The Android system is notoriously easy to upgrade. Users of this OS can at any time expand the basic set of features available to them. For example, add phone conversation recording. This feature is useful when you urgently need to write down important information and don’t have a notepad and a pen handy. But since recording a phone conversation without warning and the consent of others is illegal in many countries, smartphone manufacturers are trying to disable it or “cut out” from firmware altogether. Samsung is one of them. In the software of its mobile devices it disables the function of recording telephone conversations. Despite this, users can still get it by applying some tweaks or with the help of third-party programs.

All Samsung smartphones whose firmware is based on Android 5.0.1 (or higher), have a built-in feature to record phone conversations. Such devices, for example, include the Samsung Galaxy A3 and A5. Their software contains all the necessary components, but they are hidden and are not used anywhere due to the lack of the necessary code. And on the “galaxy” devices from the Korean manufacturer with Android 4.4 on board (or below) there’s not a hint of the presence of a built-in feature to record calls. Such devices include the flagship smartphone of 2012. the Samsung Galaxy S3. But there’s nothing wrong with that. After all, the app store offers plenty of third-party solutions. Below you can see how to activate and use the built-in recording tool on supported handsets, as well as alternatives in the form of applications from the Google Play Store.

Using Built-in Recorder

To gain access to the built-in cellular call recording function, you need to perform one small tweak. It involves the use of root rights and a file manager (such as Root Explorer) that knows how to work with system records. These conditions are obligatory. Special privileges are required to make changes to the system section. If you want to use the built-in feature instead of third-party applications, then, unfortunately, you can’t do without root rights. If for some reason the built-in call recording method does not suit you, try the application from third-party developers. There are a lot of them in the Android store. In addition to automatic recording, deletion of old audio files after a set period, format and track quality settings, and directory selection, ACR has the following features:

How to record a call on your Samsung Galaxy A12 with built-in tools

Why not just one program, but several. Because I am not able to analyze all Samsung Galaxy smartphones, not to mention the hundreds from other developers.

So it is better to try all of them, check them and leave the most effective one. it is possible that some of them may not work at all on your phone. I checked this one (it’s also in the video below). it works fine.

Where is the call recording saved on your Android

By default you can find files with an explorer program, such as ES Explorer (more info about this application you can find in the article “How to open zip files”). We go to the internal memory, click Audio. Recorder. The path may vary slightly depending on the brand and specific model.

If you recorded the conversation with a third party program, it means that the files are stored there. Usually these are folders “Inbox”, “Outbox”, “Saved”. In the case of instant transfer of audio files to cloud storage, look for materials there.

Record a phone conversation with third-party software

If you can not find in your phone built-in call recording function, then you are going straight to Google Play. Here you will find many applications for recording conversations.

As a consequence, if we discard hardware solutions, it remains only a third line for the trimmer, implemented in one service or another. This is a solution that will remain functional for a long time.
