Android Update Huawei Mediapad T3

Huawei MediaPad. review of budget tablets

It’s no secret that tablet solutions are not very relevant right now, since they do not offer anything new compared to smartphones. Yes, it is more convenient to watch content on ordinary tablets, but this is practically the only advantage that cannot be compared with how far mobile phones have moved today. Smartphones are powerful, fast, there are options with large batteries, there are, in turn, camera phones, and secure devices, etc. over, the mobile gadget fits easily in jeans pockets, and if you want something between the tablet and the phone, then there are devices such as Xiaomi Mi Max, Mi Max 2, Xperia Z Ultra and others offering display diagonals of as much as 6.44 inches. a kind of universal solution. Therefore, stagnation has formed on the tablet market, and the situation is aggravated by the fact that many manufacturers are now reluctant to produce classic tablets, preferring to lure customers with hybrid solutions, often with two OSs (Android Windows 10) on board. The only company whose tablets fly like hot cakes is Apple. Still, in June, the Cupertinians introduced the new iPad Pro 10.5″designed for professionals, and also updated the stuffing iPad Pro 12.9″. However, today we will talk about the tablets of Huawei. conventional tablets from the Middle Kingdom at interesting prices.

Transforming tablets with Winwows 10. 10-inch tablets from Asus. Review of the new iPad Pro 2017 on 10.5 and 12.9 inches

This tablet. this is a new model from Huawei, which is a budget solution with a very low price tag. Huawei MediaPad T3 7.0 received very weak hardware and a minimum of memory, but this is not surprising, since the cost of the device does not exceed 5000 rubles. Let’s take a look at the technical part of this tablet.

  • Colors: gray, silver;
  • Case: anodized aluminum, plastic inserts, glass;
  • Screen: 7-inch diagonal, IPS matrix, resolution 1024×600 pixels, density 170 ppi, aspect ratio 16: 9, contrast ratio 800: 1, multi-touch, occupies 74.5% of the front panel;

First, it’s worth talking about the appearance of the MediaPad T3 7.0 tablet. The design of the device does not stand out against the background of other state employees, while the device is made of anodized aluminum (covers almost the entire back surface), glass and plastic inserts for the output of antennas. The display format is standard. 16: 9, while there is no oleophobic coating. The finger glides reluctantly, fingerprints are collected actively and erased with difficulty. In total, there are two options for coloring the case. It is a dark gray version and silver. As for the build quality, it is at a fairly high level, so there are no creaks or backlashes. everything fits perfectly.

Android Update Huawei Mediapad T3

The situation with the display is typical for a state employee. MediaPad T3 7.0 has a diagonal display of 7 inches. compact, you can’t say anything, but the resolution does not exceed the value of 1024×720 pixels. The matrix itself is made using IPS technology without an air gap and supports no more than two simultaneous touches. Viewing angles are not outstanding, the colors are saturated and the brightness is quite good. There is an automatic adjustment of the brightness of the display, but it does not always work correctly. In addition, it is worth noting the best screen sensitivity. It’s not quite bad, but against the background of more expensive models it is clear that the tablet loves, so to speak, strong male fingers. To summarize: a typical budget device screen.

With performance, MediaPad T3 7.0 is not all clear. precisely, the 6th Android OS does not slow down and works more or less smoothly, but when you open several applications at the same time, the tablet starts to think longer and work much slower. But it wasn’t worth expecting another from the ancient 32-bit MediaTek MT8127 processor, since it has been running for many years and is based on outdated and not used in the modern world Cortex-A7 cores. over, playing MediaPad T3 7.0 will be difficult, since the Mali-450 accelerator is not good at playing games. Flavors hopelessness and 1 GB of RAM. Generally speaking. iron is weak, but it’s good for something else.

The cameras are really sad. The device is equipped with two cameras. front and rear have a resolution of 2 MP. To aggravate the position of MediaPad T3 7.0, its photomodules are not equipped with autofocus and lack flash. Even during the day, in good light, photos are taken in C grade, and with a lack of light, it is better not to turn on the camera at all. Here the photomodule is more for show than for real use.

As for the autonomy of the MediaPad T3 7.0, things are at an average level. The battery capacity of 3100 mAh is enough for 10 hours in read mode and 5 hours in viewing mode on YouTube. The results are not impressive, but not shameful, because with normal use of the tablet MediaPad T3 7.0 can last up to two days.

Benefits

  • Low price;
  • Metal case;
  • High-quality assembly;
  • Bright screen.

disadvantages

  • Low resolution display;
  • Weak processor and low memory;
  • The front and rear cameras take bad photos ands.

