How to Transfer From Android to Computer
The acquisition of a new iPhone is a joyful event. Most users keep a phone book on their smartphone and, over time, accumulate a large number of contacts there. In this article, we will consider two ways at once how to transfer contacts from an Android smartphone to a computer.
Transfer contacts from Android to a computer using export
The easiest way to transfer contacts from an Android smartphone to a computer is to transfer using the export of contacts from the Contacts application. By exporting contacts in this way you will receive a file in vcf format, which can then be imported into any application for working with contacts, both on another phone and on a computer.
Exporting contacts is easy enough. First you need to run the Contacts application on your Android phone. After that, open the context menu in this application (this is done using the on-screen or touch keys below the screen).
After that, select the “Import / Export” item in the menu that appears.
As a result, a menu appears with several options for transferring contacts. Here you need to select the option “Export to VCF file”. In some cases, this option may be called “Export to internal memory” or “Export to SD card”.
After that, the Contacts application will transfer all contacts from its database to a file with the vcf extension, which will be saved in the internal memory or on the SD memory card, depending on which transfer option you have chosen.
Next you need to copy this vcf file to your computer. This can be done in any way convenient for you. For example, you can connect Android to a computer using a USB cable and just copy this file like any other, or you can send the file by mail or upload to the cloud storage.
In the future, you can use the contacts from the vcf file as it suits you. You can import a vcf file into a mail program (for example, Outlook or Mozilla Thunderbird), another phone, or a mail service.
Transfer contacts from Android to a computer using Google
You can also transfer contacts from Android to a computer using the Google Contacts service. In order for this transfer method to work, you need to have the contacts on Android synchronized with your Google account.
In order to make sure that your contacts are synchronized, go to Android Settings and open the “Accounts. Google” section. In this section of the settings there will be a list of everything that is synchronized with your Google account. Find the “Contacts” item there and make sure that it is turned on.
If the contacts synchronize normally, then you can proceed to transfer them. To do this, use your browser to go to the Google Contacts service, which is available at https://contacts.Google.com, open the section there and select the Export item.
After that, you will be asked to open the old version of the Google Contacts interface. Agree, and wait for the old interface to load. In the old interface, you need to click on the “” button and select “Export” in the menu that appears.

After selecting the contacts and format, you just need to click on the “Export” button and download the resulting file. In the future, using this file, contacts can be transferred to another phone or to another program.

In Android, data is stored in a similar way as on a computer. They are stored in folders in the form of files, that is, it is very similar to the usual system of organizing data in personal computers.
This makes it quite easy to transfer files from Android to a computer, in other words, without much effort to transfer or copy files from a smartphone or tablet to a computer, both using the Internet and without it.
Below we will talk about how to transfer files from Android to a computer or vice versa without the Internet.
If you have a Mac, then there you will need to install a special program to transfer data from Android. I describe the situation using a Windows computer as an example.
If the device with Android is turned off, then in this state it will NOT work to transfer files to the computer.
First, find the charger from your smartphone (device) on Android.
How to connect Android to a computer
To transfer data recorded in Android from Android to a computer, you need to connect Android to the computer using the wire from the smartphone’s charger.

The end of the wire that connects to the electrical outlet must be disconnected from the plug. After pulling it out, you can see the USB connector. So, we had a wire in our hands, which has connectors for connection at both ends:
- On one side is a USB connector for connecting to a computer,
- On the other hand, a micro-USB connector for connecting to Android.

The disconnected end with the USB connector must be connected to the USB port of the computer. The other end with a micro-USB connector must be connected to Android (Fig. 1.1). Then a small icon will appear on the Android screen in the upper left corner, which indicates that Android is connected to the computer (Fig. 2).

How to charge Android from a computer
While Android is connected via a wire from the charger to the computer as described above, it will also be charged from the computer.
This does not help transfer files from Android to computer. But you just need to know and remember. If you connect Android by wire from the charger to the computer, then Android will charge its battery from the computer to which it is connected.
This happens more slowly than when charging from a 220V network, but, nevertheless, the result (a fully charged smartphone) will be achieved. However, with this method of recharging there is a danger of “picking up” viruses from a computer to a smartphone.
How to take a screenshot on Android 4.2.2
We will take a screenshot of the Android main screen to fix (remember) this picture with the icon of connecting Android to the PC in order to later transfer this image to the computer. And thus we will show how this can be done using the cable from the Android charger.
To take a screenshot on Android 4.2 2, you should simultaneously press the Power button and the Main button. In this case, a clicking sound will be heard, as if the shutter of the camera had clicked. This indicates that a screenshot has been taken.
The first connection of Android to a computer

When the driver installation warning window closes, you need to open Explorer, which is located in the lower left corner, next to the Start button.

