How to Disable Alerts on Phone

In some cases, when you do not need to completely turn off notifications, and you just need to make sure that notifications do not appear during the game, watching movies or at a certain time, it would be wiser to use the built-in Focus Attention function.

Turn off notifications in the settings

The first way is to configure the Windows 10 notification center so that unnecessary (or all) notifications are not displayed in it. You can do this in the OS settings.

  1. Go to Start. Settings (or press WinI keys).
  2. Go to System. Notifications and Actions.
  3. Here you can turn off notifications for various events.
How to Disable Alerts on Phone

Below on the same settings screen in the “Receive notifications from these applications” section, you can separately disable notifications for some Windows 10 applications (but not for all).

Using Registry Editor

Notifications can also be turned off in the Windows 10 registry editor, you can do this as follows.

  1. Run the registry editor (WinR, enter regedit).
  2. Go to the section
  3. Right-click on the right side of the editor and select create. The DWORD parameter is 32 bits. Give him a name Toastenabled, and leave 0 (zero) as the value.
  4. Restart Explorer or restart your computer.

Done, notifications should no longer bother you.

Turn off notifications in the local group policy editor

To turn off Windows 10 notifications in the local group policy editor, follow these steps:

  1. Run the editor (WinR keys, enter gpedit.Msc)
  2. Go to the “User Configuration”. “Administrative Templates”. “Start Menu and Taskbar”. “Notifications” section.
  3. Find the “Disable pop-up notifications” option and double-click on it.
  4. Set to Enabled for this option.

That’s all. Restart the explorer or restart the computer and notifications will not appear.

By the way, in the same section of the local group policy, you can enable or disable different types of notifications, as well as set the duration of the Do Not Disturb mode, for example, so that notifications do not bother you at night.

How to disable the entire Windows 10 Notification Center

In addition to the described ways to turn off notifications, you can completely remove the Notification Center, so that its icon does not appear in the taskbar and there is no access to it. You can do this using the registry editor or the local group policy editor (the last item is not available for the home version of Windows 10).

In the registry editor for this purpose it will be required in the section

Create a DWORD32 parameter named DisableNotificationCenter and value 1 (how to do this I wrote in detail in the previous paragraph). If the Explorer subkey is missing, create it. In order to enable the Notification Center again, either delete this parameter or set the value 0 for it.

Tell me how to remove the button: Minimize all windows? (Do you need to remove it or make it transparent so that it is not visible) ??

01/07/2016 at 22:29

Hello, how do I turn off the “Camera On” message when turning on the web camera?

01/08/2016 at 11:41

Hello. An interesting question. But I don’t know.

10/13/2016 at 20:53

By anology, as shown in the screenshot
Options. System. Notifications and actions. On this tab in the right part of the window, scroll down to the item “Receive notifications from these senders”, select the camera and move the slider to the “off” position

02/21/2016 at 16:34

All these actions do not turn off, but only hide this function. If you want to check, turn off the Windows protection service and receive regular messages about the need to enable protection. And further. If in the PC / System Settings from the Screen you switch to Notifications and actions, you will see how the previously turned off notification switches, especially for you from the on state, lazily jump to the off position. That is, when you close this page, they turn on again!

Dmitry! I have another problem. Notifications do not come from the mail client on windows 10. In the “show notifications for these applications” parameters is empty. Although notifications are enabled in the mail client itself. Do not tell me what could be the matter?

05/06/2016 at 09:50

Olga, unfortunately, I do not know. Searched on the Internet, they write only about two nuances
1) for some, it’s turned off in the settings (show notifications). And how is it that is empty there?
2) for some, notifications are shown only for MS (Outlook) mail accounts, but not for third-party ones (not resolved, as I understand it).

06/03/2016 at 06:05

How to find the program that is trying to tell me something and because of this the automatic hiding of the taskbar does not work. When this happened with a lack of disk space, it popped up. And now the panel just does not close.

06/03/2016 at 09:48

And it does not say, from which notification program? Or just turn off the notification center entirely (this can also be done): in the registry, here HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Policies \ Microsoft \ Windows \ Explorer create a DWORD32 with the name DisableNotificationCenter and set it to 1, then restart the explorer

06/20/2016 at 10:52

Dmitry, for some reason, the Notification Center has stopped working with the Mail application, although is it allowed to show notifications in the settings?