Another new tablet from Huawei, which, unlike the previous budget, is more modern, beautiful and interesting in filling. Although the processor from Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 is responsible for the device’s operation, it’s modest, but it’s modest, but it’s not ancient and forgotten by all Mediatek.

  • Colors: gray, gold;
  • Case: anodized aluminum, plastic, glass;
  • Screen: 8-inch diagonal, IPS matrix, resolution 1280×800 pixels, density 189 ppi, aspect ratio 16:10, contrast ratio 800: 1, multitouch, occupies 70.7% of the front panel;
  • Processor: Qualcomm Snapdragon 425, quad-core, Cortex-A53 cores with a frequency of up to 1.4 GHz, 28 nanometer manufacturing process, 64-bit;
  • accelerator: Adreno 308, frequency up to 500 MHz;
  • RAM: 2 GB or 3 GB standard LPDDR3 with a frequency of 667 MHz;
  • Memory: 16 or 32 GB support for memory cards;
  • Camera: resolution 5 MP, aperture f / 2.0, autofocus, no flash, recording in Full HD at speeds up to 30 fps;
  • Selfie camera: resolution 2 MP, without the ability to record;
  • SIM card: no;
  • Navigation: GPS, A-GPS;
  • Wi-Fi 801.11 b / g / n 5GHz Dual Band, Bluetooth 4.1, Micro USB 2.0, 3.5 mm jack;
  • Battery: 4800 mAh, non-removable;
  • Android 7.0.1 and shell Emotion UI 5.1

  • Weight: 350 grams;
  • Antutu: 37,000 points;
  • Price: from 8000 rubles.

All-metal case, albeit with plastic inserts. it’s great. In general, the MediaPad T3 8.0 Wi-Fi looks great, because the minimalistic design has always been in fashion. everything in its place, there is nothing superfluous. The manufacturer decided to release a tablet in two popular colors, perfect for both women and men: in gray and gold colors. It is worth noting that the device weighs a little, only 350 grams, and its thickness will please many. no more than 8 mm. The good news is that Huawei engineers placed the speaker not in the back, but at the bottom right in the center, and therefore when using MediaPad T3 8.0 Wi-Fi, the speaker will not be blocked by the palm of your hand or something else. In our case, a model without SIM card support, however, there is a version of the device with its support, including LTE networks, but it is more expensive by at least 1,500 rubles.

The display in the new product is the most convenient at 8 inches. Agree, for everyday use, 7 inches is not enough. a little more than a smartphone, but 10 inches is often already a lot. The golden mean makes itself felt. both convenient and practical. The resolution of the display is 1280×800 pixels, which provides a pixel density in the region of 189 ppi. The aspect ratio is classic for a tablet. it’s 16:10. This means that on a tablet it will be most convenient to watchs and photo materials. As for the IPS matrix itself, due to the absence of an air gap, the colors are bright and saturated, and the viewing angles are maximum. up to 178 degrees.

As for the processor, MediaPad T3 8.0 Wi-Fi is doing well. The Snapdragon 425 consists of four energy-efficient Cortex-A53 cores that operate at frequencies up to 1400 MHz. For everyday tasks, this solution is quite enough, and you can play games on it, but not in too heavy or on minimal graphics settings. Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 does not show the highest results in synthetics, about 37,000 points, which once again proves its budget. In general, the chipset is good for its tasks and is a cut above the analogues from Mediatek. In addition, MediaPad T3 8.0 Wi-Fi has from 2 to 3 GB of RAM and up to 32 GB of permanent memory. more for a budget device and not needed.

The main camera offers a resolution of 5 MP. It will allow you to take interesting pictures, as well as photograph documents, announcements, and a schedule. for students and schoolchildren an actual function. The photos are clear, but it’s better to shoot in good light, since the tablet was not equipped with a flash and in the dark nothing good will come of it.

The resolution of the front camera does not exceed 2 MP. For calls, this is more than enough. With proper perseverance, you can take nice selfies, especially on the street on a sunny day.

Regarding the autonomy of the MediaPad T3 8.0 Wi-Fi, things are going well. The processor itself consumes a bit of energy, and given the low resolution of the display, everything becomes clear. there is nothing to consume a large 4800 mAh battery. In total, the tablet PC lives at least two days, and on average you can expect three full days of work.

Benefits

  • Low price;
  • Nice metal case;
  • High-quality assembly;
  • Bright, juicy screen.

disadvantages

  • Low resolution display;
  • The average power processor;
  • No flash for main camera.

Now it’s the turn to deal with large representatives of tablet solutions, the diagonal of which is in the region of 10 inches.

