it goes smoothly. Basically, to generalize, the game shows from 45 to 60 FPS, but there are drawdowns up to 30 FPS, I have not seen below. For comparison, Redmi showed up to 25 FPS with the same settings. Within 30 minutes of the game, the battery discharge was 10%, and the phone warmed up to 41.6 degrees. This is quite a tolerable indicator for such a game.

The next game on the Honor 9X test is your favorite tanks WoT Blitz, oh, how many years have I played it on PC, from the CBT itself Someone loves them, some do not, but this is one of the reference games for testing. The graphics settings are as follows:

  • All graphics are set to High;
  • Anisotropic filtering x16;
  • FPS limit: 60;
  • Camouflage: for everyone;
  • Vegetation: high;
  • HD textures;
  • Grass in a sniper scope.

WoT Blitz.

In general, tanks are a game that is difficult to predict. For most of the playing time, I saw an FPS value of 55-60, but with drawdowns, and these drawdowns were very serious at such graphics settings, up to 25 FPS. These drawdowns below 55 FPS happen very rarely, but they were, for example on

The final game on the test after cooling the phone to 33 degrees was Call of Duty Mobile. I set the following settings for it:

  • Graphics quality: all Very High;
  • Depth of Field: On;
  • Bloom: On.

Call of duty mobile.

Discover Best Tips For Camera in Honor 9X. Camera Top Tricks

The game runs stably at 56. 60 frames per second, as on the Note 8 Pro. The game is well optimized and usually phones perform well in it. After 30 minutes of playing, the phone was discharged by 13%, and warmed up to 37 degrees.

Based on the results of all of the above, we have another leader, besides the Redmi Note 8 Pro, among gaming smartphones in the mid-budget segment. Honor 9X. To summarize, I will say that this is an ideal gaming smartphone, but it also has its drawbacks, which you can read about in the article on comparing Note 8 Pro and Honor 9X.

How to take a screenshot on HONOR phones (HUAWEI)

Honor devices are very popular among the country’s population. These are powerful smartphones with an abundance of functions, pleasant ergonomics and a large monitor. Thanks to the size of the screen, it is convenient to take screenshots from it. You should figure out how to photograph your desktop, and what you can do with the resulting photographs.

The fifth method is to take a long screenshot of the screen

There is another interesting feature for Honor phone users. The size of the monitor does not always allow you to completely capture an image or text. In such cases, you have to take several screenshots. You can solve the problem using the “Long screenshot” option. It allows you to capture a large amount of text by scrolling it while creating a photo.

To take a “long screenshot”, you need to proceed as follows:

  • Take a normal screenshot (using any of the methods presented above).
  • Click on its preview (a small picture that appears in the lower left part of the monitor immediately after the operation).
  • Select “Long”.
  • Scroll the image on the desktop to the point where the screenshot should end.
  • Select the corresponding button to complete the selection of the fragment.

The long screenshot will appear in the same place as the other desktop photos. It should be noted that due to the large amount of data, the “weight” of such photos exceeds that of their standard counterparts. Alternatively, you can use the method described in the previous section.

Answers to popular questions

The above describes all the main ways how you can take a picture of the contents of your desktop. However, after the screenshot is taken, you can carry out certain manipulations with it, for example, crop or combine several photos into one large one (in fact, make a collage).

How to make a collage

If you can crop an image using the functionality of Honor phones, then you cannot combine several screenshots into one photo in this way. To do this, you will have to use third-party software. The following applications have proven themselves well:

  • Magic Photo Collage;
  • PicsArt;
  • PixIr;
  • Layout.

It is up to the user to decide which application to use. The exact procedure for creating a collage depends on the program. In addition to the specified software, you can find other applications. The user must try out different programs himself, and then decide which one is most convenient for him to use.

Using third-party applications

As is the case with many other actions, smartphone owners are not limited to using the standard functionality of their devices. Third-party developers are constantly releasing applications that enhance the capabilities of phones. This also applies to the creation of screenshots.

In this case, two applications can be distinguished:

  • Screenshot. A very popular program that is simple and reliable. There are several ways to take screenshots. After the photo is taken, it is saved only after confirmation of this action by the user (thanks to which you can significantly save space on the phone). The functions of cropping, highlighting the area, adding text to the image, etc. are also available.
  • Screenshot Easy. Another popular representative of this type of software. Allows you to take pictures in a variety of ways, including using gestures. It is also possible to edit the captured picture.

