Because of what can play only one earphone

The fact that the Xiaomi or Redmi AirDots do not pair with each other does not necessarily indicate a malfunction headset. The phenomenon may be due to the fact that the headphone works in mono mode, independent of the second. This feature can be used intentionally, which is very convenient in certain cases, but most often the owners of Xiaomi AirDots and Redmi AirDots face the problem of lack of synchronization between the right and left dome, that is, they do not detect each other, and therefore do not synchronize with each other.

Unless it’s a malfunction of the Xiaomi AirDots headset, clogged speaker, misplaced battery, Bluetooth capsule, etc. д., and one of the headphones does not work, it may simply be discharged or connected to the device incorrectly. Incorrect smartphone settings are also often the cause of desynchronization.

Why the headphones are out of sync and why do a reset?

If you don’t need this information, you can go straight to the solutions (later in this article).

Most TWS headphones work in the following way: there is a main headphone, the master (depending on the model, can be left or right) and there is a second headphone, the slave. When we take the headphones out of the case, the headphones sync with each other via Bluetooth. The second headphone (which is the slave) is connected to the main (master) headphone. After that, the main headphone is connected to the phone, computer, etc. д. There are models of headphones where the right earpiece can be the main one as well as the left one.

Mismatching very often occurs when the headphones are not properly connected. When we are connected to the phone, or other device is not the main headphone, but the slave. For example, when we want to use only one earphone. After that, the headphones can not connect to each other and only one works. And on the device, the list of Bluetooth devices can display two headphones. Sometimes the name may contain a letter that indicates the right and left earpiece (e.g. “name_R”, “name_L”). Screenshot for example (you may have a different situation) :

After that, you can connect one earphone, but not both together. precisely, you can connect both, but one will play. Which of course does not suit us.

It happens that the desynchronization of TWS headphones occurs due to some failure when we do not put the headphones in the charging box after use, when we use one headphone, or after a complete discharge. The desync problem is usually not related to the device. Whether it is a Windows computer, Android phone, or iPhone.

Resetting TWS headphones allows you to re-sync. We remove them on the devices to which we connected, do a reset, turn them on, and the headphones sync with each other and start working together. This usually solves all problems with sync and pairing. You can also do this if the earphone just fell off, the light is off, and the button is unresponsive.

How do I sync the earmolds with each other?

It is not uncommon to receive sound from only one earphone after connecting the Eardots. This can occur because the Xiaomi device did not have time to sync with each other. As a result, only one of them was connected via Bluetooth. In this situation you need to reconnect them by resetting. You must also delete the model name from the list of Bluetooth-connected devices. To do this, go back to the settings window and look for AirDots in the list.

After that press the arrow to the model name. In the next window, select “Delete”.

In some phones next to each connected device is a cross, pressing on which removes the device from the list of connected devices. To reset the settings on the headphones, you need to take both in your hands and press the button on them for 45 seconds. During this time, the indicators on the buttons should glow red. After that they should blink white about 10 times.

When you have reset the settings, repeat the instructions for connecting them from the first section of this article. Thus you will be able to connect both headphones Xiaomi AirDots to your smartphone or laptop with Bluetooth. Mismatched earmolds can occur because they’ve been sitting on a shelf or in a desk drawer outside the charging case for a long time. This happens even with headphones that were previously paired with the phone and worked both in sync. So it is important not to leave them out of the case.

The principle of connection of different models is almost the same.
