Where to find and download themes for Xiaomi Redmi 8
The standard MIUI design theme on the Redmi 8 is concise, minimalist and beautiful, it allows you to use your phone for months and years without paying serious attention, focusing the user on what they do, not on how it looks.
But if you want to update the appearance of the Redmi 8, MIUI has a built-in application that gives you access to a worldwide repository where you can find not only themes, but also wallpapers, and in some regions even ringtones and fonts to change the appearance of the smartphone.
I highly recommend using this source, all the content is verified and does not carry any potential threat to the phone owner, both from the side of virus programs and functionality.
Plus, to use themes downloaded from third-party sites, you may need ROOT access, which is a potential vulnerability to data stored in Redmi memory.
Start the settings of your smartphone, find in the general list the line “Themes”, enter it. You’re on the main screen, at the bottom you’ll see the navigation, in my case, if you select the region of Russia, there are 3 tabs, including personal account, however, if you select the region of India, you will have additional customization options: the ability to change the system font or install a new ringtone. For example, I will choose the section “HD themes”, inside which I will choose the first theme “To the future”. If it’s ok, click on the “Free” button to start the download. Once it has finished downloading, the “Apply” button will appear, press it, and your Redmi 8 will have a new theme. Game mode on Xiaomi (Redmi), how to enable and configure it
On Xiaomi (Redmi) smartphones running MIUI 11 and MIUI 12 you will find a gaming mode.
Game mode. a special mode to control the work of the processor and video chip with its own settings for energy consumption and heat generation.
In other words, the mode on Xiaomi shifts the CPU and video chip frequency limits higher than in normal use, and allows more heat to the chips to the point where it starts to trot (drop in frequency).
To get to the settings launch the system app “Security”. At the bottom, where the little icons are, look for “Game acceleration.”. You’ll find yourself in your own utility menu, where you see all the installed games on your Xiaomi, and where it’s possible to run them from. In the upper right corner, click on the stylized “Gear” icon to access additional features. In addition to more aggressive CPU and video chip control, the game mode enabled on the Xiaomi gives you some very useful, but not obvious, features that you can set up separately.
Carefully examine the additional features, pay attention to the menu “Do Not Disturb”. Imagine you’re in the heat of battle and someone calls you. In normal mode, you will have service icons on top of the game to accept and reset the incoming call, which in all likelihood will result in a loss. But you can set up so that the icons don’t appear, or you can take the call and it works immediately through your speakerphone so you can continue playing. At the very end of the list is the “Advanced Settings” section, which, as experienced gamers say, is one of the most important for setting up Xiaomi for gaming.
Once you enter it, you will be able to change the sensitivity to gestures and presses in the game, as well as adjust the area on the screen, which responds to clicks. In addition, you can change the contrast and improve the detail of the image in the game, depending on your needs and the light around you. In this way, without resorting to prohibited tricks or evil hacks, you will gain a legal advantage over your opponent, which will lead you to victory and good mood.
NFC. what is it in the phone Xiaomi
Contactless payment with Xiaomi phone is realized by NFC. This sensor is located in the smartphone case on the motherboard. The sensor works on the principle of induction of a magnetic field.
If the two chips are close enough, they can transmit any data to each other without directly touching. This is how you pay for your purchases: an NFC chip in your smartphone contacts a similar one in the terminal, they exchange data and the payment is made.
NFC cannot be removed, changed or installed if it is missing. That’s why before you set up contactless payment you need to make sure that your smartphone has an NFC sensor. If it’s not there, then all the information will be useless. You will have to change the entire gadget. Here are a few ways to determine if NFC is present:
- Open Xiaomi settings, go to “Connection and sharing” and try to find the “NFC” section. If it’s not there, you won’t be able to use contactless payment;
- look at the specs of your smartphone model, it says there is NFC;
- download the app NFC Check from the official store of Google Play applications, it will easily determine the presence of the NFC chip.
How to merge internal and external memory on Xiaomi?
Owners of Xiaomi phones can store data both in the internal memory of the device and on the SD-card they install. In case you need to increase the amount of internal storage, it is possible to combine the phone memory and SD-card Xiaomi.
Please note that if you do so, all information will be permanently deleted from the external drive. It is also recommended to install a microSD from a reliable manufacturer, because a cheap version can quickly fail. Due to the fact that when combining memory on Xiaomi it becomes part of the RAM, then your mobile device can become a “brick”. It follows that it is forbidden to remove the memory card from the phone in order not to harm the system partition.

The phone uses the most energy for the display, of course, if you use the phone in an active way, t.е. looking at something, reading. The screen is the most voracious device, and the higher the brightness, the more power it needs to work.
To find out how long the display on Xiaomi, just open the general settings, find the menu item “Power and performance. You will get to a menu with statistics on which hardware item, or program, has spent the most battery power to work since the last charge.
It’s important to understand here that every time you plug your Xiaomi in to charge, this statistic is reset, so the most accurate value will be at the end of the day, when battery power is coming to an end.
If you remember to look at it, you’ll understand what’s wasting the most energy, and maybe you can optimize your phone‘s use so that next time it lasts longer in battery mode.
In the list of statistics you need to find the item “Screen”. and click on it, for more information. The only way to reduce the screen‘s power consumption is to reduce its brightness, but to do that you’ll have to disable and automatically adjust the brightness to ambient light level, which is enabled by default.
You can do this by bringing up the control panel, or the notification bar, depending on the version of MIUI on Xiaomi, then find the icon with a large letter “A” and disable it. After that reduce the brightness to an acceptable level. Go back to
Required steps before use
Although the memory card is ready to use after installation, it is recommended that it be formatted before use. Use the following instructions for the operation:
- Open the Android settings.
- Go to “Storage” section.
- Select the SD card to use.
- Press the “Format” button and confirm the action.
Please note that formatting the card erases all data. Therefore do not fill up the external drive before using it.
Making calls
If you have not previously set the default settings for SIM cards, section “SIM cards and mobile networks”, then you will see the following window when entering contacts and dialing a subscriber:
In order for such a window not to be displayed, set the default SIM, or vice versa, remove (at the beginning of the article “Which card to put where?”).
If you are in the dialer, in order to make a call with a particular SIM, then at the bottom of the screen there is a split call button with the choice of operator.