The first way is to use mechanical keys

The easiest and fastest way to take a screenshot, but it is not suitable for everyone. You can take a picture of the device screen as follows:

  • Open on the screen the page that you want to capture in the photo.
  • Simultaneously hold down the off and volume down keys (it is important to do this exactly at the same time, and not alternately).
  • Hold down the specified keys for a few seconds.

If the user did everything correctly, a screenshot will be obtained in a few seconds. You can understand that it has been made by two characteristic features:

  • Clicking that sounds like a camera shutter.
  • An inscription on the phone monitor indicating that the image is saved at a specific address.

This method of shooting is provided for almost all phones running Android OS.

Where can I find the photos I took

The first thing to consider is that screenshots are saved in a separate folder, they cannot be found where ordinary photos are stored. In order to get acquainted with the taken screenshots of the desktop, go to the Gallery, and then select the folder with the name “Screenshots”. All pictures taken by him on the device will be displayed in front of the user.

If the user decided to use the explorer, or wants to transfer the taken photos to the PC, you need to look for the Screenshots directory in the Pictures folder. It should be remembered that although screenshots take up less disk space, they still have a certain “weight”. Therefore, it is recommended to delete unnecessary files from time to time.

Working hours

The Honor 9X smartphone has a 4000 mAh non-removable battery. During the test, I received the following numbers:

  • Video playback at maximum brightness. 8 hours
  • Games at maximum brightness. 6 hours 20 minutes
  • Screen glow time in operation mode. up to 5 hours
  • Music playback. 108 hours
  • Calls (3G). up to 28 hours
  • Games. up to 10 hours
  • Video playback. up to 22 hours.

In the kit you will find a 5V / 2A power adapter. Honor 9X charges in 2 hours 20 minutes.

Display

In this model, the screen is quite large. 6.59 inches. The usual resolution is 2340×1080 pixels (FullHD), the density is 390 pixels per inch. than enough for a clear display of the picture, given that the display matrix is made using LTPS technology.

The display frames of Honor 9X are 4 mm, bottom. 7 mm, top. 4 mm, right and left. 3.5 mm each. I would like to see already symmetrical frames.

The screen is bright (450 cd / m2. more than the declared value), with rich color reproduction, the image is not distorted at the corners, it fades a little in bright light.

In the display options, you can select the resolution, text size, color temperature, or adjust eye protection.

Below you can see the data obtained from the calibrator. In short, everything is fine, without any obvious excesses in colors.

Musical possibilities

This model uses two speakers: one for conversations, the other for speakerphone output. No stereo, unfortunately.

The main speaker is quiet, sounds extremely simple, the sound is flat and inexpressive.

The sound, as usual, was tested on Meizu Flow wired headphones. I liked everything, but the low frequencies were not enough. Wireless Bose QC35 “shakes” well, TWS-headphones Meizu POP play quietly, but JBL Armor is just class.

Among the applications you can find FM radio. For it to work, you need to connect a headset.

Positioning

Today, the Honor brand has introduced two new products under the same name. the 9X. The main differences from each other: in one version there are two cameras and NFC, in the other. three cameras and there is no contactless payment chip. It’s strange isn’t it?

I asked for a review of a model with two cameras, because for a Russian user NFC is more relevant than ever, but an additional camera for many is still pampering.

The Honor 9X device is a frameless smartphone with a FullView display, that is, it has no cutouts, no bangs, or cameras built into the screen. Another feature is the selfie camera extending from the top of the body.

All in all, the Honor 9X is a relatively affordable smartphone with a large FullView screen and a pop-up selfie camera.

At the time of this writing, surprisingly, the Huawei P Smart Z costs the same, which is almost a copy of the 9X.

Memory, chipset and performance

Honor 9X smartphone uses 4 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage (113 GB available).

The RAM speed is 6390 MB / s. a normal result for a device for 17,000. 18,000 rubles. Flash memory speed is not bad. 171/220 MB / s. Of course, there is a slot for a microSD memory card (up to 512 GB), but it is combined with a SIM card.

As a processor, Huawei chose SoC HiSilicon Kirin 710F (12 nm, ARM 4xCortex-A73 2.2 GHz 4xCortex-A53 1.7 GHz) with a Mali-G51 MP4 graphics accelerator. Supports proprietary GP Turbo 3.0 technology.

