Android 10 has been released: new features and functionality

Google has officially launched the final version of Android 10. The first version of Google’s untitled dessert mobile operating system is also the first version with built-in support for foldable displays, 5G connectivity and a dark theme for the entire system.

There aren’t many surprises, as Google has been releasing open beta versions of Android 10 for months now. But now that Google has released the source code and started rolling out Android 10 on Pixel smartphones, the company is giving us a better idea of what Android 10 has to offer users.

The new Android Q initially supports devices with flexible displays, making it much easier for developers to adapt the system, as well as apps for flexible devices. For example, it is now much easier for developers to control how their app will look when the smartphone is folded and unfolded.

A fully “dark” theme has also appeared, which now applies to the entire system, including notifications. However, to activate it you need to set a dark background, as well as activate the night mode in the system settings. So it won’t be possible to make the phone dark directly.

Also, the new Android Q will allow developers to add a panel to their apps to access system settings, like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, volume control, etc.д.
