How to Disable Soap Opera Effect on 2018 Samsung TVs

Open advanced settings. Like the sliders for adjusting color and brightness, the settings for disabling Auto Motion Plus are found in the Image Settings menu under the Advanced Settings section.

Go to the Auto Motion Plus menu. To turn off the soap opera effect, turn off or adjust the Auto Motion Plus function. The default is Auto, so either turn it off (to turn it off completely) or adjust the blur and shake reduction to your liking using the sliders in the menu below.

Reduce blur and reduce blur. If you chose the custom Auto Motion Plus setting, you start with anti-blur and anti-shake.

Blur reduction is designed to reduce the blur that occurs when fast moving objects move across the screen at a low frame rate, increase the frame rate by estimating what image will be between two frames of content, and add intermediate frames. This is the biggest breaker in the soap opera effect, so bring that slider back first.

Judder Reduction. another intruder. It is designed to reduce the distortion that can occur when displaying 24Hz content (such as a movie) on higher frame rate displays. This results in a slight stutter, which Judder Reduction seeks to correct. As with reducing blur, if you still see the soap opera effect, reduce it or turn it off.

Disable LED Clear Motion. The latest trick of TV makers to “fix” your picture. This is a backlight flicker control. By enabling this function, you will greatly reduce the overall brightness of the display by flashing it on and off. a method designed to simulate a higher frame rate. If in doubt, it can be safely disabled.

We have 2 of these TVs. Both had a problem at first where we first needed to do a reset (hold the power button for x seconds) so that it reconnects after we turned it off.

Lately, they both just won’t connect to Wi-Fi.

We have Ubiquiti hardware, every room has a hotspot. But not long ago there was an update on the ubiquiti side. We have updated our hardware to the latest firmware. And after that, our Samsung TVs will no longer connect to Wi-Fi. Only Samsung TVs have problems. All other equipment, more than 150 devices in 5 different networks (SSID), works without problems.

We tried absolutely everything, different SSDs, open SSDs, strictly 2.4 GHz, turning off all other SSDs, turning off all other access points.

They just won’t connect. I’m assuming Samsung has outdated hardware or software / protocol installed in these cheaper TVs. And now it’s got to the point where it’s EOL (end of life).
