Iphone 7 Charges From Wireless Charging

Find out what to do if the battery is not charging, charging slowly, or a warning is displayed.

Power connection

If you are having trouble wirelessly charging your iPhone 8 or later, try charging the device first with the USB adapter and cable that came with it. If it charges in this way, read the article on wireless charging. If you use a third-party accessory, make sure it is certified by Apple.

To charge your device, follow these steps:

  1. Connect the supplied USB cable to the device.
  2. Connect the cable to one of the following power sources.

Wall power outlet

Plug the USB charging cable into the USB power adapter, and then plug the adapter into a power outlet.

A computer

Connect the charging cable to a USB 2.0 or 3.0 port on a computer that is not in sleep mode. Do not use USB ports on the keyboard.

Accessory for charging

Connect the cable to an external powered USB hub, dock, or other Apple-certified accessory.

When the device is charging, a lightning bolt icon is displayed next to the battery icon in the status bar or a large battery icon on the lock screen.

The device charges slowly or does not charge at all

Follow these steps, retrying after each one.

The device stops charging after reaching the threshold of 80%

The iPhone may get a little warm while charging. To increase battery life, the operating system can stop charging at 80% if the battery is overheated. Charging the iPhone will continue when its temperature decreases. Try moving your iPhone and charger to a cooler place.

IOS 13 uses an optimized battery charging feature to reduce battery wear by reducing the time it takes to fully charge the iPhone. The iPhone has a built-in machine learning feature that lets you define your daily charging schedule. This feature prevents the iPhone from charging more than 80% until you need it. 2 This charging method allows you to reduce battery wear and increase its service life. The Optimized Charging function is activated only when the iPhone determines that the charger will be connected for a long period of time.
