Mouse Does Not Work On Lenovo Laptop

Welcome to smartronix.ru! We all know what the touchpad is for. The touchpad (touchpad) is an input and control device for a laptop; it is a kind of replacement for a laptop mouse. Often, many owners of laptops, ultrabooks and netbooks are faced with an unpleasant problem when the touchpad stops working. Disabling the touchpad can occur after reinstalling Windows or just during the daily work on the computer. Why does the touchpad not work?

The instructions on this page are just designed to solve the situation when the touchpad does not work on the laptop. As you probably know, there are quite a few laptop manufacturers: Asus, Acer, Apple (on Apple laptops, the touch pad is called the trackpad) Dell, HP, Sony, Lenovo, Msi, Packard bell, Toshiba, Samsung, Fujitsu other. But on most modern models, any manufacturer has provided hot keys that can turn on the touchpad, as if by magic. With these hot keys we will begin our instruction.

If the touchpad does not work

So, the first thing to do if the touchpad does not work is to find a hot key that turns it on. Since all laptop manufacturers are different, the keyboard shortcut is also different. For example, on laptops Hewlett Packard (HP) the hot key is just one special key with which you can enable the touch pad. Or a special button / dimple (depending on the model of the HP laptop), which is located in the corner / top of the touchpad.

Mouse Does Not Work On Lenovo Laptop

Most other laptop manufacturers use a bunch of keys to turn on the touchpad. Fn and some of the keys from F1 before F9. Usually, a schematic icon is shown on the desired key, as shown in the photo above. Here are the popular keyboard shortcuts for the most common manufacturers:

  • For laptops Acer. FnF7.
  • For laptops Asus. fnf9.
  • On a laptop Lenovo. FnF8.
  • On a laptop Dell. FnF5.
  • For Toshiba. FnF9 keys.
  • For Sony Vaillot. FnF1.
  • For laptops Samsung. Fn F5 or F6.
  • For ISI. Fn F3 keys.
  • For Packard bell. FnF6 keys.

Turn on touchpad programmatically on Windows

Unfortunately, the above keyboard shortcuts are not suitable for all laptop models. As mentioned above, touchpads on laptops HP can be switched on with a special button / recess located in the corner or on top of the touchpad. And for example, with laptops Sony VAIO everything can be even more complicated. they do not have the F keys responsible for turning on the touchpad. What to do in such a situation? Everything is quite simple, you need to enable the touchpad in Windows 7 or Windows 8. This is done like this:

Going to “Devices and Printers” you need to select the laptop icon, which is named after your computer. After clicking on the laptop icon, the “Control Center” will appear in which you need to select the menu item “Keyboard and Mouse”. Next, find the sub-item “Built-in pointing device” and check the box “Enable”. If you have any difficulties, watch this:

If neither the hotkeys nor the software enabling the touchpad helped, then perhaps the problem lies more deeply. This is our next chapter.

Enabling the touchpad in the laptop BIOS and checking its driver

If your touchpad has stopped working and there is no rumor or spirit in the system about it, then you need to check the laptop driver and BIOS. On many laptop models, the touchpad is included in the BIOS of the computer. For beginners who do not know what the BIOS is and how to enter this BIOS, we recommend reading the instructions here. Once in the BIOS, you need to find the menu item that is responsible for turning on the touchpad. Usually this item is called “Internal Pointing Device”, which, when translated into Russian, just the touch panel also means.

Accordingly, you need to set this parameter to “Enabled”. In addition to turning off the touchpad in the BIOS, you need to check whether the touch panel driver is installed in the operating system. This is especially true for those who do not work scrolling on the touchpad. Most modern laptops have on-board touchpad drivers from the company Synaptics. If you are not sure that everything is in order with the driver (for example, you reinstalled the OS before), then you need to go to the Windows device manager (“Control Panel “System”) and find the touchpad driver:

True, this method of updating the driver does not always work and the system cannot find the source. Therefore, if scrolling does not work on the touchpad, there is an alternative option. go to the website of the laptop manufacturer, find the driver download section and download the driver for your laptop model and update them manually. Also, if the vertical scrolling does not work, you should check the following parameter in the mouse settings (if you changed something there):

“Control Panel” “Mouse” “Device Settings” again “Options” “Virtual scroll function”

Sometimes, if the touchpad stops working unexpectedly, system recovery helps:

“Start” “Standard” “Service” “System Restore”

On this our instruction is completed, we hope now your touch pad has earned and the laptop functions as before. If, after reading the article, the touchpad still does not work, ask questions in the comments, indicating the model of the laptop and the steps that were taken to operate the touch panel.

