How to Connect Mail on Iphone Xs

There are two ways to set up an email account on your iOS device using the Mail app: automatically and manually. Find out which method suits you best.

Automatically set up an email account

If you use e-mail services such as iCloud, Google or Yahoo, the Mail program can automatically set up an account after entering an email address and password. To do this, perform the following steps.

1. Go to the Settings menu “Passwords and accounts.”
2. Click “Add Account” and select an email service provider.
3. Enter your email address and password.
4. Click the “Next” button and wait for the end of the account verification by the “Mail” program.
5. Select information in your email account, such as contacts or calendars.
6. Click “Save.”

If the desired email service provider is not listed, click “Other” to manually add the account.

Manually set up an email account

To set up an email account manually, you will need the email settings used for your account. If the necessary settings are unknown, try to find them or contact your mail service representatives. Then follow these steps.

1. Go to the Settings menu “Passwords and accounts.”
2. Click “New Account”, “Other” and “New Account”.
3. Enter your name, email address, password and account description.
4. Click “Next.” The Mail program will attempt to find the necessary email settings and complete the account setup. If the desired email settings are found, click the Finish button to complete the account setup.

Manually Entering Account Settings

If the Mail program cannot find the email settings, you will need to enter them manually. Click the “Next” button and follow these steps.

1. Select the type of new account. IMAP or POP. If you are not sure which type to choose, contact your mail service representative.
2. Fill in the fields “Incoming server” and “Outgoing server”. Then click the “Next” button. If the required information is unknown, try to find it or contact your mail service representative.
3. If the entered settings are correct, click the “Save” button to complete. If the email settings are incorrect, you will be prompted to change them.

If you still cannot set up an email account or still save settings, contact your mail service representative.
