Some Dell laptops (for example, the Inspiron line) do not always correctly process the F2 key (more precisely, they load so quickly that it is quite difficult to get into the “window” when you need to have time to press this key). As a result, the entrance to BIOS becomes a real quest.

As one of the alternative options (which I recommend trying) is to discharge the battery to ~ 5% (in my case 2%). Then you need to turn off and turn on the laptop again. You should have a window with a warning that the battery is not enough (example below).

Note: this method will not work on all laptop line.

How to enter BIOS on a laptop

In former times, the entrance to BIOS from almost any computer was carried out by pressing the Delete key while loading it. Currently, the task has become more complicated: manufacturers set the need to press completely different keys for entering BIOS. One of these manufacturers is Dell.

BIOS (Basic Input-Autput System-the base of the input and output system) is a small program built into the motherboard, which is essentially an intermediary between computer “iron” and the operating system. To enter the BIOS settings (BIOS SETUP UTILITY), it is necessary during one of the short stages of starting the computer to press a certain key on the keyboard. In most cases (but, unfortunately, not in all absolutely cases), the name of this key is indicated on the monitor screen precisely at the moment when the entrance to the BIOS settings is available. As a rule, at the very bottom of the screen, an appropriate inscription appears, for example: “Press del to enter setup”, “: Bios setup”.

Standard keys that need to be pressed to enter the BIOS during the computer load are the Delete (Del), Escape (ESC), Insert (INS) and F1 keys. Less commonly found, but also quite common options for the keys F2 and F10 are. However, at present, the listed standard entry keys to the BIOS settings do not exhaust all possible options.

Different models of DELL computers and laptops require pressing various keys to enter BIOS. Consider the methods of entering the BIOS settings set for different models of Dell laptops:- to enter the Dell 400 BIOS Setup Utility, you need to press the F1 or F3 key;- Dell Dimension and Dell Optiplex models- F2 or Del key;- Dell Inspiron models Dell Precision F2;- Dell Latitude models- F2 key or two FN and F1 keys at the same time.If pressing the listed keys did not lead to the desired result, then you can also try the following options:- simultaneously press the Alt and Enter keys;- simultaneously press the Alt and Ctrl keys;- simultaneously press the Ctrl and ESC keys;- press the computer restart button (reset) twice.

It must be remembered that the possibility for entering the BIOS settings exists only within a few seconds during the download of the computer. If the given key is pressed by the user a little earlier or a little later than necessary, then the entrance to the BIOS Setup Utility will not occur.

Launch the BIOS settings program. Setup. a program for installing the BIOS parameters, the initial setting of a computer. It is launched by pressing a special key, which depends on the manufacturer and the BIOS version. This program allows you to initially configure the computer hardware, for example, set the loading order, specify memory parameters, etc. D.

BIOS is a basic input-output system, a part of the system software implemented in the form of microprograms, which is designed to provide an API of access to the computer equipment and devices connected to it.

How to enter the BIOS using a Dell laptop?

BIOS (full name Basic Input-Autput System) is a kind of input-output program built into the motherboard and allows you to establish communication between the operating system and drivers. Most recently it was easy to enter the BIOS. The capabilities of computers of any model made it possible to carry out this task using a simple press of the Delete key during PC boot. Due to the intensive development of computer technology, significant changes occur in the characteristics and capabilities of PC. PC Dell manufacturers decided to be original and offer to use a combination of different keys in order to enter the BIOS.

In general, in order to enter the BIOS settings (BIOS Setup Utiliti), you need during the initial stage of loading PC, namely: in one short periods, press the specified key on the keyboard. Very often, the name of this key can be seen on the monitor at the moment when the entrance to the BIOS settings is opened. Be careful, and do not miss one of the inscriptions that appeared in the lower part of the screen: “BIOS Setup”, “Press del to Enter Setup”.

The standard solution for entering the BIOS is to press the following keys: F1, Escape (ESC), Delete (Del), Insert (INS). Much less often, but still there are such keys as: F2 and F10. But these are far from all presented key options, using which you can enter the BIOS settings.

Of course, the variety of laptop models and PC models on the market requires an individual solution to enter the BIOS program. In order not to finally get confused in all these keys, carefully read the following data provided for various models of Dell laptops.

To enter the BIOS Setup Utiliti using the Dell 400 model, press the F1 or F3 key.

To enter the BIOS Setup Utiliti using Dell Inspiron and Dell Precision models, press the F2 key.