Good afternoon! There is a question about the unstable operation of the touchpad. Dell Inspiron n5110. At home it works as it should, but at work it feels like certain areas of the touchpad are dying. No one knows what the matter is. Fresh firewood installed directly

SMARTRONIX

If you write about the same laptop, the touchpad works at home, but it crashes at work, the reason may be in external factors.
At home or at work, something is connected to the laptop (some equipment, network cable, wifi network, charger, etc.)
Unless you are working in an enterprise with high humidity, irradiation, radio interference, etc.

SMARTRONIX

Hello. You have disabled the touchpad or is it a driver failure. Check all combinations with the Fn key of the F1 to F12 key.
On some models, the touchpad is controlled by a touch button on the touchpad itself, in the corner of it.
Reset bios to factory settings there may also be an enable / disable parameter.
Download the new touchpad driver for your model from the manufacturer’s website and install it.
The mouse can be purchased the cheapest, price 200-300r

The sensor has stopped working for me. The laptop is called COMPAQ, I’m a 70 year old teapot. I’m self-taught, help me what to do, maybe I pressed the wrong button. Ask no one, I live in a private house, there’s the same raw materials like me and none who does not have a laptop

Press the keys http://compconfig.ru/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/asus-keyboard.jpg (only you may not have F9, but some other)
Still, on the touchpad itself, in the extreme corner there may be a touch button (light bulb), you need to click on it 2a times.

Good afternoon. My Toshiba satellite l500d-16Q laptop doesn’t have a touchpad. I updated the drivers from the site’s site, tried to turn on the non-effect via the hot keys. BIOS has no settings for turning on the touchpad. I am tormented for 2 days the whole Internet rummaged through the effect of 0. I even untwisted it and checked the loop, everything is in order. Help, I beg you.

SMARTRONIX

Hello. Check by booting in safe mode.
Perhaps the touchpad is turned on by touching the corner of the touchpad itself.
Open the device manager, check that there is no faulty equipment.

Andrew

Good afternoon. Once again asking for help. I downloaded the laptop in safe mode, it could not. Checked Dispatcher everything works. Synaptics PS / 2 Port TouchPad writes the device is working fine. On the touchpad itself there are not any recesses for incl. Maybe there are still some options7 Through software?
Help no strength to fight.

SMARTRONIX

Uninstall the touchpad control program if it is listed in the installed applications (Control Panel. Programs and Features).
Delete the touchpad device in the list of equipment (Device Manager), update the list, the driver should install automatically, check the operation of the touchpad.

Andrew

Did as you said. A yellow triangle appeared with an exclamation mark and writes the launch of this device is not possible error (code 10) but also writes the drivers for this device do not need to be updated. I do not understand anything…

SMARTRONIX

It seems like some kind of malfunction of the operating system or the device itself. Download the touchpad driver from the official website of the laptop manufacturer, for your model and OS version. Run the installer, try installing.
If it does not help, reinstall the system on windows7, most of the drivers will be installed automatically, but we recommend downloading from the manufacturer and installing everything that is.

Try to press the crossed out button on the hot keys.

Good evening. Sorry, I don’t know what is happening with the laptop. Asus, I turn on, everything works for 6 minutes, then the cursor moves, but no keys work, either on the keyboard or on the touchpad. In general, does not react to anything. Tell me please, what could it be.?