For those who prefer tests, here is the example of Antutu: the smartphone is gaining a little over 130,000 points. a good result in general, but not for “heavy” toys in ultra-graphics. In this case, the performance is similar to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 chipset found in the huge Huawei 8X Max.

I can’t say that the Honor 9X is very fast, but it can’t be called slow either. There are no obvious jams, the animation is smooth. With games, everything is simple: PUBG at minimum wages, Call of Duty can be played at medium wages.

The Honor 9X is running Google Android version 9, and the proprietary EMUI 9.1 shell is installed on top of the system. The funny thing is, in the system, the phone is displayed as STK-LX1, and this is the familiar Huawei P Smart Z.

Appearance, ergonomics and software

Honor 9X is the most inexpensive smartphone with a retractable front camera to date, along with Huawei P Smart Z. It is surprising to meet a gadget of such a bizarre form factor in the “under 20 thousand rubles” segment. even after the vivo V15 Pro “broke the bar” in 30 thousand. This decision can really become a serious trump card in the struggle for consumer attention, Honor 9X stands out well against the background of competitors, which all received rather ugly, albeit familiar, cutouts of a wide variety of configurations.

The retractable module is implemented in this controversial way. It takes him about two seconds to get out of the case, and the same amount to hide back. This is so far the slowest mechanism of all that I have seen. it is logical that the face identification system has bypassed the Honor 9X, few would tolerate such delays. Another point concerns the issue of the physical safety of the module when the smartphone falls. Most likely, the press release will mention that, following the gyroscope signal, it will hide in time, but in practice this was not confirmed. I purposely dropped the smartphone on soft surfaces, the module remained in place.

At the same time, the developers could not completely get rid of the framework, or, more likely, did not want to. after all, we are talking about a mid-budget device. The 6.59-inch screen occupies 84.6% of the bezel area. The chin turned out to be especially outstanding, as is often the case. But due to the absence of any inclusions in the surface of the display, we get the opportunity to watch full-screen videos with complete comfort. in the age of the victorious YouTube, this is a serious plus.

Honor 9X, front panel: a large screen with small bezels, above it you can see a slot for the earpiece

Honor 9X, back panel: in the upper left corner. a triple camera unit and a single LED flash; center. fingerprint scanner

Another sign of more expensive smartphones, which is slowly moving into the budget segment, is an all-glass body with a metal frame. Here Honor 9X is no longer among the pioneers, there are many more similar devices. The smartphone is trying to stand out against the general background with an unusual texture of the back panel and bright colors. The latter, however, concerns more of the “younger” Honor 9X, presented in four colors. The older one, who came to our test, offers a choice between black and blue options. the second one looks very cool. Well, let’s note the obvious continuity with the older Honor. Honor View 20, Honor 20 and Honor 20 Pro. The design roots of the Honor 9X are visible without any problems. and this is more of a plus for the zoo-minded Chinese.

Honor 9X, the left side is devoid of functional elements

Honor 9X, right-hand side: power / lock and volume / shutter keys

The back panel is not only made of glass, but also, according to the latest fashion, is slightly curved. the smartphone, albeit beautiful, is very slippery and is capable of leaving on its own from insufficiently flat surfaces. Be careful, and it is better to immediately put the gadget in the complete silicone case. It is relatively thin, it will not add too much to a massive (206 g) and large (inevitable for a device with a 6.59-inch display) smartphone.

Honor 9X, top side: slide-out front camera module, slot for operator cards / memory cards, microphone

Honor 9X, bottom side: mini-jack, microphone, USB Type-C port, main speaker

The good news is that despite the presence of sliding elements in the design, the analog audio jack of the 3.5 mm standard is retained here. Pass this on to Samsung, which was precisely the technical impossibility of justifying the lack of a mini-jack in the case of its A80. And then, without any even far-fetched reasons, I got rid of it in the Galaxy Note10.

The Honor 9X is arranged traditionally, but with progress relative to its predecessor Honor 8X. here, unlike last year’s device, a USB Type-C port appeared. MicroUSB is drifting more and more rapidly towards eternity. But the fingerprint scanner was located not under the screen, but on the rear panel. should at least something indicate the relative budget of the gadget? This is a capacitive sensor, it is located in a convenient place, it works instantly and without errors. To be honest, both the type of sensor and its location suit me more than the proliferating optical / ultrasonic sub-screen sensors. The only drawback is that you cannot unlock your smartphone without taking it off the table.