In Explorer, you can see our Android device. In this case, it is called the Galaxy Grand (Fig. 5).

We click on the icon of this device “Galaxy Grand” (1 in Fig. 5). We will see in the right part of the Explorer window an image of a disk device (Fig. 6), next to which is the inscription “Phone”, that is, “Phone”.

In fact, although this is a phone (smartphone), Explorer sees it as an external hard drive or as a USB flash drive, that is, it does not see the phone itself (smartphone), but the data that is recorded on it. This allows us to transfer data from Android to a computer.
Double-clicking on the inscription “Phone” (Fig. 6) allows you to see the folders that are located in the memory of our Android (Fig. 7).

Among them we find the “Pictures” folder and double-click on it with the left mouse button.
The “Pictures” window will open (Fig. 8), in which we will see the “Screenshots” folder (“Screenshots,” that is, the screenshots of Android that were made on it).

Thus, we are slowly “getting close” to the place in Android’s memory where it stores all the screenshots.
After double-clicking on the “Screenshots” folder, we will see a screenshot of the Android screen taken after connecting Android to the computer.

The name of the screenshot is automatically created by Android. This is “Screenshot_2016-04-10-17-43-36” (Fig. 9). This name means that the screenshot was created in Android on April 10, 2016 at 17 hours 43 minutes 36 seconds. Thus, it is possible to identify and distinguish from each other numerous screenshots that can be created in Android.
Drag this file “Screenshot_2016-04-10-17-43-36”, for example, onto the PC’s desktop into the “New folder” folder (Fig. 10). To do this, make 2 windows on the computer screen:
- One window with the Android folder,
- The second window. With a folder on the computer.
Then you need to hook the file with the left mouse button and drag it from the Android window to the window on the computer, and then release the left mouse button.

And thus, this file from Android will be copied from the Android memory to the computer’s desktop in a folder with the name “New Folder” (Fig. 11):

Everything, the problem is solved, the file from Android is transferred to the computer. Now this file is on the PC, while a moment ago it was still on Android and seemed inaccessible to us on the computer.
Data of interest that may need to be transferred from Android to a computer can be located not only in the “Pictures” folder of Android, but also in other Android folders (Fig. 7).
What folders from Android can be seen on the computer
For example, on Android you can see the following folders:

- Screenshots are stored in the Pictures folder on Android
- In the folder “DCIM” can be stored photos ands shot using Android,
- In the “Download” folder. All files that have been downloaded to Android, for example, from the Internet,
- In the “Movis” folder. Movies and clips for viewing on Android,
- In the “Music” folder. Files for listening on Android, for example, favorite music,
- Also, the data we are interested in can be stored in other folders of Android.
It is necessary to search for files on Android and find it for subsequent transfer to the folders of the personal computer by the usual copy (or drag and drop) method from one folder (from the Android folder) to another folder (into the computer folder).
Thus, transferring data from Android to PC turns into the usual and familiar procedure of copying data from one folder to another folder.
How to delete files in Android
After transferring (copying) data from Android to a PC, you can (but not necessarily!) Delete this data from the Android memory. After all, as a rule, portable gadgets do not have much free space in memory. And if we transferred the data from Android to the PC (of course, it would be nice to check before deleting to make sure that the data is really transferred to the PC), then this data can be deleted from the Android folders.
Deleting files and folders from Android is done in the same way as deleting folders or files on a PC: right-click on the folder or file icon and select “Delete” from the menu (Fig. 13).

How to disconnect Android from computer
Well, finally, you can disconnect Android from a PC as follows:
- First, disconnect the connector of the wire connecting Android and PC from Android,
- And only then disconnect the connector from the USB port of the personal computer.
You need to disconnect the wire only when the data is no longer being pumped (not copied) from Android to the PC. Disconnecting the wire during data transfer can damage the PC or Android file system.
How to transfer files from a computer to Android
The reverse transfer of data from a computer to Android is done in the same way as described above.
You only need to select the transferred files on the computer, and then they need to be copied (dragged) to the Android folders. That is, this transfer system works in both directions.

XP is a good system. It should not oppose file transfer. So, the problem is on Android, I can assume. Something is wrong with the files that are transferred to the computer. Hello. Perhaps you are downloading from one place in Android, and downloading to another place. For example, you download from an additional memory module, and download it into the Android main memory. Then your problem may mean that the additional memory module does not work correctly.