Hello. Please tell me what can be done. Installed windows 10 and the touchpad on the Asus laptop stopped working. I tried the fnf9 buttons and no result. Windows reinstalled itself

SMARTRONIX

Oleg, check in the device manager whether all the equipment is working properly and if there is a conflict.
Try to go to the website of the manufacturer of your laptop and download the touchpad driver for your model for windows 10
You can start system recovery on the date when the previous version of windows was installed

Olga

I was tormented with a similar problem on my MSI. After 3 hours of reading various English-language forums, I found the simplest solution: remove the Elan Touchpad driver from the “Programs” and restart the computer. I don’t even know what Windows10 did, installed, but the touchpad immediately worked fine.

Helena

Hello, after reinstalling the OS, scrolling and gestures on the touchpad do not work, the control panel does not have a touchpad at all, only a mouse and that’s it. Reinstalling drivers did not change anything, previously the same thing helped restore the system. Tell me what to do, Dell vostro 3500 laptop.

SMARTRONIX

Elena, which version of windows was installed and which was installed?

Polinka148

Hello.
At first, the Samsung laptop stopped seeing any mouse, both wireless and wired. I checked them on a stationary computer, both work. And then the touch panel didn’t work, but not everywhere, but only in the “Administrator” user, and the “Guest” user only the touch panel functions.
Help what to do. ((((

SMARTRONIX

Check your mouse in safe mode. There you can start system recovery to an earlier date when there were no problems.
Check if the USB connectors are working by connecting a keyboard, flash drive, etc.

Alexander

After installing Windows 10 on my ASUS, the touchpad turned on only from the control panel. There by default there was a shutdown function when there was a mouse in the USB port. So do not be surprised. In this case, the fnF9 softkey does not work, because the device is disconnected programmatically.

Natalya

Hello, I had windows7 on my netbook, the touch pad stopped working, when you call the task manager (altCtrlDel) it works, as soon as it goes to the desktop it doesn’t work again. There is no wired mouse, I urgently need a computer, what should I do?

SMARTRONIX

Natalia, try to boot in safe mode, check the operation in this mode. You can start system recovery. You can also connect a computer mouse and temporarily use it.

artem2104

Listen, guys, if someone had a problem with installing 10 Windu and the touchpad stopped working, it’s very easy to fix it (go to the device manager further “mouse and other devices and right-click on the“ Asus tach pad ”looking what model you have a laptop, and click Delete, delete and your laptop will reboot and everything will work like a clock.) Good luck)

SMARTRONIX

Hello. Try resetting bios to factory settings. Check the status of the touchpad in the device manager.
Perhaps it turns on / off, with a mechanical button on the laptop case or on the touchpad itself, in the corner.
The driver can be downloaded on the official website of the laptop manufacturer by selecting your model, OS version and its bit depth

Bullet

Hello. After updating win8. win10 the touchpad on / off button (indentation) on the HP 250 laptop stopped working. I won’t know how to make it work, as before. Thank you

SMARTRONIX

Hello, the reason is rather in the incompatibility of the driver for OS version 10, try downloading this driver yourself from the site of the laptop manufacturer for windows version 10

Albina

Hello, please tell me what to do if the touchpad stops working, the keyboard works, turn the F6 on or off. The touchpad still does not work, if you restart the laptop, the touchpad works. Lenovo vin-8.

SMARTRONIX

Hello, if the touchpad works after rebooting, then under what conditions does it stop working?

Victor

Hello! such a problem: I turn on the acer extensa 5620G laptop, everything loads and after loading a daisy appears and asks for a password under the daisy, I press the keys, it does not print, the touchpad cursor (ohm) does not move. I can not log in to reset the password. the laptop can be turned off only by the power button. I’ve been sitting on the Internet for 5 days looking for my problem, but alas, I didn’t find what

SMARTRONIX

Victor, try to boot in safe mode, the keyboard may work.
Try connecting the USB keyboard, wait a while for the driver to automatically install, reboot and try entering the password.
You can enter the BIOS and check the keyboard there.

