Laptop Does Not Get Out Of Sleep Windows 10

Windows 10 users are faced with the fact that the laptop does not wake up from sleep mode. And this did not happen earlier on the installed other OS. Windows 7 and 8.1

Symptoms: after going into sleep mode, no pressing the buttons on the keyboard or mouse will wake the laptop from sleep or hibernation. Even if the fans start to work, the monitor does not turn on.

The problem is the card drivers and was observed on laptop models:

  • HP Envy Series
  • HP Pavilion
  • HP TouchSmart
  • Samsung with Nvidia or ATI cards
  • Lenovo Thinkpad
  • Acer aspire

Solution 1: check for the latest drivers for the card

  • Click on the button Start right-click and select “Computer management” (or click Windowsx)
  • We are interested in the section device Manager
  • Open section “adapters”
  • Right click on the adapter ATI or nVidia, then select “Update driver”
  • Choose an option “Automatic search for updated drivers “

Windows will automatically find and install the latest driver for your card.

  • After the installation is completed, restart the computer.

Solution 2: restore the card driver from a previous version of Windows

The method is suitable if you upgraded to Windows 10 from an older version of Windows and did not delete the system folder of a previous version of the operating system, which is usually called Windows.old

We force Windows 10 to install the previous version of the drivers from Windows that was previously installed on the PC.

  • Click on the button Start right click and select “Computer management”
  • On the left, select the section device Manager
  • Open section “adapters”
  • Right click on the adapter ATI or nVidia, then select “Update driver”
  • Select “Search for drivers on this computer
  • Enter path FROM:\ in the driver search window and click Further

The computer will search for graphic drivers in a previous version of Windows and automatically install it into the system.

  • Reboot your computer.

Solution 3: rollback to the previous version of the driver

(if there was one before)

  • Open device Manager
  • Right click on the adapter ATI or nVidia and select The properties
  • Go to bookmark Driver and select “Roll back”
  • Reboot your computer.