To enter the BIOS Setup Utiliti using the Dell Dimension and Dell Optiplex models, press the F2 or DEL key.

Entrance to the BIOS Setup Utiliti using Dell Latitude models, simultaneously pressing two FN and F1 keys or press the F2 key.

In the event that you have not received the expected effect, try to perform the following actions:

At the same time, press two Alt and Enter keys;

At the same time, press two Ctrl and ESC keys.

Press the PC restart key twice.

The main conclusion, which itself suggests itself, based on all of the above, is quite simple. You just need to be careful enough not to view the necessary records on the monitor and have a good reaction that allows you to quickly press the necessary keys. Therefore, before entering the BIOS program,

Do not be surprised, but bios are different

I think you should get everything. For those who are going to work for the first time in BIOS, I will tell you how it looks like. In simple models, like early instirion, you will find the usual integration with “Main” tabs (main), “Advansed” (additionally), “security” (safety), “boot” (loading) and “Exit” (exit). This will help you navigate in the settings.

Over time, the Dell’s BIOS Inte Weos Inte Wee Inte Weens and 1525 INPIRION ABOUT THE ANYTHING OF THE OPENED AND MENSE OF A MENUS AND COVING TO TOMENSE TO TOMA

But modern advanced models as Vostro, XPS,

enter, bios, dell, inspiron, laptop

Latitude BIOS has been further developed and has become completely different from the system settings of other manufacturers.

And this is good, because as for me, it is more understandable and here all important sections are separately highlighted here. Minimum knowledge of English will allow you to quickly find and correctly set the necessary parameters.

Well, friends. Now you know how to go to the BIOS on the Dell laptop and you can easily navigate in its settings.

On this I say goodbye myself and wish you good luck.

BIOS is a special software environment that serves as a connection between the hardware part of the computer and the operating system installed on it. UEFI is a more modern BIOS analogue that performs more tasks and has more opportunities. UEFI is installed on all new Dell laptops. Unlike Windows, which is recorded on the hard drive, BIOS or UEFI is on the motherboard. Entrance to BIOS or UEFI is needed to monitor the computer, as well as changes in the procedure for downloading connected devices: hard drives, drives, USB flash drives and other media.

Most users do not attach much importance to BIOS, but everything changes when it comes to reinstalling the operating system. By default, the Dell laptop loads from the hard drive. However, to reinstall the operating system, it is necessary to load from a removable medium, for example, from a flash drive.

Using a discharged battery

Another simple, but takes time, is that you need to defuse the laptop battery to a state when less than 10% of the charge remains. You can do this by connecting a USB device to a laptop and starting the diagnostic process at the same time. As an option, you can discharge the device completely, then. connect it to charging and a little recharge. So, you will not need to catch the moment when the battery charge is installed at the point you need.

When the battery charge reaches an acceptable mark, reboot Dell Inspiron and you will see the following notification:

Now it remains to click on the F2 button, after which you will successfully enter the BIOS.

Disconnect the built.in audio card in BIOS

and more often they put a high.quality discrete sound card in computers, while the built.in should be disconnected. It is done simply, we go to the Settings menu and the ADVANCEDINTEGREETED Peripherals subsection.

HD Audio Controller is transferred to Disabled mode.

Want to know what BIOS is and how to check and change the BIOS parameters on the Dell computer? This article contains detailed information.

Note. Information about the discharge and cleaning of the BIOS is given in the following article of the knowledge base:

The BIOS abbreviation is deciphered as Basic Input Output System. BIOS is a software on a small PC system board memory (CMOP is a complementary structure of metal-oxide-semi-chief). This software for setting up the system parameters performs the functions of the PC and operating system hardware (for example, Windows), so the software controls the hardware components of the computer.

BIOS also contains algorithms for which PC performs basic actions, for example, downloading over the network or using a hard drive, determining in the latter case the procedure for involving discs.

BIOS is also used to identify and configure the hardware components of the computer (hard drive, flexible disk drive, optical drive, processor, memory, self.building devices Plug and Play, etc. P.). This process is performed using ESCD (extended data configuration), which are usually stored in additional energy.dependent NVRAM memory.

With the development of technology, this process has changed, but users still call BIOS both CMOP and NVRAM despite their small difference. CMOP contains the BIOS system and its parameters, and the ESCD data is stored in NVRAM. At the same time, BIOS update does not lead to NVRAM cleaning.

To enter the BIOS or the system settings on the PC Dell, press the F2 key when the Dell logo will display on the screen when loading the PC on the screen.