Olga

Hello, I have an Acer E1-522 laptop. The touchpad stops working. Previously, I cleaned the system with CCleaner and after rebooting it started working. Now this program shows errors in the opera and does not clean completely. The touchpad does not turn on. The on / off buttons do not work. It was not possible to enter the BIOS according to the proposed keyboard shortcuts. When you open “devices and printers” on the control panel, it’s not the control center that is turned on, but the properties. I don’t know what to do already.

SMARTRONIX

Try to remove the touchpad device in the device manager, it will appear after a reboot. Reinstall the touchpad driver.
If it does not help, you can reinstall the system, ask friends.

Thanks for the article, helped to get started and was useful.

Hello, the hot keys did not help me, but I can’t get into the control panel because the touchpad does not work!

SMARTRONIX

You can connect a USB mouse to your laptop. Boot in safe mode and check there.

Evgeny

Thank you for the article and valuable advice! In a couple of hours we’ll see what helps.

Anastasia

Hello. After installing windows 10, the touchpad began to freeze, precisely after working with the keyboard. It hangs for 5 seconds, but has already become annoying. Notebook. HP Pavilion g6. Tell me what you can do.

SMARTRONIX

Anastasia, maybe the standard win10 driver for the touchpad does not quite fit, install from the manufacturer’s website of your laptop for OS version 10, if there is one

Hello! The problem is as follows. laptop ASUS X554S. Windows 10 was installed, everything worked. reinstalled on Windows 7. the touchpad does not work. which only did not set firewood, does not see the device even in unknowns.

SMARTRONIX

Hello. Can the touchpad be disabled by function keys?
Check the hardware in the device manager.
You can try to download the SamDrivers driver collection, run it, it will display the uninstalled equipment.

Function keys respond to everything except F9 (touchpad). only 2 devices with exclamation marks remain in the device manager. Intal Celeron Pentium Serial IO (SIO) I2C-22C1 and Unknown device (with ID. ACPI \ MSFT0101). As I understand it, they do not belong to the touchpad in any way. when you start the installation of asus smart gesture the error “asus smart gesture does not support your device’s touchpad function” appears; the latest release of “Driver Pack Solution” no longer detects any devices.

SMARTRONIX

Reinstall the system on windows7, already in the installation process, it should be possible to control the cursor using the touchpad.
Try installing the drivers using the SDI companion from the “Driver Pack Solution” kit, it handles detection and installation better.
But first, install the drivers from the manufacturer’s website, under your laptop model and OS version, only then run the collection.

so it’s already during the installation process, at the stage of partitioning the disks there is no touchpad and even the usb mouse does not work. I managed the keyboard in the hope that it will be delivered further. but no. drivers for my model on the site only for windows 10. that I could install from an Internet search. in the end, the picture. as I wrote in a previous post. The touchpad does not smell anywhere. usb mouse works in devices “Mice and other decree. device ”- HID-compatible mouse. you pull out the mouse, this item disappears. I have a thought. maybe on this laptop some thread is implemented software touchpad, not hardware? What can I install?

SMARTRONIX

Manufacturers do not always support older versions of the OS and you have to look for drivers yourself.
If you connect a USB mouse before turning on the laptop to install the OS, theoretically it should be determined and be in the windows7 installation wizard (although bios may have a parameter responsible for the usb port and device definition before loading the OS)
It is worth trying after installing the OS, nevertheless go through the SDI.exe collection or look for a driver for your model of laptop and windows 7 on the forums
Try installing the touchpad driver for win10.
Or install 10k, install a virtual machine (VirtualBox for example) and use windows 7 in it

Albina

Hello, please tell me what to do if the buttons do not work to adjust the brightness of the screen. I have 8 wines

SMARTRONIX

Is it a separate monitor or laptop display?

Irina

Notebook HP ProBook4730, the touchpad and mouse are disabled. After turning on the laptop, they work and after a few seconds, minutes they stop responding. If you go through a task manager to switch users, both the mouse and touchpad respond and work. as soon as you re-enter the system they stop working. restart the laptop again, work a little and stop. I solved the problem once in this way: I removed the image from the twin of the laptop and put it on this laptop, everything worked well and after half a year the same problem again. Help to deal with the problem. What to do?