  • Colors: gray, gold;
  • Case: anodized aluminum, plastic, glass;
  • Screen: 9.6-inch diagonal, IPS matrix, resolution 1280×800 pixels, density 157 ppi, aspect ratio 4: 3, contrast 800: 1, brightness 300 nits, multitouch, occupies 73% of the front panel;
  • Processor: Qualcomm Snapdragon 425, quad-core, Cortex-A53 cores with a frequency of up to 1.4 GHz, 28 nanometer manufacturing process, 64-bit;
  • accelerator: Adreno 308, frequency up to 500 MHz;
  • RAM: 2 GB or 3 GB standard LPDDR3 with a frequency of 667 MHz;
  • Memory: 16 or 32 GB support for memory cards;
  • Camera: resolution 5 MP, aperture f / 2.0, autofocus, no flash, recording in Full HD at speeds up to 30 fps;
  • Selfie camera: resolution 2 MP, without the ability to record;
  • SIM card: yes, support for LTE Cat.4 networks;
  • Navigation: GPS, A-GPS, GLONASS, Beidou;
  • Wi-Fi 801.11 b / g / n 5GHz Dual Band, Bluetooth 4.1, Micro USB 2.0, 3.5 mm jack;
  • Battery: 4800 mAh, non-removable;
  • Android 7.0.1 and shell Emotion UI 5.1
  • Dimensions: 229.8 x 159.8 x 7.95 mm;
  • Weight: 460 grams;
  • Antutu: 37,000 points;
  • Price: from 10,000 rubles.

This device, unlike the previous two, is distinguished by the fact that it is landscape-oriented. It is worth noting the very modest dimensions of the device, because without knowing the size of the diagonal of the display, confusing it with 8-inch solutions is very simple. And again, we are met by a device with a minimum of details and in a metal case. Naturally, the plastic insert could not do without, because it serves to output Wi-Fi antennas and a modem. Huawei launches MediaPad T3 10 in two colors: gray and gold. in principle, this is enough. There are no questions regarding assembly to the device. fit the parts well, sit tight, which eliminates creaking and crunching.

The MediaPad T3 10 has a 9.6-inch display with an IPS matrix. The resolution is still low again, only 1280×800 pixels, and frankly, it is not enough for such a diagonal. However, nothing else to expect and was not worth it, since the Snapdragon 425 processor supports the maximum resolution of the HD format. A small plus can be considered a weak, but still available oleophobic coating. Like all other Huawei innovations, the absence of an air gap allows for maximum viewing angles, but when tilted, the colors still darken, although they are not distorted. Multi-touch is and is supported up to 10 simultaneous touches. There is no light sensor in the device, so the brightness will have to be adjusted manually. In fact, this is not a minus, since this technology is more intended for the lazy and actively eats the battery.

As for performance with MediaPad T3 10, the situation looks the same as with the previous MediaPad T3 8.0 Wi-Fi. For everyday tasks, Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 processor is quite enough, however, it is poorly suited for heavy games. Of course, if you twist the settings to a minimum in the same tanks, then the average fps will be 35-40 frames, which is quite playable. In general, the performance of the tablet completely fits into its price category. no more no less.

The 5 MP camera module immediately makes it clear that nothing extraordinary is to be expected. During the day, the camera works more or less normally, and the HDR mode also performs well, but with a lack of light, ordinary soap and noise. The downside is the lack of a flash, so it’s better not to use the tablet’s camera indoors. The 2MP front-facing sensor does not shine with quality, but it’s quite suitable for calls. Selfies can be done again in the afternoon on the street, while even so much detail is lame.

The MediaPad T3 10 has a battery with a capacity of 4800 mAh and, given the low resolution of the display, you expect decent autonomy from the device. Unfortunately, this is not all great either: in the mode of continuous playback of HD-at maximum screen brightness and half volume, the tablet works for about six hours. But in games the device proved to be much better: one hour of tank battles took only 15% of the battery charge from the device.

Benefits

  • good main camera;
  • build quality and materials;
  • bright display and viewing angles.

disadvantages

  • Low resolution display;
  • average autonomy;
  • No flash for main camera.

Another ten-inch tablet from Huawei, which is inexpensive, but at the same time has a very interesting filling and a lot of memory. This time, the Huawei company pleased with a very powerful sound filling. The tablet received an audio system from Harman / Kardon and as many as four speakers. On the one hand, this is very pleasing, although in fact the sound of the MediaPad M3 Lite 10 speakers lacks low frequencies, and there are plenty of high ones.

