Huawei P20 Lite Hidden Features

Manufacturers always customize their interfaces, and with EMUI you can easily see the changes from the Chinese manufacturer. The user interface offers an experience that is different from the original Android. In this article, we will consider some functions that you should know to maximize the capabilities of your smartphone, be it Huawei P10, Mate 10 Pro or Honor View 10, and these are just some of the devices from the ever-growing Huawei / Honor family.

Important: There may be slight differences between Honor and Huawei devices.

How to configure the interface?

One of the advantages of EMUI is, without a doubt, the level of customization. Use your own photo as a background, collect applications in a separate tray, configure physical or virtual keys, change the order of applications on the screens so that the interface matches your tastes and needs, it is enough to follow just a few steps.

Change Background: Settings. Display. Wallpaper. Set Wallpaper. Gallery / Other.

Application Tray: Settings. Display. Home screen style. Application tray.

Choose a way to navigate the system: Settings. Smart Assistant. System Navigation. Here you can tell your device how to activate a single navigation key to access the home screen, additional screen and the last steps, whether to activate the virtual navigation panel (by setting the key combination) or select the quick menu.

Change Quick Settings: Lower the drop-down menu and click on the pencil icon.

Adapt your smartphone to your needs.

Changing layouts and arranging applications: press and hold in the free space of the home screen, then tap “Settings”. In this section, you can reorganize your applications even by shaking your phone to shuffle shortcuts.

Resizing interface elements: Settings. Display. View Mode.

Screen resolution: Settings. Display. Screen Resolution.

Screen brightness: Settings. Display. Brightness.

Speeding up device interaction

Not all options offered by the device are useful. EMUI offers some features that we recommend using, because they allow you to optimize the interaction with your phone, reducing the number of gestures or transitions to a particular function.

Search for files faster: Swipe the screen from the main screen, you will see a search bar.

Turn on voice commands: Settings. Intelligent Help. Voice control to answer or reject a call using voice.

Calling a contact from the screen: press and hold the volume key, say the name of the contact after a beep.

Wake up Google Assistant: press and hold the home button, use a voice command (do not forget to activate the function from the Google application).

Use two WhatsApp / Facebook accounts: Settings. Applications and Notifications. Similar applications.

Enable face recognition unlock: Settings. Security Privacy. Unlock Face.

Turn on one-handed operation: Settings. Intelligent help. User interface. Mini-screen.

Take a screenshot: Instead of the classic keyboard shortcut Volume Down Power, tap the screen a few times.

Security

Locking your device with a PIN, password, gesture sequence, fingerprint scanner or face recognition will help protect your data. And if you want to hide anything from prying eyes, you will find four specialized functions for this task!

Set one or more fingerprints: Settings. Security and Privacy. Fingerprint Scanner.

Create personal space on your smartphone by enabling the function of the same name: Settings. Security Privacy. PrivateSpace.

Encryption of photos, audio, and other files: Settings. Security and Privacy. Secure Files. Enable.

Block access to some applications: Settings. Security and Privacy. Application Lock.

Via Private Space you can contain two “worlds” on one device!

Become a real camera master

This is one of the components that users use most often, the camera is full of surprises, especially now, when artificial intelligence captures smartphones. Introduced on the Mate 10 Pro and View 10 with the Kirin 970 NPU, AI helps optimize the shooting experience by choosing the best settings and modes, depending on your needs.

Turn on Pro mode: open the camera application. Swipe from left to right and click “Pro Photo” or “Pro”.

Take a screenshot: double-click the volume down.

Quick view photo gallery: open a photo in the Gallery, perform a pinch gesture to zoom out and scroll through other pictures.

Select multiple photos at once: open the folder, press and hold the photo you want to select for a few seconds, then swipe to select other pictures.

Create a bokeh effect: open the camera and click on the icon simulating the aperture of the lens; Now click on the object you want to see in focus, shoot.

Adjust the effect of Beauty: click the “Portrait” icon and slide your finger over the Beauty level indicator.

Battery

Unfortunately, there are no miracles here. You cannot get the battery of your smartphone for more than two days. However, you can monitor and manage battery consumption with special settings. If your smartphone supports this technology, you can use fast charging to get the necessary energy in a short time.

Turn on power saving mode. To restrict applications in the background, disable automatic email synchronization and system sounds.

Select power saving mode: for emergencies, this mode allows you to limit the use of applications, which will significantly limit the capabilities of the user.

Understand what the battery consumes: Settings. Battery. Battery usage.

Optimize power consumption: Settings. Battery. Optimization, then go to the tips that you would like to put into practice.