SMARTRONIX

Try reinstalling the touchpad driver. Or reinstall the system completely.

Michael

Everything is very simple friends! Update the driver in the download center (for your laptop) Intel Serial IO Driver.

Thanks a lot, I turned off the campaign myself))) here I am stupid.

marahovarita

hello, I don’t know what to do, I went into the BIOS there is no such item, then I looked at the devices there only the mouse is standing and I don’t know how to install the driver, laptop acer extensa 2510G

SMARTRONIX

Hello, describe the problem in detail.

marahovarita

I bought an acer extensa laptop and a mouse to it, after a few days it became inconvenient to use the mouse, I wanted to go to the touchpad and looked for how to turn it on, pressed buttons, looked in the device manager, the driver does not show, only that the mouse is connected, and on the website There is no driver for the touch pad for my laptop, so please help me

SMARTRONIX

Check the touchpad angles, there may be an on / off button

marahovarita

no buttons and similar to them too

SMARTRONIX

Check in bios cursor works? Also, booting in safe mode.
The touchpad is disabled programmatically by pressing FN (you can try to remove / install the touchpad driver) or by a button on the laptop case, on the touchpad in the corner.

Hello. I have a Sony Vayo laptop. Not long ago I bought a new mouse wirelessly, after a couple of days on the screen the mouse began to walk and press itself. Reinstalling the drivers helped, but then after 2 days it started again the same way, then I changed my fly, I thought because of the mouse drivers they are fighting with the touchpad. But no. It’s worse to run and press the touchpad, reinstalling the driver didn’t help, reinstalling the Windows too, parsing and cleaning inside too, even dancing with a tambourine. There is such a moment after the reboot the mouse doesn’t immediately get mad, but if you put your finger over the touchpad 3 inches

4 then he kind of feels and begins to freak out. I don’t understand what the problem is. The touchpad didn’t hit, didn’t hit, didn’t eat at it, didn’t drink. Everything was fine and then just once and all. I don’t know what to do, to the service or how can I save? Please write to the mail. Thank you

SMARTRONIX

Hello, with the mouse turned off, does the cursor also move?
In safe mode, does the cursor also move?

Good day. Suddenly, unexpectedly, the touchpad began to slow down. it reacted with a 2nd or more pressing, then when it called up the “magic buttons” it generally died. And now, when loading the laptop, at first it somehow gives signs of life, after 10-15 minutes it does not work at all, but it can sometimes turn on. Updated drivers (DriverPack Solution) before the problem. Thanks. Notebook Lenovo 80E3, Windows 8.1

SMARTRONIX

Check the touchpad is in safe mode. Wipe the touchpad with a damp cloth. Try removing / inserting the touchpad cable.

Nasteel

Hello! For several times, the touchpad just froze (clicking on it works, but the cursor does not move). Drivers updated. What could be the reason?

SMARTRONIX

Perhaps you have it disabled, the touchpad moves in bios?

Thank you, it partially helped (although I always keep the laptop clean and often wipe it with a dry viscose cloth), to see the surface of the touchpad covered with a greasy film from the finger. But in some cases it still doesn’t work, for example, if you call the “magic buttons”, it still dies, when they disappear, it works again. I did not think that with this touchpad there would be such a mark. Thanks in advance.

KASPER89

Notebook Dell Inspiron 3551, after reinstalling from Win8.1 to Win7x64 the touchpad stopped working, the driver from the site is not installed. After manipulating the drivers, the keyboard disappears, but it is solved by automatically updating the drivers, if an error also pops up with the mouse (touchpad). In the properties of the equipment “error 10”. I can’t find the power button for the touchpad and it can’t.

SMARTRONIX

Try installing the driver from the SamDrivers driver collection

Novel

Good afternoon! I changed the thermal paste in the laptop Dell Inspiron N5110 (disassembled and assembled the case, of course). After that, the left touchpad button and the click function (like the left mouse button) on the touch panel stopped working. The right button works, the cursor movement with the touch button works. Reinstalled drivers, did not help. The buttons are pressed, everything is in order. What could be the problem?

