How to copy contacts to a SIM card

Before copying, see the version of Android on your device.

If the device is Android 9

Open the Contacts app.

Press “Options”, it may look like three dots in the upper right or in the center.

Select Contact Management.

Select “Import / Export Contacts.”

Select “Export.”

Select the SIM card you want to save contacts to.

Select the contacts you want to copy, or check all. Click Finish.

Click “Yes” to confirm. Only the name and phone number are copied, the rest of the contact fields (email, photo, etc.) are not copied. This is a limitation of the SIM card.

Contacts are copied to the SIM card. Click “Back”.

If the device is Android 8, 7, 6, 5

Open the Contacts app.

Press the Options button (it may look like three dots in the upper right corner).

Select Contact Management. If there is no such item, select “Settings”.

Select “Contacts”. If there is no such item, proceed to the next step.

Select “Import / Export Contacts.” If there is no such item, return to item No. 1 and select “Contacts”, and not “Phone”.

Select “Export.”

Select “SIM”.

Click “Yes” to confirm. Only the name and phone number are copied, the rest of the contact fields (email, photo, etc.) are not copied. This is a limitation of the SIM card.

Select the contacts you want to copy and click Finish.

Contacts are copied to the SIM card.

If the device is Android 4

Open the Contacts app.

Click “Menu” or “Options” (may look like three dots) in the upper right corner.

Select “Import / Export”. If there is no such item, select “Settings”, and then “Import / Export”.

Select Export to SIM Card.

Select the contacts you want to copy and click Finish.

Click “Yes” to confirm. Only the name and phone number are copied, the rest of the contact fields (email, photo, etc.) are not copied. This is a limitation of the SIM card.

Contacts are copied to the SIM card.
