WhatsApp caught saving photos on other people's devices

Since WhatsApp automatically copies all files received by the user to the gadget’s photo gallery (this setting is enabled by default in the application), all files sent inside the correspondence, even after they are deleted, will be available to the recipient. The vulnerability primarily affects owners of smartphones from Apple, since smartphones running on the Android operating system automatically get rid of files deleted in correspondence on the device.

It became known that WhatsApp employees do not plan to fix the discovered vulnerability. According to a company spokesperson, a feature called “Delete For All” aims to delete messages, not photos and video files.
