Some phones have slots for memory cards (usually microSD format).

If your phone supports SD cards, you can:

  • increase storage by inserting such a card;
  • use the card for some functions and applications.

How to install an SD card

  1. Find out if your phone has an SD card slot and where it is located. To do this, visit the manufacturer’s website.
  2. Turn off the phone.
  3. Remove the SD card tray or remove the back cover of the device (depending on model). If necessary, raise the tab holding the card.
  4. Put the SD card in the slot. If you raised the holding tab, lower it.
  5. Replace the SD card tray or the back cover of the device.
  1. When you insert the SD card, a notification will appear.
  2. Click Tune.
  3. Select the desired storage type.
    • Removable storage
      The SD card can be transferred to another device along with all the files that are stored on it (for example, photos and music). Applications on a removable drive cannot be moved.
    • Internal storage
      Only applications for this phone can be stored on the SD card. If you insert the card into another device, all data will be deleted from it. After that, the card can be used on the new phone.

    • When done, click Done.

    Important! Not all applications can be transferred to an SD card.

    1. Open app “Settings”.
    2. Select Applications.
    3. Select the application you want to move to the SD card.
    4. Click Storage.
    5. In chapter “Used” click Edit.
    6. Select an SD card.
    7. Follow the onscreen instructions.

    1. Open app “Settings”.
    2. Click Storage and USB.
    3. Select Inner memory.
    4. Select the desired file type.
    5. Press and hold the files you want to move.
    6. Click on the icon “Yet” ” title =””Copy to.
    7. In chapter “Save” select the SD card.
    8. Choose where to save the files.
    9. Click Copy.

    Step 2. Delete files from internal storage

    1. Open app “Settings”.
    2. Click Storage and USB.
    3. Click Inner memory.
    4. Select a file type.
    5. Click on each file you want to delete and hold.
    6. Touch icon “Basket”.

    If the SD card is used as an internal drive

    1. Open app “Settings”.
    2. Click Storage and USB.
    3. Select an SD card from the list.
    4. You will see how much space is used and how much is free. To see which files or applications are taking up space, select a category.

    If the SD card is used as a removable drive

    1. Swipe from top to bottom to open the notification panel.
    2. Under the SD card notification, click Open.

    3. Select an SD card.
    4. Click on the icon “Yet” ” title =””Settings ” title =””Format.
    5. To delete all data from the SD card, including music and photos, click Clean and format.

    Important! Before removing the SD card, you need to disable it, otherwise you risk losing data on it. After removing the card, some applications may not work until you insert and plug it in again.
