Iphone 6 Charge Indicator Yellow

The Smart Battery Case protects and charges the iPhone. Learn how to use your Smart Battery Case.

Charging Smart Battery Case

Before using the Smart Battery Case, update iOS to the latest version on iPhone. Before using the Smart Battery Case, make sure that it is charged.

  1. Connect one end of the Lightning to USB cable that came with the iPhone to the Lightning connector in the case.
  2. Plug the other end of the cable into Apple’s USB power adapter, and plug the adapter into an electrical outlet. For fast charging, use at least 18 Watt Apple USB-C power adapter.
  3. When the cover is charging, the yellow status indicator is on, and when it is fully charged, it is green.

Putting on and removing the cover

To put on the case, pull off the top edge and insert the iPhone inside. When the iPhone is in a charged Smart Battery Case, it charges automatically.

To remove the case, pull the top edge and slide the iPhone up. Move the phone towards the top edge, not toward you, otherwise the connector will be damaged.

Charge level check

When the iPhone is in the case, the charging status is displayed on the lock screen. The charging status is also displayed when the case is connected to the power source and disconnected from it. If you have already connected the iPhone to the case, you can see the charging status in the Notification Center on the iPhone.

Follow these steps. Try to charge the case after each of them.

  1. Disconnect the Lightning-USB cable from the power source, and then reconnect it to it.
  2. If the iPhone is in a case, remove the case. Then try charging the iPhone and case separately.
  3. If your iPhone has a tape, sticker, or label, remove it.
  4. Replace cover.

If you are charging the Smart Battery Case for iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro or iPhone 11 Pro Max, iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max or iPhone XR using the Qi wireless charging plate, make sure there is nothing between the case and the plate.