SMARTRONIX

Hello. Connect a regular mouse, check if the left key is generally working in the system. If the problem is only with the touchpad, try disassembling the case again, remove the touchpad, inspect it carefully, the wires, loops, are there any visible damages, dirt may have gotten, the cable from the touchpad is completely inserted into the motherboard.

Hello! After turning on the Sony Vaio sve 1712t1rb, vertical scrolling works for several minutes until the desktop goes blank and immediately after restoring the desktop, scrolling no longer works. After the computer restarts, everything works again until the desktop turns off.

SMARTRONIX

Hello. Boot in safe mode, check the touchpad, if there are no problems, you can start system recovery to an earlier date when there were no problems

Marysya

Thanks a lot! She spent six months tied with a mouse to packard bell laptop until she found your article. I tried everything! But it was F6, and I goof)
Thanks again!

Paul

Hello. I don’t know why, but gestures on the touchpad stopped working. Notebook dell inspirion.

SMARTRONIX

Hello, try reinstalling the touchpad driver.
Check its settings in the control panel first.

Helena

Hello, the touchpad does not work on my aser aspire 5730 laptop. By itself, it runs around the screen, opens all sorts of windows. Please tell me what to do (((

SMARTRONIX

If the mouse moves with the touchpad and can open windows, then what doesn’t work?

Alexei

Hello, ASUS laptop, the touchpad harshly stopped working. Only the left “click” works. Movements are not perceived. Please tell me what to do?

SMARTRONIX

Alexey, try to boot in safe mode, check the touchpad, if it works, this is a software failure, start system recovery

Valeria

Hello, the touchpad does not work when I unplug the laptop from the wall outlet, everything else works fine.
Please tell me what to do

SMARTRONIX

If the touchpad turns off when you connect power to the laptop, then there is some kind of problem in the laptop.
Check this by booting in safe mode, if the problem persists, take the laptop to the manufacturer’s service center.

I have a hp elitebook 8470p. Suddenly, the touchpad stopped working, although in the morning everything was fine. That is, the touch panel and the keys below do not work, while the upper keys and the joystick work (if disabled in the settings, then everything does not work). I checked the drivers, the bios too, turned on / off the touchpad, nothing helped.

SMARTRONIX

The touchpad can be disabled by simultaneously pressing the FN function keys and one of the F keys with a touchpad image.
Also, try to double-click on the touchpad itself, in one of its corners.

Packard bell ts11sb / second day I can not beat the touch. according to the mistress, she died when she gave Windows to reinstall. set his 7-64. The touch does not work at all. BIOS is empty. There are no settings for the touch. All drivers from offsite. Everything except the touch was installed. Windows sees the touch in hidden devices. marked with an exclamation mark. writes the following The device is missing, does not work correctly, or not all drivers are installed for it. (Code 24). so how many drivers do you need it for? I tried everything.

SMARTRONIX

Reset bios to factory defaults. Try installing windows from a verified image, from a different drive, install windows XP, and preferably version 10, to check if the touchpad works. Please note if the touchpad works during windows installation. You can try to remove the top cover, the touchpad cable may have gone.

WinDoWs is checked, it has worked for more than one year, the BIOS has been reset, there are no settings for the touch, it threw off the cover. there are signs of disassembly, there are not enough screws, a wry assembly is possible. I’ll not go further into the depths. I will not change Windu either until I deal with iron

Alena

Hello. There is a problem with a disabled touchpad (not surprisingly). Lenovo laptop, recently changed thermal paste, after which the touchpad stopped working. In the device manager, it is not in principle, i.e. only the mouse connected to the laptop is present (when it is turned off, the “mouse” parameter is completely absent). Before that, everything worked properly. Could there be a problem due to accidental damage to the connections to the mat. board, although everything was checked and it seems to be connected?

