You can reset the password code by restoring the device.

  1. Connect your device to the computer you normally sync with and open iTunes.
    Note. If iTunes is prompted for a password, try the procedure on another computer that you’ve synced with. Or skip to the “If your device has never synced with iTunes” section below.
  2. Right-click the device in the left column and select Back up.
  3. When the backup is complete, select the command Reestablish.
  4. When complete, restore from the most recent backup.

  1. Disconnect the USB cable from the device, but leave the other end of the cable connected to the computer’s USB port.
  2. Turn off the device: press and hold the Sleep / Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide it. Wait for the device to turn off.
  3. While holding down the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device. The device should turn on.
  4. Keep the Home key pressed until the “Connect to iTunes” message appears. When the following screen appears, release the Home button.
  5. A warning should appear in iTunes that the device was detected in recovery mode. Click OK, and then click Restore to restore the device.
