How to reset Samsung Smart TVs

In rare cases, we may need to reset the LCD TV settings to the factory settings or “Default” settings. This can be done by resetting with the remote control.

Basically, on all modern Samsung TVs, the reset is the same. The only thing that may be different is some of the names of the menu settings.

Consider the process of resetting the settings to factory settings using the example of a Samsung TV from the D series.

Using the remote control, go to the TV section. To do this, press the “EXIT” key on the remote control. We hold it for up to 7-10 seconds.

After holding down the key, a new window will appear. See the photo below.

The window that opens offers the opportunity to restore all default settings, both the general TV menu and the Smart TV and Smart Hub settings. To do this, you just need to click and confirm the “OK” button.

In some Samsung F, H series models, this key does not work. Therefore, owners of LCD TVs of this series, in order to reset the settings to the factory settings, will need to do the following manipulations.

It is necessary to press the “MENU” button on the Samsung TV remote control and go to the “Support” section of the menu.

After that, select the subsection of the menu “Self-diagnosis”.

Next, you need to select the “Reset” menu item. You will be required to enter a security PIN. The default is 0000. A reset warning window will appear. We agree with him and press the screen key “Yes”.

There is a similar option on D series TVs.

We also press the “MENU” button on the remote control. Then go to the “System” section of the menu. Go to the “Plug Play” subsection.

Press the “OK” button. In the window that appears, enter the security PIN. Settings will automatically reset to factory defaults.

After that, it will be possible to re-configure the TV from setting the time, country, setting up TV channels, video, audio and others.

The next step for a factory reset is to go to Smart Hub. Press the “Smart” button on the remote control.

Next, select the settings section by pressing the blue key on the remote control. See the photo below.

Next, in the window that appears, select the “Reset” section. Look at the image above. this section is the second in the list. Again, enter the default password 0000. After that, the remaining settings will be reset.

Smart TV will reboot. After restarting, you can see that all the widgets that you previously installed will be removed.

If you now try to log in under the “Develop” account, we will see a window that will indicate that the account will need to be created anew. In this case, you will need to re-accept the terms of the service agreement.

After that, the services will be updated and the services and widgets will be installed.

Factory reset using Smart Hub

  • In the settings window that opens, select the “Reset” section.
  • In the same way as in the methods above, enter the PIN code by default. it’s four zeros.
  • After confirming your actions by clicking the “Ok” section, the settings will be automatically reset and the TV will reboot.

After this procedure, all widgets will be deleted, the settings will be updated, and the account will have to be created anew.

We hope you were helped by one of our suggested options to return your Samsung TV to factory settings.

Engineering (system) reset of all settings in Samsung TVs.

Consider a solution to the problem when resetting the installed settings in the TV to factory settings does not help. That is, after a reset, some settings remain in place.

In this case, the so-called engineering or system reset can help us. It is done the same on different Samsung TV models.

There are two options for this reset. Let’s get to know them.

Turn off the TV with the remote control. The TV will only be plugged in. When the TV is turned off, you will need to quickly and consistently press the following buttons on the remote control.

After dialing a combination of these buttons, the TV turns on and the following menu appears on the screen, as in the image below.

Here we select the first menu item “Option”. Press the “Enter” button on the remote control.

Let’s move on to the next window. In it we are interested in the “Factory Reset” subsection. This is the top line. See image below.

Press the “Enter” button on the remote control twice. All previously set TV settings will be completely reset.

Then the TV will start after such a reset from scratch, with the installation of the general initial settings. the menu language, country network settings, etc.

Next, you will need to configure the channels and so on. Detailed lessons on such a TV setup are available on the network.

When accessing the Smart TV menu, we will make sure that all installed settings, widgets have disappeared. Have to accept the service agreement again.

Next, you will need to restore Samsung and Smart TV accounts.

You will also have to go through the standard procedures for all updates, create a Develop account. A lesson on creating an account also exists on the net.

Recall that before performing such a system reset, try first performing a standard factory reset. If this does not help, then you can turn to this option.

If necessary, you can consult the Samsung helpers service center by leaving a request on the website. Signs and Causes of Software Failures

There are a number of reasons that can lead to software glitches. The first of them is changing an outdated firmware version to a new one. This usually indicates the unsatisfactory quality of the installed software. In this case, it is enough to update the version to the latest one when it appears. But sometimes, when downloading, the connection is broken, or the user installs the wrong firmware from third-party developers. The result of such actions is a system failure.

A drop in voltage is the next reason why the TV receiver does not work or is not functioning properly. This happens if the equipment is not connected to a voltage stabilizer or at least to a surge protector. Then software failures are the least consequence of a surge in electricity, in the worst case, the TV receiver can burn out.

Children’s pranks, as well as incorrect user actions are another likely cause of system failures that cannot be fixed. In some cases, resetting the remote control, carried out by removing the batteries, and then reconfiguring the TV receiver, helps. But often the parameters of the equipment are so knocked down that the problems can be eliminated only by restarting the TV to the factory settings.

Improper installation of applications or loading widgets from unverified sources is the next reason that the TV is frozen or shows other signs of unstable operation.

How to Factory Reset Samsung Smart TV Fix it Now

As a result of these and other reasons, the TV panel works so badly that the only solution to the problem is to reboot it or, in other words, reset it to factory settings. This is an extreme measure, and after it you will need to re-configure the Smart TV receiver for yourself: log in, search and sort channels, activate pre-installed and install additional applications, and so on.

If the self-diagnosis function is not available or does not produce results, then the problem is not at the hardware level, and in order to solve the problem, you should restart the Samsung Smart TV.