06/20/2016 at 10:57

Hello. In the “system”. “notifications and actions” notifications for applications are included?
Well, this mail has such a glitch, especially when working with several mail accounts (I don’t know the solution yet)

07/18/2016 at 21:40

Hello
and which team of the registry or pavershell can turn off all the notification switches indicated on your first screen? (And also enable the mode without notifications. Also by the registry or parallelshell?)

07/19/2016 at 11:12

HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Explorer \ Advanced, DWORD32 parameter named EnableBalloonTips, value 0. Completely disables all notifications.
There is an option in the local group policy editor. User Configuration. Administrative Templates. Start Menu and Taskbar. Somewhere Out There.
Well, you can turn off the notification center in general
HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ Policies \ Microsoft \ Windows \ Explorer, a DisableNotificationCenter value of 1.

07/19/2016 at 12:54

The first option with disabling all notifications does not work and is checked simply: command line / parallels from admin
netsh advfirewall set allprofiles state off
(or on at the end, then off. If off)
if a message pops up at the bottom right after the command that the firewall is disabled. Does not work.
However, if you manually enable the do not disturb mode on the notification icon in the tray icon, there will be no messages when you turn off the firewall.

The second method removes even these notifications, but in the settings it does not allow you to move the slider and does not turn off the sliders indicated on your screen (my screenshot is below)
correction: the second method removes the icon from the tray, but the firewall notifications also get out (because the non-notification mode does not work)

07/19/2016 at 13:07

And about the tray on the right, please say:
start-up-system-notifications and actions
or right-click on the property panel. (notification area) to configure
select the icons displayed in the taskbar
where in the registry or parallels you can enable the slider
“Always display all the icons in the notification area”?

07/20/2016 at 10:55

I do not know. And not google.

10/14/2016 at 11:18

Go to “Options”. The item “personalization”. “taskbar”. In the right part, scroll down the list below, look for the menu item “Notification Area“. You need a sub-item of this menu “Select the icons displayed in the taskbar” and there is a slider “Always display all icons in the taskbar”, put it in the “on” position and you will be happy.
If the text is difficult, see screenshots

10/13/2016 at 12:33

Oleg, use the function “Drag Drop ”(“ Take and drag, ”if in Russian). You cling to any icon hidden in the tray and drag it into the tray. Everything, it will be displayed constantly. It is necessary to display everything, then all drag.
Everything is done in two seconds, why the registry and turned? Or are we not looking for easy ways?

10/25/2016 at 21:55

Hello. I have a problem with Mail app notifications. They do not come, other notifications come. In the settings, everything is included. Can you help?

10.26.2016 at 10:59

You are not the first with such a problem, this is a glitch. A possible but not guaranteeing correction option is start-up. Parameters. System. Applications and features. Mail and calendar. Additional parameters. And there is a reset of the application settings.

02/08/2017 at 12:14

Tell me how to clear the “Show notifications for these applications” list. (the first screenshot is “Creative Cloud”)

02/09/2017 at 10:55

I do not know if this is possible without uninstalling the application.
But. I just found the instructions, the truth is only in German and I don’t know if it is readable through the translator: goo.Gl/46ld4y
This situation is solved there: the application has already been deleted, but it is still in the “show notification” list. Perhaps suitable in your case.

02/11/2017 at 18:12

Thank. The method itself is hemorrhaging. Plus Deutsche Sprechen. We will think further.

10.26.2017 at 00:26

Hello. How to disconnect notifications from one program forever? I want to turn off notifications from Abby lingvo x6.
Thanks in advance.

10/26/2017 at 08:27

Hello. And the parameters. The system. Notifications and actions. Receive notifications from these senders (there is a list of programs) does not work?
If not, then study the settings of the program itself, maybe there is something to this effect.

01/27/2019 at 18:41

Receive notifications from these senders if missing?

10.29.2017 at 09:41

Good afternoon. Works. But it turns on again after each program start.

04/26/2018 at 08:21

Dmitry good day!
I’ll start with screenshots.
(screenshots)
Windows 10 Pro
Version 1511
Building OS 10586.104
x64
That is, Open Server x64.Exe was registered in all cells about 50 pieces and supplanted all other programs, at the top there is only one or two of those installed after detecting the problem.
The hard drive is partitioned C D E.
The OS is installed on C, Open Server was installed on D (Uninstalled), a shortcut was sent to the desktop (or maybe even Open Server x64.Exe), in general, Open Server was launched from the desktop and not from the D: \ OSPanel folder \ Open Server x64.Exe

I was looking for two days, I did not find anything.
I cleaned the Ccleaner registry, demolished Open Server, deleted the shortcut (or Open Server x64.Exe) from the desktop, searched through Total Commander in the C \ section through (search for files with the text Open Server x64.Exe).
All by!
Maybe you know where to look for a problem? If not, how can this negatively affect the system?