Honor 9X smartphone review: on the bandwagon of the departing train

With the launch of smartphones on the world market, Huawei’s budget and youth division, Honor, always faces the same situation. the gadget has been on sale in China for a couple of months now, and here the European premiere of a completely new device is held with fanfare. Honor 9X is no exception, the model was presented in China back in July / August, but only reached us at the end of October.

Why July / August? Here is the second snag, already unusual. The fact is that there are two versions of the Honor 9X. regular and Pro. They differ in the number of cameras (two and three, respectively), the presence of NFC (the younger version has, the older one does not; why. do not ask, there is no logic), body color options. And in Russian retail both will be presented under the same names. Honor 9X. but with two cameras or three. At least at the time of writing the material on the version known in China as Honor 9X Pro, the situation was as follows. Perhaps, at the moment of the official presentation of the device, something will change. for example, the two-chamber version will not appear at all with us. Or they will come up with some kind of their own index, like Lite. We will see.

Here. about Honor 9X. I will no longer mention that this is the Pro version. This is a smartphone of the lower middle class the most popular in Russia, if you do not take ultra-budget devices. with very noticeable characteristics: proprietary platform HiSilicon Kirin 710, 6 GB of RAM, 6.59-inch display, three rear cameras, retractable (!) front camera, glass-metal body, full-fledged Android without docked Google Services. We are dealing with one of the main contenders for the bestseller title in this extremely saturated segment of the smartphone market.

Where its main competitor will be, apparently, the Huawei Smart Z, which has already been sold for a couple of months, to which the new Honor is very similar. both in the filling and in the external design; but there are also differences. a triple camera and more memory.

Honor 9X. information about the filling according to the CPU-Z application

Display and sound

The Honor 9X has the same display as the Huawei P Smart Z. we already wrote about it. This is a large IPS-matrix with a resolution of 2340 × 1080 pixels (format. 19.5: 9) with an ordinary pixel density of 391 ppi. This is enough to make the picture look good without noticeable graininess. The difference can be seen only if you put a much more “dense” smartphone next to it.

The viewing angles are normal, even with a strong deviation of the gaze from the perpendicular, the contrast almost does not drop. the matrix is of sufficient quality. There is an oleophobic coating, prints are wiped off the screen without any problems. Touch coating responds to 10 simultaneous touches.

The measured maximum brightness level is 450 cd / m2. for an LCD display, the indicator is average at best, although not the worst for its class. Thanks to the polarizing layer, you can use your smartphone on a sunny day, albeit not very comfortable.

Honor 9X Camera Test | Triple Camera | Night Mode

The default operating contrast ratio is 1159: 1. Again, mediocre. Deep blacks from the Honor 9X you won’t wait for.

In the screen settings, you can turn on eye protection (the mode with the warmest colors), adjust the resolution (HD or Full HD) or font size, and also adjust the color rendition. choose between two profiles, “normal” and “vivid”. By default, the smartphone is offered to be used with the screen in “bright” mode. I measured color rendering in both with dim indoor artificial lighting.

The color gamut in the “bright” mode is slightly higher than the sRGB standard, but not even close to DCI-P3. The gamma is below normal (1.94 at the reference limits of 2.2-2.3), and the curves fall strongly in light colors. The color temperature “dances” in the range from 8,000 to 10,500 K, there is no stable median here. In any case, the tones are cold, far from the reference temperature. The average deviation of Delta E on the Color Checker, which includes a wide range of colors and several shades of gray, is 7.50. This is also very far from the norm (3.00).

Honor 9X, color temperature in normal color mode. Blue Line. Honor 9X Performance, Dotted Line. Reference Temperature

In the “normal” color rendering mode, the situation is generally straightened out. Yes, the gamma curves also do not behave very well, and the average indicator is about the same 1.96, but otherwise the color rendition is much closer to the norm. The color temperature curve is lower, at the level of 7,000-7,300 K with a small jump up to 8,500 K. The colors are a little cold, but no longer critical. The average deviation for the extended Color Checker palette is 3.69. Color gamut close to sRGB.

The Honor 9X does not offer any revelations as a device for playing music. but at least it can offer a mini-jack, which will be very much to the taste of connoisseurs of wired headphones. Sound quality is normal. There is Bluetooth 5.0 with all the profiles necessary for transferring data with high quality: aptX, aptX HD, LDAC. The speaker is monaural, located on the bottom edge. It is not very loud, and I have no epithets regarding its capabilities.