  • Colors: gray, gold, white;
  • Case: anodized aluminum, glass;
  • Screen: diagonal 10.1 inches, IPS matrix, resolution 1920×1200 pixels, density 224 ppi, aspect ratio 16:10, contrast 1300: 1, brightness 450 nits, multitouch, occupies 71.7% of the front panel;
  • Processor: Qualcomm Snapdragon 435, eight-core, Cortex-A53 cores with a frequency of up to 1.4 GHz, 28 nanometer manufacturing process, 64-bit;
  • Accelerator: Adreno 505, frequency up to 600 MHz;
  • RAM: 3 GB or 4 GB standard LPDDR3 with a frequency of 800 MHz;
  • Memory: 16/32 or 64 GB support for memory cards;
  • Camera: resolution 8 MP, aperture f / 2.0, autofocus, no flash, recording in Full HD at speeds up to 30 fps;
  • Self-camera: resolution 8 MP, recording in 720p;
  • Sound system from Harman / Kardon and 4 stereo speakers;
  • The fingerprint scanner;
  • SIM card: yes, support for LTE Cat.4 networks;
  • Navigation: GPS, A-GPS, GLONASS, Beidou;
  • Wi-Fi 801.11 b / g / n / ac 5GHz Dual Band, Bluetooth 4.1, Micro USB 2.0, 3.5 mm jack;
  • Battery: 6600 mAh, non-removable;
  • Android 7.0.1 and shell Emotion UI 5.1
  • Dimensions: 241.3 x 171.5 x 7.5 mm;
  • Weight: 310 grams;
  • Antutu: 46000 points;
  • Price: from 19000 rubles.

In this case, Huawei decided to abandon the plastic inserts and made a tablet made entirely of aluminum. To output the antennas, there are only tiny plastic dividers on the metal rim, which are generally not noticeable. The device does not flaunt compact dimensions and the frames around the display are wide enough. In total there are three color options and they are all classic: gray, gold and white. Build quality is always on top, without a single creak or backlash. Again, the designers of MediaPad M3 Lite 10 took the path of minimalism, without piling the tablet with unnecessary details or inscriptions. Unlike the devices considered earlier, this instance has a fingerprint scanner on the front panel and its location makes it clear that the device is landscape-oriented.

The display on the tablet has a 16:10 aspect ratio, and its resolution is Full HD. This allows you to achieve a sufficiently high pixel density in the region of 224 ppi, so the picture on this screen looks great. The device boasts an acceptable brightness of 450 nits and a high contrast ratio of 1300: 1. In the tablet’s settings, you can adjust not only the color temperature, but also use the night reading mode, which reduces the amount of blue spectrum. There is also auto brightness control, which works flawlessly. In general, MediaPad M3 Lite 10 has no display problems, everything is of high quality, bright and rich.

The heart of the tablet PC is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 budget stone, which already has not four, but as many as eight cores, albeit operating at the same frequency of 1400 MHz. In practice, the processor provides sufficient speed in all applications, but in games, as is usually the case, you will have to be content with minimal graphics settings, if we talk about heavy projects. All sorts of runners and stuff go well, as it should be. Huawei did not spare the RAM, which counts from 3 to 4 GB of the LPDDR3 standard. There is also a lot of internal memory in the maximum version, as many as 64 GB, given the fact that there is a slot for memory cards. However, in a barrel of honey average in sweetness there is also a fly in the ointment. It consists in the fact that Huawei saved on internal memory, and more precisely on the speed of its work. The read / write speed is 79 and 25 MB / s, which is very small. As a result, the tablet likes to think things over and all through the fault of slow memory.

On cameras, the situation is more rosy than with the above devices. Both modules have a resolution of 8 MP, the aperture ratio of the main camera lens is f / 2.0, and the front. f / 2.2. Nevertheless, the color rendition is lame, and with a minimum value of ISO 100 you can notice a little noise. The sharpness of images from the main photomodule is good, but not throughout the frame. The front camera also suffers from poor sharpness due to the lack of autofocus, although it is more than enough for calls.

The battery capacity inspires confidence and you should expect high autonomy results from the tablet. In playback mode MediaPad M3 Lite 10 lived for about 9 hours. If you use LTE networks and actively browse / watchs, the device lasts about seven hours. Yes, not phenomenal results, but quite decent. Although the Snapdragon 435 supports fast charging, it still takes a long time to charge. at least 4 hours. Apparently, Huawei cut down Quick Charge 3.0, as there are no other explanations for long charging.

Benefits

  • Nice metal case;
  • Great build
  • Stereo speakers and sound system;
  • Display options.

disadvantages

  • Mediocre cameras;
  • The average power processor;
  • Slow memory.