04/26/2018 at 09:01

Hello.
I looked at screenshots, I did not encounter a situation.
Google suggests options:
1. Look here HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Notifications \ Setting and delete if there are items for an unnecessary program (but may not be).
2. Install the software again and immediately after installing / rebooting remove it and restart the computer again.

04/26/2018 at 13:57

2. Install the software again and immediately after installing / rebooting remove it and restart the computer again. I did it twice, it didn’t help.
Here I will try to look at HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Notifications \ Setting. Unsubscribe for any results.
Yes and! To catch up the question: can you advise a program to remove broken and extra registry files? Avast incidentally swore at 630 damaged registry files, but did not dare to do something with the help of avast.
P.S. I signed up only today), I have been reading your resource as needed since 2015. Everything is very competent and affordable !! And most importantly, that without delusions and excess water.

04/26/2018 at 14:52

Automatic cleaning of “common” registry keys is generally not particularly useful. There will be no sense from it (provided that there is not something that causes errors, but then it is noticeable), but harm is possible (if not cleaned).
About the lack of sense:
in the registry, hundreds of thousands of records and the removal of a thousand or two unused ones do not affect the efficiency and speed of work. Again, provided that there is not something not just unused, but broken.

04/26/2018 at 18:57

HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Notifications \ Setting.
I deleted everything along this path, deleted everything that Avast swore at, the result is zero
(Apparently somewhere deeply the problem has settled down, in an unknown direction).
I recovered from the backup, while we continue to use it further.
I don’t even want to think about reinstalling Windows), it’s a minimum of a week from morning to evening so that all programs with all the settings can be installed at the moment, and you won’t remember everything and more than once in the process. I have been using Acronis True Image for two years, and I did not notice this problem for a long time, the previous 3 copies also with this problem, I deleted the older ones.
In any case, Thank you Dmitry for the prompt support!

06/07/2018 at 12:49

I don’t have an antivirus and I don’t want to install it, but the message comes from the security system how to disable this notification so that it doesn’t appear on the desktop once and for all. Thank.

03/02/2019 at 20:15

Even with third-party antivirus, messages are being streamed.

05/08/2019 at 02:27

And can you somehow return the classic notifications for the torrent client with the prompt “download completed”, and not through this underdeveloped notification center, which will either constantly crawl out or should you look there if it is in silent mode?

05/08/2019 at 12:29

Try it like this: in the registry editor, go to the section
HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ SOFTWARE \ Policies \ Microsoft \ Windows in it, create (if not already) a subsection named Explorer.
And then, in this subsection, create a DWORD32 parameter named EnableLegacyBalloonNotifications and value 1
Reboot the computer.

05/08/2019 at 15:38

I tried it, it didn’t help, but I still found a solution: launch the client and download some torrent, through the notifications go to “focus attention”. There set “Only priority”. Click “configure priority list”. There the torrent client will be displayed add it. Of course, it is implemented in the style of “scratching the right ear with the left heel”, but it works 🙂 Well, I made a gif here to make it clearer, maybe then you’ll bungle the article or who else needs it

05/08/2019 at 17:47

Thanks for sharing.

06/04/2019 at 15:51

Hello Dmitry!
The question is not a topic, but I did not find anything suitable.
Is there any way to remove the icon from the notification / tray?
If you enable “hide the icon and notification” “- it still remains in the notifications (not in the taskbar)
How to remove the icon altogether from notifications / tray, but stay in startup?
P.S. Win_64

06/04/2019 at 17:05

Hello. I removed the link to the screenshot, but looked. From this “window” in the tray. Nothing, if only in the program itself there is no such option (in some, but rarely, there are).

06/04/2019 at 17:34

Yes, I forgot to indicate that, unfortunately, there is nothing in the settings or the context menu.

10/22/2019 at 11:52

Thanks, they really helped.

12/07/2019 at 01:52

Hello! Please tell me, is it possible to make notifications appear not on the lower right, but on the upper left or on the middle of the screen?

12/07/2019 at 10:17

Hello.
Good question. I do not know such methods, but in general, I suppose that in theory they can be.
Found: you can move up to the right (but to the left. No). How: in the registry in the section

A DWORD parameter is created with the name DisplayToastAtBottom and a value of 0, then a reboot.

12/07/2019 at 22:29

Did not help. Only more glitches in Windows increased))