SMARTRONIX

Hello. If you changed the paste on the laptop, then most likely it was disassembled, the cable may have gone from the touchpad to the board. check it.

Alena

Already checked. Reassembled, disconnected and attached. All to no avail, no signs of life and changes in principle

SMARTRONIX

Do the touchpad keys also not work?
Check if the cable is correctly inserted, sometimes it doesn’t reach a little or is skewed or inserted at all on the wrong side. Try to download the driver for the touchpad, on the website of the manufacturer of the laptop, for your model.

Alena

Also, disassembly was carried out twice, the first time the thermal paste was changed, when the touchpad was “not working”, and the second time, especially in order to connect everything. over, for the first time, the touchpad and the board were not touched in principle.

SMARTRONIX

Do the touchpad keys also not work?
Check if the cable is correctly inserted, sometimes it doesn’t reach a little or is skewed or inserted at all on the wrong side. Try to download the driver for the touchpad, on the website of the manufacturer of the laptop, for your model.

Alena

The buttons do not work the same, the drivers are all new. Let’s try to disassemble again.

SMARTRONIX

Could not turn it off in bios or with the FN key combination or in the corner of the touchpad itself, touch on / off

Alena

There is no combination / touch on, there is no touch off on the touchpad, and the key combination has already been checked. It’s unlikely that I bios into the bios account, I didn’t enter the bios specifically, as well as about the touchpad malfunction

SMARTRONIX

Go into bios, check the touchpad parameter, also check if it works there. Boot in safe mode, check there. Boot from the installation disk, if the installer does not work, then it looks like a hardware problem. It remains to hand over to the SC for diagnostics if the touchpad loop is visually connected and not damaged.

Alena

Hello again)
I encountered the following problem in the BIOS: there is no such parameter that is described by you (Internal Pointing Device).
Instead, there are such items: Wireless; SATA Controller Mode; Graphic Device; Power Beep Intel Virtual Flash; Hotkey mode

SMARTRONIX

From what is listed. there is no touchpad. If you yourself have changed something, then resetting bios to the factory settings and exit with saving the changes will help. Boot from the installation disk, if the touchpad does not work there, then there is clearly a hardware problem and you need to go to the SC.

Alena

Where can I find the reset?

SMARTRONIX

Enter bios (immediately after switching on, press F1 or F2 or DEL intermittently), go to the last Exit item and select Default, then SaveExit
The menu items may differ in the name but the meaning is the same. enter the BIOS, restore the default settings. save. exit

Bocai

Hello, help. the touchpad started typing one letter for some reason. disabled it and everything doesn’t print anymore. How to fix it. This happened after I pressed the BIOS entry button after rebooting the system. Windows reinstalled.

SMARTRONIX

Hello. How does the touchpad print at all?

Bocai

We heard that it happens that the mouse takes over part of the powers and spontaneously prints random letters. something like katarotitis.

SMARTRONIX

Do you have such a case?

Rasul. SMARTRONIX

If all usb ports are not working, when you connect the keyboard, mouse, flash drive. nothing is detected, then the problem may be hardware, bring it to the manufacturer’s SC.
Alternatively, boot from the installation disk or the LiveCD disk (in case of viruses), if in this case the touchpad and usb keyboard / mouse do not work, then something has burned out.

Hello. I have a touchpad that itself clicks and does not work.

SMARTRONIX

Hello, explain the problem in more detail, what it clicks and how it doesn’t work.

Odilshakh

Hello, my HP pavilion dv2700 laptop doesn’t work at all. The touchpad in the device’s dispatcher is not visible. Only usb.

SMARTRONIX

Hello, reset bios to factory settings, then go back to bios again, is there a background of the same color (blue) or UEFI (graphic)? Is the mouse cursor displayed there?

Kirill

Hello, I have a ASUS g752vs laptop, when the laptop is turned on, the gestures for scrolling, zooming in with fingers and imitation of the right button by touching with two fingers stop working on the laptop. Rebooting the laptop everything works fine, it’s worth turning it off and on, the situation repeats itself, restarting helps again. What advise? The touchpad buttons and one-finger touch to open folders work fine.

Hello. Try downloading the touchpad driver from the site and installing it again, maybe there is a utility that is installed separately for your model that tracks touch. You can try reinstalling windows, if not difficult and check. Perhaps such a program or equipment that after turning off / on stops responding to gestures. If the laptop under warranty and reinstalling windows does not help, you can seek help from the official Asus SC

SMARTRONIX

Hello, if you have a horizontal menu in bios, use the left / right buttons to go to the desired section, specify what it means is not available, are other sections available?

Napkin drained the sea
It helps if you tap on the touchpad. For a while
What about him ?

Svetlana

Hello!
What a wonderful forum you have! You helped me a lot. The touchpad began to fail. Scrolling works, but the cursor does not move. The laptop is old. 9 years. During this time, of course, he fell more than once. True, the last time it was a long time ago. I decided to follow your advice, starting with the simplest. And lo and behold! The banal wiping of the sensor with a damp cloth helped. Although visually he did not look dirty. Now everything is super! Many thanks!

Olga

Hello!
Scrolling stopped working on an HP laptop. I recounted all of the above. Maybe this is not a software failure, but a technical problem?

In general, the touchpad works crookedly, that is, for some games it’s not convenient!
Lenovo ideapad 320 laptop
there is a “FN” button, but it works with an accuracy of one revolution, that is, when I press it I can’t use the volume or brightness key, and when I drop it, everything easily functions
for example, take the game la2
there the skill is set to the F1 key, but when I press the F1 key I turn off the sound, but I don’t use the skill, but if I press the FNF1 key the skill works, in short it’s very inconvenient, it works the other way

Anton

I have a problem with the touchpad on the hp 820 on win10, sometimes it stops working after 10-60 minutes of work and the only way out is to reboot, what could be the reason?

SMARTRONIX

Anton, try downloading from the official site, for your laptop model, the touchpad driver and reinstall it.

Irina

I just LOVE you! I poked around the network for two hours and could not find the problem. Already climbed into the BIOS. The head began to crack at the seams. In your article, from the first minutes I found a solution to the problem. Low bow.

Hello, I really need your help, VivoBook 15_ASUS Laptop X507UF, the problem was with the touchpad, it stopped working after installing Windows 7. That is, just do it, it only works in the BIOS and everything, in Windows itself, doesn’t appear, it is displayed as an unknown device and therefore can be found on Windows firewood cannot do it, I tried to download a program from the Intel site for firewood on the touchpad, but for some reason it doesn’t work for me, it just says that the scan of the laptop failed. I tried to download firewood on the Internet, but everywhere zip files are downloaded without installation files, where I can’t get it all, I tried a bunch of programs for drivers, many of them seemed to download firewood and wrote that everything was ok, but in reality everything was as it was left, I’m in the despair and don’t know what to do, help, I beg!

SMARTRONIX

Hello. Download the SamDrivers driver collection, try installing the driver automatically.
Download another Windows7 image or install Windows 10. Run the update installation.

Camilla

Hello, on a laptop of wines 7 maximum the cursor stopped moving. The touchpad is on. Thanks in advance.

SMARTRONIX

Camilla, plug in the usb mouse, check the cursor movement. If it’s moving, check if the touchpad has been turned off, the touch button in the corner of the touchpad itself, or the FN key combination with the F key, which shows the touchpad.

Vitaliy

I turn on the laptop, after working for 3-5 minutes, the touchpad and mouse stop working. I reboot the laptop, the same picture is repeated again, it works for 3-5 minutes, then the touchpad and mouse do not work either. Tell me what to do? The laptop is already 8 years old, worth XP.

SMARTRONIX

Vitaly, your laptop may freeze, so the keyboard and mouse stop working. When this problem recurs, connect the USB keyboard or mouse to the laptop and check if the system freezes or not. If it freezes, then the cause may be overheating (cleaning the laptop from dust is required) or it is a failure of the operating system (reinstall windows)
